How can there be only 24 million user in South American, when El Salvador has opened accounts for every its citizen and is in a process of distributing them 30$. El Salvador population is 6.5 millions, and it is not most populated South American country. Venezuela has a lot of crypto users. Do Brazilians use crypto? I think yes. Its population is 205 millions. Something isnt right with this numbers on the first post.

Okay so i stumbled across this post on twitter and i thought to share it among fellow members,
it shows the growth of crypto around the world, (Over 300 million users around the world) although am not sure how authentic the data or source of the data is, but it is interesting to see how crypto is gradually spreading in different part of the world and would continue spreading in years to come.
Whats your take on this.

300 million users ? isn't really authentic because i believe that the record shows the Bitcoin wallet address in existence and not the literal users of crypto around the world as the users mostly wanted to be anonymous and are not on the side of letting the world to know who they are.

so I know that there are no concrete data of crypto users around the world.

the happiest is when the war broke out and bitcoin took over the role in a transaction. indirectly they think, fortunately there is bitcoin, so that when fiat cannot be used, and bitcoin is meaningful in that situation. From the developments that have been mapped out, I think there will be more and more bitcoin users, and when more and more people are using them, then of course this can urge the government to make regulatory changes.
lol who would be happy with the war? just to increase the transaction of crypto you are wishing for the war to broke on ?

I know that of course it's an estimation but the numbers, in my opinion, make sense. It also gives us an idea of how much space for future growth there is, which is enormous! It would be interesting to see this chart next year, probably we could see that the number of users doubled!

If I may say, crypto currency is used in all the countries in the whole world. Both the countries that make it legal or the countries that make illegal.

https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/041515/countries-where-bitcoin-legal-illegal.asp

Crypto currency is not a physical cash whereby a government will come and Stop it. It is an online digital currency for buying and selling of goods and services, so to what extent a government of a particular country can stop it. If any country want to stop the uses of crypto currency indirectly, he is planning to stop the use of Internet.

Therefore, if internet services reached all Countries, every country directly or indirectly uses crypto currency. Government can't stop that because the citizens will use their personal devices to navigate the internet and use it in anywhere they found themselves if there is network in their dwelling places.

Really? 300 Million? That is around 4% of the world population, if this is really true I think this is a pretty good number. But I am pretty unsure about the distribution that you are giving in terms of continents because I always expected North America would be someway around the Asian mark because in China Bitcoin is under a partial ban sort of thing which means users won't really hold a wallet there, which means all these users are coming from either India or Indonesia, Pakistan & Bangladesh. Also Europe's adoption is also just 5% of their total population so even that isn't too high, one can easily say there isn't a big difference between developed nations and developing nations here.

The main takeaway with this map is that there is a growing trend of people who are getting interested with cryptocurrency, starting mostly with Bitcoin and then the most popular alts. And this is a big movement that is so hard to stop because even in China where the government had already banned all forms ad types of cryptocurrency there are still many who are into it. I am just wondering if people in  El Salvador has already been counted on this statistics. Now, with some states of USA and maybe small countries similar to El Salvador about to recognize Bitcoin there is a big possibility that by 2023 the figure could already have ballooned a lot.
I am more on this opinion. Both charts above can be considered as approximate percentages. Problem of accurancy.
I am pretty sure that the number of users is in exponential growth after all the events occured just last month ; The war of Ukraine , EU refuses the law to ban mining activities ; Ukraine officially adopt cryptocurrencies ; Ukraine lunch a website dedicated for donations using bitcoin and eth ... i think the image lacks athe presence of China as the main influencer effectively .

We can't tell how accurate the data is since not everyone would like to share that they have been using Bitcoin or crypto currency. So I don't know who took that but it must be something from the exchange that they took the data to represent as how many are using crypto currency. Although, if we just have to talk about crypto currency users maybe there are lots of them since bounty hunter also may be counted as one of the user but it doesn't specifically tell us that these are Bitcoin users. Maybe for some time Bitcoin adoption will expand more as most bounty hunter would turn to Bitcoin traders/user.

No one can officially and accurately know how many Crypto enthusiast exist around the world. But I can say for a certain that crypto-currency has really been on the rise recently.
Now in my country we even have established crypto-currency vendors, crypto-currency workshop and lectures and more, the community keeps on increasing and that has been amazing so far. I can say that the estimation there is lower than what we should be having.

For me, this kind of data is not so accurate for sure because even when I imagine how they will start collecting the data and start giving such numbers is difficult.
But for me, there are already some tools that somehow they can use to get some data even not so accurate.

I really can't wait in the future when cryptocurrency will become common or normal to most of the people.

