it's so I just opened up a coin base account (turned 18 a while ago) and I have been looking at the market Best Private Lenders for High Risk Personal Loans South Africa and shit is down bad, Has anyone got any advice on this? what coin should I buy and has anyone got any discord/telegram chats to join for these topics?
First of all, are you aware Bitcoin is risky, Bitcoin is volatile and Bitcoin is best for long term investment? Because if you didn't, here is a reminder, and for a start, knowing the basic crypto knowledge will be the best way to start from, because I always tell people, having the needed basic information about an investment plan you are intending to venture into is always a good idea. Because Bitcoin is not an investment get rich quick scheme, of which if that's what you had in mind, i'm sorry to disappoint you. So if you are looking for a coin to buy, I highly recommend Bitcoin for you..
But there are some advice I will love to give as someone who has been into this for long

1. Don't you ever borrow money to invest in Bitcoin, having the mindset that in few days it might double in price, you sell and payback your loan, because bitcoin is volatile and nobody can accurately predict it's future price.

2. Don't you ever invest in a coin without thorough research

3. Don't you ever invest in a coin because of social media hype.
So I hope these few are good enough for now

If you want to keep moving in bitcoin, BitcoinTalk is probably the most suitable forum for that. What about other social networks and forums - there are a lot of them, I advise you to choose carefully and on your own, because many may be created to advertise something.

If you intend to hold for a long time or mid-time and get a good profit, then I will prefer to buy Bitcoin. Buying altcoins means you want to make quick money from trading or short-time holding which is quite risky. Altcoin sometimes becomes useless like the Luna scam. So learn first before taking the risk. Hold some Bitcoin and learn. Then you will realize what you need to do.
There’s actually no better coin to invest in currently other than Bitcoin since it is currently experiencing some fluctuations in the market in terms of its price movement, so for anyone who is looking to go into cryptocurrency this moment, the best investment there is the Bitcoin – any other thing is not promising. Since, the price is fluctuating constantly, just look for a favorable price, buy and just hold till we get in a bullish season.

Buy Bitcoin and ignore everything else, as simple as that. And after you buy Bitcoin, don't keep it on Coinbase but instead send it to your own non-custodial wallet like Electrum or if you can afford it, get hardware wallet which is even safer way to store your crypto.
Regarding Discord and Telegram groups, be very careful when joining those as they are plagued with scammers and shillers.
Couldn't agree more. Bitcoin has the longest history in cryptocurrency market, and it is tested by time for quiet a long time. It is always your first trust entering cryptocurrency market. It is not just we had a good run, but we are about to get a good run! But not ignore the saftey of beholding it. I mean, you don't want to say I counld have it all Cheesy

If I understand it correctly, you're going to take a loan for you to purchase the suggested cryptocurrencies that you're about to invest in? First things first, you're doing it wrong if you're going to have that loan for the sake of investing in the crypto market. It's never been a good idea but if I understood it wrong and you're just choosing something to buy, everybody will tell you that the best crypto to buy will be bitcoin. After that, Ethereum is the next best choice and as a newbie that's really something that you need to remember.

Majority of us will recommend we to buy Bitcoins as you are in a Bitcointalk forum and we all have seen what it is capable of.
Right now many people will suggest you many coins by seeing the chart of Bitcoins in red, but believe me, soon the table will change. It’s better to buy Bitcoins now and hold for some time. You will definitely get good profit.
And also a small tip, after buying the Bitcoins at coinbase or from anywhere, move it to a hardware wallet, as online wallets have many risks and you don’t have complete access to your funds.
Moreover I would also advice you to stay away from telegram groups, as these are the hub of scammers.
Rest is up to you OP to decide.

i don't know how long the OP is in this market, but to make sure he won't be screwed by these new projects, i would also suggest to buy some bitcoins also rather than those unfamiliar coins that you can find in coinbase. and yes, by the way, he doesn't need those telegram groups or discord channels to learn more about promising coins to invest with. if he will invest his time on this forum going to the trading discussion board, altcoins and other related boards, he will gain more insights about valuable crypto projects. because with these social media channels, the chance of getting screwed is very high as some of these individuals will try to lure you on coins you never-heard of.

There are lots of coin and tokens out there but Bitcoin is always the best because of it originality. If you are buying coin from your preferred exchange that's nice because you signed up with them but it would be on a safer side for you to transfer your coin immediately after purchase so as to avoid hearing stories that touches the heart because these days it is just funny how we sleep and wake to hear about sad incidence of hack and crack. OP I believe you must know how to set up a wallet so it would better you do that on your own so as to keep safe your passphrase because that's he key to your wallet rather allowing someone to install and activate your wallet for which gives them access to your assets. You gat to be smart.

