Welcome to Bitcointalk.

You are in the right place to know more about Bitcoin. We are all beginners with much to learn about Bitcoin and others. And if Bitcoin is very well known in your area, your knowledge about Bitcoin should be more than theirs because you can get more knowledge from this forum.

And when you study later, you might find interesting things such as fraud that often occurs in the name of Bitcoin, even though the fraud has nothing to do with Bitcoin. You can explain this to your people especially if the investment program may have deceived people in your area.

It would be better to join a local group in your country to share with other friends. It will help to increase your knowledge about Bitcoin. And you can also learn to become a strong Bitcoin investor.

OP, this is me welcoming you to the forum with a warm embrace 🤗. This is a nice place to learn Bitcoin and cryptos in general with ease if you're ready to commit to research. By the way, your moniker is suggestive of your nationality and I want to believe I'm right on this one. I don't know if your friend who introduced this forum to you also told you about the Nigeria local board. If they didn't and you're interested in meeting the rest of the gang, here's the Nigeria (Naija) link. In addition, peruse the links user Cantsay sent you and read up on the rules governing this forum so you don't fall short of any. There are dire consequences for breaches. Once again, you're welcome o' compatriot.

If it's truly restricted to transact and trade with crypto in you place, yet, you're still hearing lot's of buzz from your local people, I can only guess the laws aren't being enforced lol.

However, try to still look more into the the legality of cryptocurrencies in your place particularly about repercussions and decide if it sits right with you. There are ways to obfuscate tracks but that is something that needs to be learned and may not be beginner friendly depending on the extent.

Hope I get a warm welcome and I will also try to see it to that many folks that are into Bitcoin come about locating the wonderful forum .
Well I can see some folks here from Bangladesh still doing stuffs with Bitcoin. I believe Bangladesh still bans the usage of Bitcoin, but I am not sure these  times. Either way, it doesn't stop people from investing in Bitcoin since there are just plenty of ways to do it.
Crypto sites banned? People would just use VPN.
Government not allowing the hodling of crypto? People would still be able to personal trades.

I've been skeptical in the first day when I cleared my misconception about Bitcoin, but it's all going to be just fine if you start small. Kinda rids of the large risk, ey?

Welcome to the forum, OP by the way!

Because many people are saying crypto is the future currency, as we have seen there's a country accept Bitcoin as legal tender, Blackrock accepting Bitcoin ETF, and any other centralized entity that started to invest in Bitcoin.

Currently there's no crypto hype, so I'm not really hear about people are talking a lot about crypto. Where is metaverse? seems like no one discuss it anymore.
the hype will still come later, now a lot of FUD is coming out and that is the reason the crypto market is still bearish. there will be good news for crypto later, we just have to wait for the Halving to happen later, it will be a starter hype crypto starting to appear. Looking at the history of Bitcoin, you can be sure that during the previous halving, Bitcoin was successful in reaching its highest price and continued to grow. We are close and we must be ready.

Welcome to the forum, @OP. It's wise of you to have finally jolted out of your state of scepticism about Bitcoin because it's really one great asset that a lot of people are really investing their money in. It doesn't mean that Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick scheme, but it helps investors earn from it if they buy during the dip and hold until a bull market. Bitcoin investment is sometimes not really very profitable for those that chase after a short-term profit with Bitcoin, but if you keep accumulating your Bitcoin gradually and hold it for a long time, then you will make some significant profit, but that will also depend on the amount of funds that you invest. While you journey through the crypto space, make sure to also take the handling of your security seriously, unless you want to lose your asset. I believe you are aware that if you lose your asset, you can't get it back.

Welcome to the forum.
I have read your topic carefully before coming to react to it. According to what you have written, I can say that you are not an absolutely newbie to the Bitcoin community. You have heard about bitcoin and it is right in your neighborhood according to your introduction. Just that the government of your country does not permit that you should trade bitcoin with fiat and yet people maneuver to find their ways which makes bitcoin undying in your residence. I also assume that your friend or whosoever that introduced you to this noble forum has also told you about how things goes here. The regulations and how the forum frowns against cheating, plagiarism and more. So in order to make your friend who brought you to this forum proud, you need to play according to the rules and then remain honest. Find your passion and explore the world of Bitcoin.
Welcome once more !

Hello and Welcome to the forum.

Although everyone who has replied to your thread before me has shared important links and provided important information to you. Still, I would like to ask one question. Did you read the whitepaper on Bitcoin? You will be able to find almost every information needed to understand Bitcoin, it would be great if you read the whitepaper yourself. It will help you to understand why everyone living in the world should have Bitcoin and what changes it has made to the world. Sharing the link to the Bitcoin whitepaper for you. If English is not your native language, then you might find its translation in your language when you visit that link.

welcome to the forum, reading your story there must be quite a lot of people around you talking about and maybe owning Bitcoin. some people don't like Bitcoin and consider it a scam. I hope that doesn't happen in your environment.
in the forum you can discuss everything, If you are interested in investment or trading, you can look for the appropriate board for you to get information.

Just a suggestion, When you search and read more information on forums, your knowledge will be richer. many people who invest in Bitcoin don't even know Bitcoin. if you don't have Bitcoin it's not a problem. You can learn first and your investment doors will open someday.

Welcome to the forum, OP.
You are not alone in hearing about Bitcoin. The difference is, what exactly did you hear? A lot of people are terrified by this name, thinking that Bitcoin is a scam. Others are too enamored with Bitcoin and believe, believing that Bitcoin will take them out of poverty forever and make them rich.
Try to take a sober look at Bitcoin, having learned not only the advantages but also the disadvantages. Draw your own conclusions by reading the topics, of which there are a lot on the forum, and you will probably become a permanent member of this society, acquiring not only the right knowledge about Bitcoin but also many new friends.

Most of the fellows already gave a warm welcome to you so not being redundant I would like to say that if you are really interested in learning you need to struggle here because now most of the topics created in the section whether it's about the Bitcoin Discussion or the Trading or altcoin you will find the topics and questions asked by the Newbies if there is a question then you can find some useful insights by reading the feedbacks o the senior members.

I would say that if you want to learn in a better mode you should have to ask seniors, on your local board about the best topics created by the old members.. They can give you references to those threads and after reading a useful thread you can judge the topic by 100 views because there will so many comments on the thread and opinions by different users, This is what I like most about the forum. Its time taking but more efficient. In other way you can ask for the topics after getting engaged with he discussion on any thread, most of the times if senior finds the repitive topic they give the other references as well.

Enjoy you journey.

First off, welcome to Bitcointalk.
Second, it's good that you open an account here so that you can see the crypto is for real. We understand that there are a lot of skeptics just like you.
But that is ok, the sooner you admit that this is not a scam or something, the better.
I will advise you to go and read a lot from this community. You can ask questions from time to time if you don't understanding something. But reading will be your best weapon here as a starter.
And don't forget to read about the rules so that you won't break any that can make your account ban from this community.
