Probably, their whole perspective will be changed. They will start to be more open-minded about the potentials of bitcoin and how it will be beneficial especially in times economy’s breakdown. Most likely, they will consider now to legalize bitcoin but of course, the process might also take long since they will still have to study about it and consider it’s advantages and disadvantages.
They will consider it and maybe learn how to provide opportunities for bitcoin legality without disrupting currency, some countries have provided bitcoin legality only for assets and cannot be used for other than currency, even though the donation given is not aimed at getting crypto legality but large hope that the government can provide space for the crypto community in Turkey to trade and invest in crypto.

if nothing else, this situation will give them a good perspective about btc and crypto in general. those individuals who have the notion that btc is only used for illegal means and other fraudulent activities may change their perspective into something positive if they learn that btc is now the fastest and cheapest way to send help to countries which are in dire need of emergency funds.

After three significant earthquakes struck Turkey, a Turkish singer Haluk Levent persuaded the country’s financial watchdog (MASAK) to allow collecting crypto donations, which is currently illegal in the country.

MASAK allowed three crypto wallets to collect donations for a week. Wallets belong to Levent, who publishes all significant contributions and expenses on his Twitter account.
Let's see how it's going to be the approach of the government towards cryptocurrencies once this crisis is solved. The donations might have some impact on the views of government, after all, cryptos are being an useful tool to help turkish citizens and authorities may want to be thankful for that, finally accepting the positive potential they can have in a society, including during crisis times like the one Turkey is suffering right now.

Other crypto are donating to Syria as well probably in a different way, and maybe the sanctions are lifted for the sole purpose of donating for the earthquake victim.

Crypto community are doing their part to help people and this is not the first time we donate something to the victim of natural calamity and disaster, let’s just hope that we are sending money to the right person so our help will reach the people in need.
The role of cryptocurrencies would be great if they were donated while the sanctions continued, because they are an indication of the decentralization of Bitcoin.
We only hope that it reaches its beneficiaries and thus they benefit from it, as the situation is catastrophic and they need every dollar that is donated.
Read some news about donations to Syria as well, and its also a good amount of money. If the sanctions didn’t except a disaster event like this, its good that we have cryptocurrency as an option.

Tried to donate some small money in our local organization, I’d hope that the money will really go to that country. Choosing where to donate is also a bid risk, so make sure you are dealing with the trusted organizations that really works to help those people.

This situation is a good breeding ground for scammers. So yes, be careful sending to these fraudsters.
Check the official links and addresses before you hit the send button.
In times where traditional payment methods and banking system are in rubble, this is where crypto comes in.
They will now appreciate how blockchain tech can assist countries which are in dire need of funds for emergency needs.

Hell even nations sent billions to help Ukraine with that war, and Turkey can't crack over 10 million, I hope that people would find the courage and the empathy to treat these two nations similarly, but I doubt that would happen, watch if any European nations ever get earthquake, it will get x10 more than this amount at least, probably more.

Stop comparing the two, Ukraine is being invaded by a foreign country and is at risk of losing everything, Turkey experienced a natural disaster, it's not like they need guns and rockets to fight earthquakes. Also, you're clearly misinformed about the donations, just the US sent $85 million in humanitarian assistance, with the UN seeking to cover an extra 600 million on top of the already pledged 400 million.

In dire times, you can expect the government to bend some of the laws and regulations they enforce for their advantage. Even if it's currently illegal in the country, money is still money, and you don't want to decline any donations whatsoever that you're receiving because it all adds up eventually that will help the plight of your citizens in need.

Most of the time exactly when quick responses and actions are needed the governments end up taking even more time on decisions than when it's not a crisis at all, everyone runs from responsibilities, nobody wants to take a decision, the majority has a lot of skeletons in the closet they want to cover up never to be found and so on.

Fortunately this time they got scared and allowed the donations, it would have been such an ugly sight to have people in need and the same time the authorities like morons block the much-needed help readily available.

