I spoke at length with the receivership attorney yesterday and a forensic investigator. They had hoped to reconstruct the Cryptsy website but it appears that Vern deleted the databases and wiped the disks the day of his departure.

The problem at this point is determining which coins belong to which users. The hired experts are attempting to recover the databases, but at this point it looks doubtful.

We will be asking the receivership to recommend to the courts that the coins be returned to the various communities whereby a system can be worked out to fairly redistribute the coins. In any case, I was told the legal process could possibly drag out for years.

What doesn't seem doubtful is Justice in one form or another.  Someone will find this man.

maybe,depends on what receivership will find in Cryptsy wallets and how successful they will be in seizing Vernon big house and other assets bought from Cryptsy members money.



I read that prosecution reopened investigation about Silk Road seized wallets theft 3 months ago and that they suspect that much more people and exchanges were involved in helping rogue agents to launder stolen BTCs.Vernon is probably very high on that list and it is much more serious thing for him.

is there a any chance to get my coins from craptsy?

At least 2 altcoin communities are working with the court-appointed receivership to ensure the remaining coins are returned to the rightful owners.

If you received an email with the subject Mtgox.Claim assessment process, delete it and do not click on the link it contains! This email did not come from Kraken, but was spoofed to look as though it came from our support email ([email protected]).

We do not know how the bitcointalk email addresses were obtained, however the bitcointalk database has been compromised in the past. You can be assured that this incident was not the result of any breach in Kraken’s database and your personal information with Kraken is safe.

To be fair, I've never encountered a bad hooker unless, that is, the definition extends to having your wallet stolen. TBC, the latter is based on a true story that may or may not have happened to me... at least once.
