For a person how didn't report directly to Paul Vernon, and living paycheque to paycheque, John MacPherson aka Horus sure the hell got his rocks off penning cease and desist letter whenever anybody looked at Cryptsy sideways, eh?

You removed the article because Horus e-mailed and asked you to?  Grin

Top notch journalism.

We gave them the benefit of the doubt. I thought since they seemed to care about their reputation by serving me this letter that there was actually a smear campaign going on here. I was obviously wrong as they wanted to protect their reputation for alternate reasons.
Horus the Sun God, the all knowing, seems to have forgotten everything. A lot of people trusted him and he lead people to the slaughter. It disgusts me see him trying to play everything off as if this has nothing to do with him.

Scarboro Masonic Lodge No. 653's Annual BBQ in Churchill Ontario Taken on June 23, 2012

I'd say that's why Horus kept his real name, John MacPherson, as private as possible - to conduct nefarious activities while under the thumb of Paul Vernon's Cryptsy unbeknownst to his fellow 'Brothers'. I'd further say that his days are numbered as being Chaplain of his apron-donning club.

How the fuck was it possible for me to read that name at least four dozen times and not notice that there's an 'a' missing? Further, why didn't a single person catch this earlier? Further still, why didn't Brother Leroy Fodor stick it up my ass sans lube?

I really thought there were technical issues.. I asked horus in chat if everything was safe and I will get my coins back he assured me I would..  that's why I kept my coins in there..
I'm a trust worthy person and when the mods in chat assured me it's merely a few tech issues I believed them..

Anyway... I won't trust any more exchanges again Wink took 3000 pounds to know that..

It makes me feel a bit sick. But I try not think about it. I hope those mother fuckers get some karma. They were holding lots of terrorists money which makes me think they may not be as snug as they should be

Yeah that got alot of people. I was in chat alot and saw it happening.
It was by luck that the SPEC scam perpetrated by MODS on Crapsty gave me the inkling they were all crooked. then Lady whale et al as a cheer squad assured it

I'm going to go out on a limb* here and say I'm still pretty sure Horus isn't a member of the clergy.

Or should that be out on a lim?

All cryptos are FIAT digital currency. Do not use.

In essence, John MacPherson (Horus) is chicken shit.

You guys ready to have some fuckin' fun with the dude who helped Paul Vernon rip off millions under the auspices of trust? I am! HAHAHA

The game is called "Pin the Tail on the Horus".

No one there looks anything like the guy in those videos...

The top pic was from 2012 where John MacPherson (Horus TS) had to stay under the aprons outta the sun. The immediate above pic from 2014 has Horus donning a apron shielding a newbie from the sun.

Soo.. .is it the Elvis impersonator wearing a priest's costume ? Roll Eyes

No one there looks like ..

Horus had a lot of people fooled. He abused the trust people had in him.
The fact that the scam was justified by Horus in the name of catching terrorists is particularly disturbing. Using our fears to push us to hand over private information, while at the same time holding our funds hostage. Its truly despicable.

Really if you didnt get coins out in the lead up to closure you must have your head in the sand, I used Crypsty alot but after a month or so of FUD figured best to take all coins out via smaller Alts.. not putting through withdraws on BTC/LTC for over a month is usually a pretty visible sign.

Amazingly, Leroy Fodor didn't have any issues entering and exiting Cryptsy all the way up to its final closure.

The documents from FinCen contain several screenshots of Cryptsy staff members on a popular bitcoin-related forum making claims about the validity of licenses, which were then verified by the agency on six separate occasions. Cryptsy later denied the posts publicly, but the various social media posts within the document attachments were certified as authentic by various federal computer forensics teams.

One organization began working with information from the Department of Homeland Security, and initiated an investigation of bank transfers to several banking institutions via sealed subpoenas. The records allege that the company platform was used  in money transfers to accounts linked with suspected terrorists. The document further alleges that Cryptsy had been used as a means of money laundering for some time, and that the company was aware of this activity and allowed it to continue.

 linked with suspected terrorists

they will hunt them till the end of days if this true

All we need now is that badbitcoin.org guy here to defend Cryptsy some more and say "It wasn't Cryptsy's fault but this slander will ruin them."

Someone posted  OCT 16TH, 2014 on pastebin. it appears to be solicitation by Vern to make deposits using Interac in Canada long after the so called hack.

Greetings Cryptsy User,

I don't normally send out emails to you guys, but I wanted to make sure you were aware that we now accept deposits using Interac in Canada. Since you have indicated you are located in Canada, this may be of interest to you.

Depositing via this method is instant and for a limited time there is no fee to deposit with Interac.

Ya but I'm not amused Sad

I disregarded the warnings and then it was too Late.

Ripple pretty much doubled since they went off line.

At Least the wallet balance hasn't moved.

i agree, it is not amusing that people are financially and emotionally impacted by this.

warnings can be difficult to follow when so much trust is built up through regulation of accounts as it was done at cryptsy

this is where the true deception worked, cryptsy informing customers that the United States Government was monitoring and regulating these emerging financial institutions, in particular in a time of terrorism and the money laundering associated with that, it was easy to believe

take some comfort in the fact all investments are risky
the GFC for one and other numerous scams in supposedly legal markets have caused the same impact on everyday people

does happen everywhere, and is still continuing in supposedly regulated legal markets