I believe a few hundreds of millions of crypto users around the world is quite accurate, I've seen similar numbers many times. But I think it's a huge generalization to make maps like this, uniting huge chunks of the world into clusters and writing big numbers of users. Some countries can have huge adoption rates, while others might not be into cryptos at all, and such map destroy such differences. Also, if you add all numbers, you get 283 million, whereas it says there are over 300 million users. They can't all be in Antarctica, which isn't on the map, sooo something is missing.

Crypto offers us an convenience, so there is no any crucial term that have to be filled. This is why Crypto become solution for people who is unbankable. We can see the convenience of using crypto in Russian war, although they are banned in economy policy by US, They can still make international transaction with cryptocurrency.
yes I also read about how ukraine received assistance using cryptocurrency media which of course will not be banned by anyone. The ease of using crypto is perfect in an emergency such as the war going on between Russia and Ukraine. Cryptocurrencies span the globe and will not be centralized.
people around the world already know about ceypro and its users will certainly be more and more, more than the current data.

Every now and then the regulation of governments from some countries still continue. If you are a bitcoin user living from one of those countries, what can you feel? Did you feel a major change the way you use your crypto?

I think the effect will also depend on the individual because other bitcoin users can comply with it easily while others are not but you shouldn't say happiness when you are talking about the recent war because people between those country have suffered a lot especially in Ukraine. Sure thing bitcoin have became the star from that war but bitcoin can still be used on the same purpose even if there will be no wars.

It is evident that the moving force in cryptocurrency as a whole is unstoppable, the rate at which it users increases across the nooks and crannies of the globe really worth it, while my joy is seeing the massive adoption starting right from regions it was first rejected and place on ban, now the enlightenment about bitcoin broadened the scope of limiting factors to it acceptability. Bitcoin the best ever first decentralized digital currency.
Yes, this is common to experience around the world. Most of the countries that were opposing the usage of cryptocurrencies and made a ban is now getting used to cryptocurrencies. Same is with the popular people around the world. Recently Peter Thiel, Co-founder of PayPal said getting too late and too little into bitcoin is the biggest mistake he did in this decade. So, it takes time for people to realise and when we realise it looks like an opportunity missed forever.

Anyone with little graphics design knowledge will just cook some rough data and present it to the world and the representation is not even well organized, a bar chart would have been better with the numbers of populations.
By now, at least a single person knows what cryptocurrency is all about now in every country, thanks to the last bull run but the main goal is to let them use it, hold it and also buy and sell, it will not just bring popularity, it will be a revolutionary to everyone, especially my African continent.

It is inevitable for cryptocurrency to spread widely on different areas/continents. Technology rises and so does the accessibility of us, humans, to the internet and how easily people influence their peers with whatever it is that is trending on social media, and of course, there comes along cryptocurrency, NFTs, trading, and many other more investments possible.

Although the data you provided is still questionable, but I am quite sure that it is true that cryptocurrency has spread all over the world and is growing every day. Indeed cryptocurrencies have attracted the attention of many people all the time. So I'm personally not that surprised by the spike in users in every country as well as around the world. I take an example from my personal environment, and that is enough to give me reasons why I believe in it.

The graph shows an interesting statistic. The progress that crypto has achieved throughout the world is exponential, it is useful for the strengthening of bitcoin, altcoins and the birth of other projects.
Because it is no secret to anyone that we are evolving: NFT, GameFi, WEB3, Metaverse. New projects compete in offering either low fees or zero fees and at lightning speed.

The Asian market is undoubtedly large and experienced in crypto. From my point of view, communities are being created around the world so that they can choose the best products that meet their investment expectations.
That is right, we are in a situation where the world of crypto is getting bigger and bigger. The fact that when you have millions of people in it, getting a few hundred thousand more people in it doesn't seem too daunting, when in fact just a few years ago it was such a big celebrated achievement.

This is why I believe that eventually we will reach to billions of people, at least over a billion easily, that actively use it. At that point I believe that bitcoin will be the biggest market cap in the world over everything else, over stock markets, over companies, over nations treasuries. We will definitely get there, we just need time for it.

How do they actually know how many crypto currency users are there? I think it is far from accurate unless they are using data from exchanges (still won't be accurate since not everyone uses an exchange, but some at one point does). If this is based on number of wallets, then keep you know, one users can have multiple wallets. Like 20 or 100s of them. So I doubt coming to any conclusion based on this chart would mean anything.

also, many users have an account for multiple exchanges, so this way of extracting statistics on the total number of users is completely irrelevant.
is even more pointless, how many only those who at one point made a wallet created an address maybe even received some amount on the same, and after that, they never used anything related to crypto again. I personally know a lot of such cases.
