I added them.  Didn't realize it was that easy to add a merchant.  Going to add all the missing locations from bitcoin.travel and the ones in Stephen's post on there too.  This map needs to be more populated!

EDIT:  added New Mexico Tea Company and Whiskey Dicks.  That wiki seems to have some problem with the code, and it doesnt display entries properly sometimes unless you put in longituge/latidude instead of an actual address.  You can find this with googlemaps by right clicking a spot and selecting "what's this."

Here is the official announcement from Cups and Cakes Bakery.  If you are in San Francisco, go check them out!  They are also catering the next bitcoin meetup.

and yes, if they already use a tablet or any smart device at the register, there is zero incremental cost to adding BitPay.

Wow, love that video  Cheesy

I got the same error when trying to upload to Youtube.  YouTube is detecting a copyrighted song on the soundtrack, and thus YouTube will not enable it for mobile.

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuobtQlE_e0

Kudos to Tom for putting it together! By the way, the cupcakes were delicious! They tasted all the more delicious whilst I bragged to all my co-workers about buying them in Bitcoin.

They're using BitPay's iPad POS solution--very slick!

Probably the exact same iPad they are using for Square register as well?  (i.e., there was no incremental cost for accepting Bitcoin?)

My girlfriend loves cupcakes, maybe she starts to like bitcoin more if a cupcake store in Finland also accepted bitcoin Cheesy

Any info what kind of system they used for accepting payments? Bit-pay, android wallet, POS?

Rockin!  I will pass this along to Sunrise Bakery...  I left a copy of Bitcoin Magazine on their counter for a month, but they don't accept bitcoins... yet!

Thanks Matt for your suggestions.  We rolled out an enhancement to the iPad invoice today, you'll have to go try it again Smiley

I'm hoping to get the final video from Tom very soon, so we can post it!

Stephen - they use an iPad at the point-of-sale.  you'll see it in the video.

Cupcakes sound so cute and innocent; they are the antitheses of the 'naughty' stuff Bitcoin haters seem to have top of mind when I talk to them.

Exactly!  And the cupcake shop, being the first cupcake shop in San Fran to accept bitcoins, got your business instead of some other cupcake shop.  The same type of business Meze grill in Brooklyn enjoys, Room 77 in Berlin, Whiskey Dicks in Orlando, and New Mexico Tea Company in Albuquerque all enjoy.

Out of curiosity, was this online (for delivery) or in-person?   If in-person, how did they do the transaction?  (e.g., on their mobile?  tablet?  or ?)