Bitcoin is the most reliable coin to buy this time. Less risky compared to investing in altcoins. But if you want to diversify and not contented in just one coin, you can look for other alts that are already establish, just be careful.

Anyway, you dont need to look for other crypto related groups for similar topic. This forum is already full of information that you need about crypto. Just use the search button to get the answers of what you're looking for.

Why do you even care about private lenders for high risk personal loans? Do you want to borrow money from such lender? I advise you to stay away from lenders and loan companies. Other members already gave you a decent advise. Just buy BTC and HODL for the long term(and don't trust Coinbase). If you want to do day trading with leverage that's a completely different topic. Day trading doesn't seem like a good idea for a young person like you.
If you want to discuss crypto on Discord just search for cryptocurrency related Discord servers on Disboard. AFAIK, Disboard is the biggest directory for Discord servers. Watch out for scam servers, Discord is full of scammers and scam servers.

ETH and stake it.

But if you are taking out a loan to do it, then STOP!  Buying crypto on loans always ends in tragedy.
Investing in crypto is always a gamble!

You will regret it later on. Pay heed to my advice and save yourself from inevitable destruction if you follow this path.
instead, take out a loan for college and study CS. Given your age, this is the only good investment for you and nothing else. Trust me. Good luck!

My friend, buy bitcoins.
Buy Bitcoin when everyone is selling. Look at the recent market.
When everyone says this market is shit and they just want to sell, you buy and wait. that's all.

Everyone is hammering on the importance and the need for you to invest on Bitcoin i too will advice you same and will also love you heed to it because the crypto market is full of scam projects and the Bitcointalk community will not like to see a newbie fall into the arms of this scam projects littered everywhere around the crypto market. When you buy always remember to have full custody of your coin never leave them in exchanges because as long as your coin remains there they are not your even when you bought them.

Op, you're young and likely very new to investments, so going over the basics is important.
1. Invest ONLY what you can afford to lose. If you rely on some funds for something, don't invest them into anything. Breaking this rule can result in big problems.
2. Crypto investments are risky, but Bitcoin is probably the safest. So you can buy BTC, wait for a year (sometimes more, sometimes less) and you are likely to get good returns on the investment (but of course there's no guarantee).
3. Remember that if you keep your crypto on a centralized exchange, the coins aren't technically yours. So you can buy whatever you decide to invest in on Coinbase, but you should then withdraw the funds to an Electrum wallet or something. Make sure you save the pass phrase, though, or you can lock you out of access to your own coins, and nobody will be able to help.

Bitcoin is the right choice to buy, and ignore the others
Buy is easy and you can complete a purchase in a few seconds. Very easy and very fast. But before and after buying, you must have reasons to buy it, reasons to hold it and why you sell it in future.

Quote
but behind Bitcoin there are two other Altcoins that are highly recommended I recommend BNB and Ethereum, and others are better to ignore
Ethereum, BNB are good and BNB can help you has higher increase in portfolio.

Quote
I recommend regarding Telegram groups and Discord avoid and be careful Be careful with Scammers who roam on such platforms, lest you become one of the victims of their scams and it is a pity if this will happen to you, these "Shillers and Scammers" are very roaming on Platforms such as Discord and Telegram.
You can join groups of projects on Telegram or Discord. You must protect yourself from scammers who usually send you a lot of PM. They impersonate moderators just want to steal your key, your coin. If they ask you key or coin, report them.

You're already good that you've posted here, you don't need more of those channels, discords, or telegrams because it's going to be more complicated for you since many of the people there are looking for newbies to scam.
Just go first with bitcoin and that's the best choice of all. If you're buying bulk on any exchange, don't leave it there and just make a wallet where you're the one who's holding the private keys.

If I were you I would not borrow loan to buy coin, because it might affect or disappoint you in you plan. Remember the bear market now. but if must buy, go for bitcoin and I preferably you used your personal money to buy it so that even you lose it will not affect you much. I have seen and heard of persons did what you are planning and later broke down in tears. Crypto currency investment has a calculated risk, once you miss out, yours is gone. Therefore, invest what you can lose when it happened.

You came to a bitcoin forum and posted in a bitcoin section asking what coin to buy? What answer do you expect to get? Buy dogecoin because this is the future - Musk says so! Cheesy
There are coins with a purpose and there are shitcoins with no purpose. For instance the purpose of dogecoin is being a joke and showing people that anything can be turned into a cryptocurrency, even an old meme that people aren't using anymore. The purpose of bitcoin is to give you a way to store money that other's can't take from you at an airport or a country's border. They cannot tax it and they cannot stop you from spending it. Bitcoin is what matters!

