As I appreciate Canaan hardware, I thought I buy one for a thorough review even though it is not the first time I own one A741.
But it is my first time getting my hands on the Sorcerer PSU.
And it is my first time buying from a distributor, so that experience can be documented in the review as well.

Avalonminers have the best reliability on the market. Just have a look in the forum on how many S9 have issues. The avalon 741 is still a good device with amazing quality, even though it has not the highest hashrate in its field. Avalon 8 with similar specs to s9 will come Q1 2018. More infos soon.

Am I missing something - these are almost 1/2 the hash power as the S9 and cost $900 US / S9 ($1415).

Yes but by general but yes, not Officially recognized/standardized, consensus, 12am aka 'midnight' means the start of the morning hours in said time zone and 12PM (noon) is the start of the afternoon hours...
