if you run 2000 watts or less at home you may make a profit with gpu rigs

but if you run with an asic mining btc directly  you need 3000+ watts and  a 240 volt circuit .

all direct asic mining at home kind of needs 240 volt and a 20 amp circuit.

a used s17 pro pulls 2200 watts at about 53th

it is loud and 53 th is about 0.08 x 53 = $4.24 usd a day

 so 2.2 x 24 = 53 kwatts a day which would be

5.30 a day power in for a 10 cent power fee

most homes are over 10 cents. a kwatt.

but as ognasty told you gpu mining can profit at home.

I can run a 600 watt gpu miner that does 160mh.

it will earn 0.0009648  btc a day which is $10.51 usd a day for only 600 watts.

I have a thread in alt coins that would help you build a gpu rig.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/number-9-ninth-altcoin-thread-back-to-the-moon-baby-5144362

mining btc via auto vert on nicehash is better then mining btc directly at this moment.

sometimes it is the other way around mining btc directly with an asic is better.

THANK YOU !
That post / response was terrific.

I recently purchased a z15 but the info from asicminervalue.com was not quite accurate in terms of profitability when I loaded my electricity cost - 6 cents, hosted.
The site is good enough to approximate with.

I have found whattomine.com to be more exact & specific ... updated daily. It's terrific also.

At 6 cents for a kw/h, I'd like a machine that pays for itself in 90 to 180 days and then generates good to high double digit income.

The challenge is forecasting which currency will increase in value - the most - going forward.

If there is a list of most profitable machines more accurate than asicminervalue I'd like to know.

Top 2 profitable are A10 for ETH and BM-k1 by IBELINK for the kadena coin.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be delighted to hear them.

Thanks again !

Don't talk about machines that mine coins other than bitcoin.  This is the BTC mining section.

So you need to move thread to altcoin section

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

these are not my rules.  most likely this set of posts by you will be moved there on Friday by the mods.

the artice sites competitiveness relative to efficiency .... of what ?

Actually it is a legit question and is based more on. watts per th. than price of gear.

ie if you have free power a 200 usd purchase of s9s with psu's make around 56th at .1237 a th = $ 6.92 usd a day

but if you have 10 cent power 4 s9's burn 4x1.2= 4.8 maybe 5 kwatts an hour that would be 120kwatts at 10 cents = $12.00 usd in power

So an s9 is really good with free power as it is cheap to buy
and an s9 sucks with 10 cent power it loses money

now take an s17pro they can be found here and there for 1100

52 th at 2.2 kwatts

it earns 6.43 usd with free power
at ten cent power cost it burns 53 kwatts or 5.30 a day so 6.43-5.30 = 1.13 profit

so to summarize s9  pays off in

200/6.92 = under 30 days at free power
200/-5.08 = never pays off at 10 cent power

s17pro pays off in
1100/6.43 = 172 days at free power
1100/1.13 = 974 days at 10 cent power

this is a more accurate way to think of which gear is more competitive.

other factors s9's are easier to keep running than s17pro's

and if 1 s9 break you still have 3 running
if 1 s17pro breaks you have zip running.

Evil beware: We have waffles!
^^^ Um, 1st page here... Mainly ONLY buy directly from the manufacturers. Most other places are not to be trusted as they are either scams or zero help when a miner fails.

That said, the only reseller/distributor I trust is [ur=https://blokforge.com/l]Blokforge [/url]who are an authorized distributor for Avalons. They also carry miners from Bitmain and Innosilicon. Over the past several years I've used Blockforge for buying dozens of Avalons.

Does anyone know legitimate websites to buy miners from?

@Sundance__
Articles on crypto "news" sites about new equipment and companies are typically all but useless. Very few sites check 'news' that is submitted to them and in fact usually are 'pay to print'. Until gear is in the hands of trusted members here and reviewed by them consider all reports as at least highly suspicious.

Very reasonable. Ok, I have no attachment to them I just like to see competitors.

Both Cheetah's F7 and StrongU Ut-U8 look interesting at their advertised W/T but I admit I have not seen any concrete evidence they actually exist.

agreed with the method

ultimately i was posting to actually necro it for you and it was the only piece of genuine info i could offer so i am glad Smiley

I am not suggesting anything about Cheetah other than I know they exist as there's F5s out there

https://xueqiu.com/6573887165/152139326. This article has quite a bit on them and their team.

