Id still like to get another logo idea if anyone want to make something. If you make something nice we can talk about a little BTC for you art.

coin status - I can likely have a beta ready myself in ~ week.  Designing for the DDOS proof network of hidden nodes to run the integration of coin and folding is about satisfactory, little more checking for holes, but the system i have in mind will be very solid. Obviously i cant just let Cryptobullion and his one server do all the work! I should have actually announced cryptobullions pools as an alpha test of curecoin systems vs beta, next step will be beta, and there will be a curecoin (beta).....  i dont like to fudge things by not taking the little extra time to make it right. There will be 3 seed nodes, and 5 nodes of my "centralized bs to link us to folding" that are required to make it work.

For every X amount of coins mined in 24 hours of mining on curecoin, there will be an equal number of coins payed to folders.... So users of Curecoin might find it helpful to balance folding with mining depending on current folder to miner ratio. What we are doing with the pool now is getting samples to calculate with this method of splitting blocks between folders and miners. There will be a certain similarity for folding in that if there is more folders than miners, it will be harder to get coins via folding

The Beta coin might get designed as a short term coin designed to be abandoned in a few months - meaning no more coins after a few months, or maybe just 1 coin per block after ~3 months in case we need continue beta testing. - any comments on this idea... go easy... i just like this idea for 2 reasons, it says to the end users "experiment in progress, dont sell you house for these coins!" and reason number two is that people will need to move on to the official which will be much better then beta, since beta will be plucked of its coin cap.

1200R status

Current pace is ~500,000 PPD , rank 1200 is ~9 million points, we have 3,791,808 already. at 500k PPD we will be reaching 1200 in about 10 days.

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_summary.php?s=&t=224497   - this one estimates moving up over 836 ranks in 7 days, from rank 2,127 = Rank 1291 in 7 days.

the pump n dump i see on prime coin saddens me. i dont even have that many primecoin, it just seems unfair that the people who found the primes on their own pc's get little out of it because of market manipulation. The list of world record primes is epic!!!!

My hats off to sunny king, the first dev to release a true research coin.

I really like the logo idea, can u add the word cure in different languages around the logo ? Maybe just have the snake logo inside a circle to symbolize the coin idea?

The CDC / Center for Disease Control name was going to be used for the beta of curecoin, since its best to launch a large project in stages.

CDC was to be the beta and CRC would would good for official launch.

I wanted to make fun of the CDC a little by creating something that solves cures better then they probably do and name the call sign after them.

Although i think the CDC is one of the useful government funded organizations. better than funding the war machine. maybe if we just gave the rest of the world cures they wouldnt want to fight anymore.

the usefulness of government is a whole other discussion. I look forward to the day Stanford university adopts this kind of system and starts to become more powerful than the common government. The US dollar is a joke.... btc went from 3 cents to 250 dollars vs usd in a short amount of time. even prime coins were selling over a dollar each.

Quite dumping your prime coins people its a brilliant coin. Im saving mine... someday years from now if the planet is still intact these primecoins will be worth something.  I know ive paid a price in the hopes of advancement in technology. There has been a lot of hours ... months... into learning so i can properly launch curecoin.

I think beta stages of curecoin will also enforce a way of stopping pump n dump of the official curecoin.

By the time the official is out i hope to have a folding team that rivals any other team out there. After all, this is the point of curecoin, to encourage Folding@home .

Sorry, am I missing something? Why would Cloudcoin CDC have anything to do with Curecoin? Curecoin doesn't even have a 'D'?

Why not CRC? or CUC?

I'll see what I can do for the logo  Grin

Good ol, dumb NWO. CDC, Center for Disease Control

Going to attempt a beta launch of curecoin soon, the milestone of rank 1200+ should be an easy one for the Crypto community. At that point the curecoin folding team will have access with enhanced stats, enabling a whole list of possibilities.

Please only divert cards and cpus that are efficient for folding, no need use your 7850 as has been mentioned, a card that gets 300 k hash scrypt but only 4k pps. If you have those certain pieces of amd that fold fast  or any nvidia, this folding team is for you. Any decent cpu can actually fold very nice too.

Lets tare down the 1200 rank mark, enabling a whole list of possibilities.

Id love to be involved with other good standing cryptos and dev teams making new cryptos to incorporate into the curecoin system.

Contact me via pm with any ideas.

Come on over to the folding pool and get signed up... i just increased the payout rate and the user cap !!!! payout is now 1000 Global coins per round... vorksholk is topping the charts pretty good!

If you're worried about codes then how do you solve the country requirement?

The first two letters of the ISO 4217 three-letter code are the same as the code for the country name, and where possible the third letter corresponds to the first letter of the currency name.

CCS is still a option too.  Doesn't look to be taken by a real world currency yet if we're getting all ISO compliant.

Are you open to new designs for the coin?

like what? im hoping your about to offer to make a nicer logo  Cheesy

Yes, open to any input .

I think the logo should definitely have a Rod of Asclepius

Maybe hovering over a globe?

Obviously we can't stick to the standards all the time, and since the coins don't have issuing governments the country part is irrelevant (these standards were made before cryptocurrencies after all). The 3 letter code is the important part, and judging from the community and developers they all seem to agree (3 letter currency codes for most if not all coins).

Also remember I have no affiliation with CureCoin, other than I am folding on their team. What I say doesn't mean squat really :p

Edit: I do like the design idea, the Rod of Ascelpius is more distinguishable and clearly states what the coins goal is.

CRC is already used I believe, not 100% sure.

Why does it have to be 3 letters?  CC should work and the plural CCs sounds good too.  Plus, I don't think you want to take the name of a Federal Agency with CDC.

The 3 letters is to comply with ISO 4217, currency codes. http://www.iso.org/iso/home/standards/currency_codes.htm

Also, taking the acronym for a Federal Agency isn't really an issue, the bigger issue is Cloudcoin using the same currency code.