While I'm not 100% familiar with what happened to the unfortunate residents in turkey's recent earthquake zones. AFAIK it seems a major fault line in turkey ruptured producing more chaos and unfortunate events than we see from most quakes. Real estate located on fault lines are higher risk for earthquake and tsunami damage as indicated by the fukushima disaster which was also constructed on a fault line.
The advantage of purchasing and developing real estate located on fault lines is lower cost land. Real estate located on fault lines being cheaper and more affordable in contrast to more stable and reliable land masses

What happened was corruption and a lack of respect for the law and regulations, a building being built with no concern whatsoever, a disaster waiting to happen. The Tōhoku earthquake had nothing to do with this, the earthquake happened under the sea 75 km from the coast, also the majority of the victims died because of the tsunami, not of the earthquake.

Is it possible that crypto based donations carry a significant advantage over gofundme and other platforms which denominate only in single currencies of fiat? Not everyone in the world has access to digital dollars to donate on US based platforms. National currencies can be limiting in terms of them expressly being used inside the borders of the nation which issues them. The US dollar losing its position as an international reserve currency can only accelerate this process for the USA.

Global cryptocurrencies by contrast, can be commonly held and used by residents of all nations. Which could give crypto based donation services a distinct advantage over the digital dollar, yuan, ruple and other assorted national currencies.
Same happened for Ukraine as well, after the war when the first wave hit, Ukraine started to accept crrypto donations eventually, and since they were a "western nation" and in Europe, they got over 100+ million dollars in a month, which wasn't really shocking, because it is obvious that the world cares about Ukraine a lot more than they care about "non-white" people.

It raised over 4.8 million dollars! Thank you to everyone from a single cent to a million dollars, all of them meant a lot. I think it wasn't illegal to get donations in crypto before but it wasn't legal neither, there wasn't really a law as far as I am aware, but during a period like this, who could say no to such a thing? I mean obviously it would be allowed so that we could help people a lot. With this, Ahbap (the foundation that got this money) explained that it will be used to rebuild the houses with governmental construction company called TOKI, they are the ones who built houses that did not even cracked during this period, it is obvious that they did a magnificent job before and this money (and all the other fiat money they raised) will be used to give the victims a free house built by that company and will most likely not have any troubles in the future. Main reason for this disaster was shameful constructors, thanks to TOKI people will live in solid and trustworthy houses, and it will be almost all free hopefully.

Also, cryptocurrency is faster - doesn't need to wait for business days to pass before the balance gets into the hands of the organizations that need it. Overall great job for the exchanges in banding together to make sure that donations will push through while also helping the Turkish government that sometimes, bans are not solutions to problems that they're facing.

When difficult things happen, for example the earthquake disaster that occurred in Turkey, many people want to help, the presence of cryptocurrencies makes it easy for anyone to help in difficult places, moreover blockchain transactions are more transparent because donation collectors will share these donations accompanied by blockchain transaction codes so that everything being easy to control, proof that the cryptocurrencies community is solid and useful for humans.

We experienced two major earthquakes in a row on the same day (7.6 and 7.7). The fault line of the earthquake was very close to the surface (7 km) and 10 cities were affected by this earthquake (millions of people were directly affected). I really don't know what to say because it's been about a week and I'm not in the earthquake zone but I still haven't gotten over the shock. We are in a state of national mourning. I hope that the money collected with this fund will provide some benefit for the earthquake victims. Thank you very much everyone for the help.

I know that the collection of donations for the benefit of the Turks in cryptocurrency is good for both parties, the Turks and the crypto, since both of them benefit in some way. The point that I would like to focus on is regarding Syria, which is not covered by any kind of such donations, especially since we know that crypto is almost one of the few ways that can help a people living under unfair international sanctions and in dire need of the simplest types of assistance even before the earthquake disaster.
Why do these initiatives not include them and why is there an almost exclusion of them, even though even their state (the Source system in the first place) does not pay attention to them and may not even be able to do so.