[...]

Sorry I missed this thanks for your contribution. I'll likely be updating the OP this week as I've been focusing elsewhere.

Then there is the cheetah miner f7...

I'll keep an eye out but won't add it to the list until it ships and can be confirmed real. Apart from that you can start a discussion tread or find one if it exists and discuss there. Thanks.

Then there is the cheetah miner f7!
Shipping this month does 39W/T.

Curious whether people have had any experience with them?

Updated main list to include the Bitamin S17+. Used red color to identify gear on that list drawing 3KW or more, as suggested by Kano. Bitmain speculation has been changed to 5nm chip speculation thread as there are no miners on the horizon but that's the direction they are going.

While I don't think the entire conversation that went on here should have been removed most of it was turning this into a discussion thread. I still welcome and accept all suggestions, such as the 3KW+ tagging. As well as any miners people feel should be added to the list. Feel free to post or PM if you have anything to add.

Updated Pricing based earliest available batch ,then least expensive. Changed Canaan 1041 to 1047 as that seems to be their current offering. Included review/review posts for Innosilicon T3, and 1047. Added Speculation links for Avalon 1066, Bitmain 17+ series miners and Innosilicon T3+. Let me know if something isn't correct or you have a concern.

Clueless!
Again, out of the country, I had an offer of $900 Innsolicon 30TH at 2,200 watts with $50 shipping to the states. Don't help me any with 36.7% tariff and import fees etc. This comes out to $1,307.20 there vs with USA tariffs after September 1st, 2019 or if you are a VAT Tax country..you may be sh*t out of luck on all this.

Hosting overseas legit? meh...?

I could post the info here and flesh it out some to see if legit. Indeed even pay the guy after I got this $1,307.20 30TH beastie for a review. Not worth the bother. Sorry. Hopefully, this is NOT off-topic in that just showing the difference in prices I'm being offered by individuals on the above Innsolicon. If they make a legit offer of say at 53TH at 3200 watts for say $1,499 I may just cry. I'd still be way out of the running in the USA.

Sorry, again, this SHOULD be on-topic just to show what is floating around in the wind for prices, in and out of USA anyway. Stuff that needs to be at the forefront of our miner calcs now the 36.7% frigging tariff.

Again, if you really want the contact info to flesh this out in this thread I can put it out there, but without a 'pay when you get it' and a review, I'm not going to. In that does me no good in the USA. So have legit links now for this new hardware page that is not even worth the hassle of my time in venting on a pay after it arrives review with the tariffs.

Well I'm not giving them an A+ on anything, but looking at their site it looks like 53 TH for 13800 Yaun = ~1960 USD for this gear  - 53T ASIC miner Cheetah Miner-F5M with PSU
I did reach out to them for information and to ask if they had anyone performing reviews. I do not recommend anyone send them money until gear has been seen and verified by an independent party. Positives are that they are not just blindly accepting payment via the site, but will have a service rep reach out to you.

The 30TH model may just be an outlier of a small company that doesn't update their website very well. It should really just say in-stock if it is still available. We'll see if I hear back from them or something materializes in the wild.

$370 for 30TH

afraid odds are 9 out of 10 this is a scam.

sorry

If it is too good to be true, it often is correct, too good to be true.

I don't know why but they seem very familiar. Did they have less efficient gear before?  That would be one reason they never made the list if their offerings weren't competitive at the time. I also withhold putting a company on here until there is some proof of gear and specs. They do have a few pieces that claim really good efficiency with delivery for October based on the site.

Did some digging and there was some talk of them a few months back but doesn't seem to be much else. I'll definitely keep an eye on them.

You could include Cheetah miner manufacturer, looks very promising and interesting.

Not a paid post, you can check out its official website: https://www.cheetah-miner.com/?lang=en

PS: Beware of scamming site: www.cheetahminer.com ; Too good to be true boys!

Updates:

  • I have created and included a list based on efficiency of all currently and recently available hardware under .07 J/GH
  • I have updated MicroBT's best offering to the M20S, as from what I can tell there are no longer any outstanding orders
  • I went through and updated pricing for gear based on what manufacturer/distributors are advertising

Right now the only odd listing is Innosilicon. It appears that a lot of the T3 variations have become worse with efficiency and or have performed under spec. I'm going to do a little more research and see what if there is any discussion around the pre-orders for the T3+; which is not an improvement in efficiency.
