Great question TotalShift, glad you asked.
The worldsecuresystems.com domain is a part of service provided by Adobe Systems Incorporated for web developers. Crypto Ball uses Adobe Creative Cloud (an entire suite of creative applications) for a whole range of creative tasks, from designing digital assets with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to web development with Dreamweaver and Adobe Edge. Included in this is our use of Adobe Business Catalyst, an all-in-one solution for the server side aspects of web development and maintenance, indeed we host Crypto Ball with Adobe Business Catalyst.
We do this because it provides us with a harmonious creative and technical solution from concept to completion. It also affords us a great deal of stability and security - Crypto Ball is built using industry leading software and is hosted within the infrastructure of global company. One thing that comes part and parcel with using Business Catalyst is a secure version of one's registered domain. Whilst our website is
http://cryptoball.io, the secure version of our website is
https://cryptoball.worldsecuresystems.com - as provided by Business Catalyst.
Of course many sites simply buy a cheap SSL certificate and get an "https" stuck on the front of their website, but this is far from the whole story and whilst it might look prettier or cleaner on first appearance, there can often be gaps relative to a more thorough security solution for the same price.
Right now, given Crypto Ball is so young in its long life, using the service provided by Business Catalyst is the most cost effective security solution we can offer our users - and we take security very seriously.
The end of the URL you noted, "home-night.html", is a some subtle help on our part, whilst also being a bit of fun. Given Crypto Ball always works on Coordinated Universal Time, or UTC, (to provide consistency across all Predictors), it can sometimes get confusing for people using the site all over the world as to what time Crypto Ball is on. Once thing we do to help is provide a Time Difference Widget in the top right hand corner. When clicked, it will show the time according to UTC, Local Time and difference between the two. But the other thing we do is have a different home page depending on whether it's night or day according to UTC - the night version is dark with a spooky nighttime soundscape, whilst the day version is bright with an enchanting daytime soundscape.
It's only a little thing, but hopefully it helps, and if nothing else provides a little variety to set users off on their Crypto Ball experience.
WOW, that was a long answer, but we hope it helps answer your question. Do let us know if you want to know anymore.