Investing in crypto is very risky, especially if you take out a loan and it will be more risky, you should study it well first and this forum is a very good place to learn and seek knowledge for you. And if you ask a question, there will be a lot of people who will tell you and also give you good advice.
and the best way to own crypto or bitcoin is to buy when you have extra cash or buy as you can afford, and buy gradually when the price drops and keep doing analysis, like current price and hold for long term. Forget and ignore everything you mentioned because there is no guarantee for you to be as successful as you hoped.

This forum can offer better credible information when compared to some telegram groups. Don't get me wrong, there are still some very good telegram groups to join, but the number of bad, deceitful and dubious ones seems to supercede the good ones these days. To you a newbie looking to buy a coin mostly your motive is to make profit quickly, some of these telegram groups can still tell you to buy bitcoins, but you should buy from them and expect good returns (this is dubious).

If you really want to invest, invest in Bitcoin with your eyes closed, and Bitcoin is now at Perfect Dip. This is the best time to invest long-term. The idea is to go further dip ahead but I don't think it would be right to be late. Now if you invest for long-term, you can easily make almost three times the profit. You don't have to worry about the security, so buy and hold Bitcoin. Best of luck

You are in perfect place and already many have replies that buy bitcoin. My suggestion will be also that if you are gonna invest in this situation of cryptocurrencies market then bitcoin is the best solution for you. You can invest in it without any worries it will  gives you the best security. And I also advised you that refrain from investing in alt-coin in this situation. At present it is very risky to invest in alt-coins. But investing in top alt-coins like BNB, Ethereum will not be bad. But in my opinion Bitcoin will be the best for investment.

Obviously Bitcoin. Buy when bitcoin is at a high, sell when the price plummets. In reality, this is easier said than done, even for experts.
As I personally didn't follow any discord/telegram chats but careful when you joining those groups due to nowadays, everywhere is scammers.

There are many threads in here that discuss the current bitcoin price as it was mentioned above. The main goal is simply to buy as cheap as possible and then never sell. If you can get enough coin sin the bear market you should be good. But still just constantly buy like for X amount per month till the price goes to your desired target.

Buy when everyone is selling and sell when everyone is buying.
You are in at a great time; to purchase cryptocurrencies at a cheaper rate compared to a couple of months ago. When the market is dipping, that's a good time to buy, and you don't necessarily have to sell once it goes up, or a least, do not liquidate your entire stash. Plan your profit margin, within medium to long term.

Has anyone got any advice on this? what coin should I buy
Bitcoin

any discord/telegram chats to join for these topics?
I do not have any, and you should be careful when joining communities that discuss what to buy or market conditions. Many of them are pump and dump groups.
There is the Wall Observed thread to discuss Bitcoin price movements here on the forum.

So.. you actually prefer buying assets that are up a lot already? If so, you might want to re-think this investing thing.

But yea — If you're asking us what to buy and what to do with your money, then you obviously don't know what you're doing.

if you know enough about things like mining and stuff or look at the 2 year market prices

simply look at the coins price and guage it on a score of where the prices had sat at in the last couple years
cheapest-expensive
EG
$15k            $70k
||||||||||||||||||||
and see where the price currently sits.
and then mark where the current price sits within that window

its a lil important to see what the cheapest mining are/were and where the 2 year LOW/high of market is and was to work out how much wiggle room is left at the low end compared to the price

EG bitcoin is at the low end
where as ethereum has alot of wiggle room to fall. (most efficient mining is lot cheaper than current price and going to get a HECK OF ALOT cheaper.. be warned)

if you are buying.. a price going down is not bad..
call it discount the lower it is the less you pay the more you get.
however dont get too obsessed with trying to wait for the ultimate bottom.
especially if prices are already in the good green region already

if you can work out that a coin has alot of wiggle room left where a recent LOW or mining cost is alot less then current price, meaning the price s in the orange zone. then yea wait it out you might get lucky.
and yea if its in the red zone like if a coin is in a current high/new ATH dont buy..
but if its in the green relax and be ok to buy in. knowing odds are in your favour, you just have to have patience

I'm not active there but you can try the (unofficial) bitcointalk discord https://discord.com/invite/ahgHyku Forget it. You're looking for groups that will suggest what to buy and I don't think they'll be discussing other coins there.

I remember joining channels created by some crypto 'expert/guru' back in 2017 and members discussed a lot of stuffs that's happening in the market. I left the chat after they started shilling and debating about certain coins/tokens. It's what has become of most crypto groups today and it's unproductive to stay there.

Well, since you are in bitcoin forum, then most probably people including me will recommend you to buy bitcoin.

Because one, most of the altcoins have become shittier in the long run, and some of them are always on the brink of collapse when the market crashes leaving bitcoin the safest coin to invest especially for newbies alike.

I can go on but I think you get my point.

With regards to communities, this forum alone is enough.
