I am sure this is common for all developing countries. The reason being that there are no resources or infrastructure required for this. People have access to smartphones (as they have become cheap with time) but internet is not available to everyone. Also, people are not much educated or financially aware here. I do not see this changing unless government takes some concrete steps in this direction.