This means the crypto community is very generous when it comes to this situation, as people there really need financial aid. I am hoping that they can quickly recover from this catastrophe. I remember before when a lot of people here in the community donated some crypto for the help to Ukraine, which they also accumulated huge amount and posted updates here about it. I am just shocked that they banned crypto in Turkey, but will they unban it after this? as they see how it greatly helps their country, or will they still continue to ban it?

This is a lesson to other countries that banning Bitcoin is not the solution to thier economic problem. The currency does more good than harm. Bitcoin is a a trans-border currency that can help nations overcome some restrictions imposed by national currencies. It has the potential of becoming a legal tender anywhere regardless of the kind of bilateral relationship are county have with another. Each time there are conflicts or natural disaster Bitcoin has always proved to be a major pathway for easy donations. I know most government want to control the financial sector of thier country but they should atleast allow the people to determine thier payment options.

My heart goes to the victims of this earthquake. Many happy homes have been destroyed by this unfortunate incident. I just hope these innocent victims will still find peace, joy and love.

finally accepting the positive potential they can have in a society, including during crisis times like the one Turkey is suffering right now.

Don't know yet how the current condition of crypto policy in Turkey is, but in this case natural disasters are unexpected incidents which in the restoration process can be softened while policies are contradictory as long as they don't have a continuous risk. To change the policy, I think they will still follow the procedure especially measuring how much ability they have to handle the risk side.
Seeing crypto donations are getting huge and these could be very useful in restoring the country again so most likely, the country will start taking the positive side of bitcoin and maybe revise the country’s policies if it’s really needed. But this would also mean taking some risks legalizing cryptocurrency that is why, the country should dig deeper about it before they can decide whether to legalize it or still ban it continuously.

Probably, after this sad event, the government will start taking some research about bitcoin and start consider its positive side, so hopefully the government will be more open about bitcoin and cryptocurrency and consider legalizing it in the future.

Probably not legalizing it or something along that line but to allow donations to go through their country in form of cryptocurrency. Some goverments are skeptical though about this stuff but honestly no one can really reject all those donations even if it comes from some 'illegal' stuff. You cant reject donations from some drug dealers so there is no reason to reject donations in cryptocurrency just because the country is not allowing it

Raising crypto-based donations has proven to be efficient from all sides, especially for natural disasters which definitely require as much emergency financial injection as possible. Besides being able to reach unlimited donors at all levels, the donations collected will be realized more quickly.

This should be used as an emergency solution by the government in any country.
With that, legalizing cryptocurrency is the best option. In order to create bigger funds for emergency funds, crypto should be adopted so that they will also gain a huge amount of crypto donations and benefit them when there are sudden calamities and disasters that will hit the country again. Also, that would  give opportunities for crypto enthusiasts to finally get out from their shell and explore more about crypto and what it has to offer in the country.

Avalanche (AVAX), which Turkish professor Emin Gün Sirer founded, donated $1 million, while Waves (WAVES) founder Sasha.waves donated $50,000 on the first day.

So the vast majority of these are Avalanche (AVAX), Waves (WAVES), and the transfers did not provide a revolutionary service. For example, transfers for donations in Syria are prohibited due to international sanctions, so they are just an addition and help to the Turkish people.
Other crypto are donating to Syria as well probably in a different way, and maybe the sanctions are lifted for the sole purpose of donating for the earthquake victim.

We will never know the status of the crypto ban once Turkey receives high donations from the crypto community, I am sure that the government will review again and maybe cancel the crypto ban or release a limited functionality crypto usage regulation. however, I am touched by the concern of the crypto community who are very enthusiastic about making donations to ease the burden on victims of the earthquake disaster in Turkey, whoever the participants have made a donation should be praised and thanked them because the crypto community is very generous and the highest social care community donates the highest value , I hope the donation will be useful for the earthquake victims and hope they will recover soon from their previous condition.