The source code for the official curecoin is ready for testing. I have some more logo ideas coming my soon from a supporter of curecoin. Last chance coming soon to submit a logo!!!!

Team is still on track to hit the 1200 Rank very soon. PPD is going back down a little, I just fired up 25000 ppd on my pc to give it a little boost back up.

Website to be launched ASAP.

Update, good news, I had mentioned the dev im working with was busy with his own project, but he did just contact me and is helping me fine tune the final client right now. (Exactly why i wanted to find an experienced dev, the coin model is looking very good)

Many many thanks to all his efforts.

Im still planning on releasing the short term beta of curecoin at this point, before the official is launched. I want to give stanford time to prepare for the big event. Ill give it another week and shoot an email and see what their report is.

I have room for some more team members. If anyone knows a lot of the folding client, I can use your help especially. There will be lots of users needing help to get the fullest from their folding clients. I wont be able to help them all. If i can get a small group of novice or expert folders to join me in helping provide support to new folders, it will make a big impact. So far username dudeami has been very helpful with getting new users up and going at the best speeds possible. Thanks dudeami ! Soon ill have a curecoin forum going again and we can start sharing our folding tips there.

If you have any ideas of how you can contribute, or just idea to spit out, plz post or pm me. The amount of support is growing quickly now, and its helping a lot.

If you have a blog, let everyone know about the current creation progress of curecoin, and point people to the current folding pool so we can build the team and hopefully make a dent in all the wu's at stanford.

Side note : We should be hitting the milestone 1200 way quicker than expected. Everyone on this team, THANKS!!!!!!!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Down to details, i want share these details so they can be discussed, argued, etc, until we hopefully reach a consensus. If need be we can add a poll or two to vote on whatever the community proposes.

Basic working of curecoin. 100 coins per block, 45 coins go straight to miners, 45 coins subsidy goes into a foundation folding wallet ( to be drained completely every 24 hours to all the folders ) and 10 coins goes into the Dev  wallet.

Here is my current thoughts, this is the 10 coins per block, split into smaller portions to be used as follows. If this is totally unacceptable ill scratch it. There is 20% of the budget left, because i know im forgetting something....

curecoin dev budget rough draft v1.1
10% advertising
10% forum promotions - including universisty forums.
10% For stanford university to improve folding network.
10% Dev future updates on coin source and folding integration system
30% nvidia hardware giveaways
10% website / hosting DDos protection for backbone nodes.
10% promoting services to accept / trade curecoins
10% Huh? need more ideas <<<<< more nvidia giveaways?? -- forgot to reduce this ten % when i increased Nvidia giveaway portion by 10 % - fixed  Roll Eyes

Im thinking about shaving 2% off all the item to add to the Nvidia GPU giveaways. Even though ATI now folds well, Nvida users wont get their cards and use them for mining, just one more way to increase the folding project.

As you see its a rounded numbers rough draft.  i think comparatively there are other coins with much larger dev budgets.

So far Ive funded this project with my own coins and the donations of others. Not one of those coins was used for anything but paying folders. I still have ~250 freicoins left from a donation months ago for a bounty to hit 1000000 points. this bounty goal was never reached ( will be soon ), but i held the coins even after my site was hacked an i lost contact with most of my folders.  Freicoin has been syncing fine forme last time i tried. if someone hits 1M they are yours. its not much, but its a promise to pay for effort.

I would have another site up and going already,  the last one had ~decent security upgrades, but i launched the site in a hurry, i have another properly secured forum that has stood tall for a year or so even through a barrage of attacks ( a gaming forum ). Its been months since ive made a post in my gaming forum. Not important compared to launching curecoin. Point is, ill get a site up... just give a little time so this time its secure, ill take my time on it. I might scratch the smf idea completely because it requires constant updates. Im only one man, im not sure if the devs i was talking to are still with me.... but its ok. Ive been making practice coins for months now. I plan on having a gui that isnt ass ugly too, I like doing gui design, i used to spend a bit of time customizing gui's on my own personal programs. The official is going to need to have a lot of work done.

The short term beta is going to be used as a scale to know what kind of difficulty retargets to use, and also get an idea of how fast coins will be produced, to create a proper coin cap that will not approach anytime soon. Im certainly not an economics buff, but i now know enough from watching other coins the basics of how it behaves due to these variables. Any economists feel free to give your 2 cents.

Since there is an immense amount of security required, im keeping in contact with Stanford. Their eyes are on us to make sure nothing goes wrong. Im not sure if he is allowed to directly endorse bitcoin as currency but he has given approval of the curecoin folding team. He informed me they are "preparing" for whats to come.  Their IT team should be able to handle security on their end.

Soon you will get a better idea of the work and learning i did to finally emerge with a solution to create curecoin.

Enough of my rambling, please send your input about the payout system and dev budget, feel free to poke holes in my idea.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The code required to make curecoin work is getting closer to complete. i have been working on the overall design of the system ever since i announced it months ago... learning all i can to make sure curecoin is done right. Sure, i could have done a quick cookie cutter, but ive been in contact with a large number of people getting input from specialists of all kinds.

Once the kinks are worked out of the pool we will lift the registration limit and drop a pile of cryptocurrencies to folders while we wait for the official launch.

Cryptobullions Folding pool is full right now, but his fastcoin pool is open,  visit there with some hashes to thank him for the hard work on the curecoin project.

If all goes well we will see official  curecoin or  the beta (Center for Disease Control) launched in a week.

cloudcoin kinda messed up my 3 letter call for the beta coin....

Thanks to Hydroponica and techbytes for their donations to the project!

Thanks to SistaFista who has agreed to donate a large amount to the folding effort
