Just a quick heads up folks in case this is, or becomes, a widespread problem:

I am currently unable to withdraw (send) BTC from Coinbase. The Coinbase interface has not recognized any of the three wallet addresses and 2 exchange addresses I have attempted to withdraw to so far.

The message promulgated by the Coinbase UI when I entered these addresses reads, "Please enter a valid BTC address". All 5 I used are indeed valid BTC addresses.

I have opened a support ticket and will post any relevant information I receive in reply here.

(Is this the most relevant thread to post this information in I wonder?)

use vpn and connect USA than log into your coinbase .It will work i think,Its worked for me.

Ive sent from coinbase using the app and using the QR code, that works. When I was entering the address it was saying that the BTC address was not working, but scanning QR codes seems to work.

I can scan the qr, but when I hit send it just stays on the same screen. Doesn't work.

I have managed to withdraw my BTC using the app. Curiously the app crashed as soon as I pushed send.

I attempted one last time to withdraw the BTC on my PC prior to using the app with no success.

I'll give it a go myself - once I have the app installed etcetera, etcetera.

Can anyone recommend an alternative wallet please?  Looking to get trading alt coins today!

Minimal fees please - will only be depositing £50-100 p/time.

Exodus or Jaxx are both great wallets!

They've just taken my money in the last few minutes and now have it locked. And not a word. Utter shower of sh*ts.
I'll not be using them again.

%gurgle%

Coinbase should be tweeting the hell out of this news if they have been compelled to freeze withdrawals. And they should not be accepting new purchases either - which they undoubtedly still are. F**kers.

Anyone got any updates?  Embarrassed
No updates to report so far I am sorry to say. I imagine their support team will soon be overwhelmed by support tickets if they have not already been so.

Yeah me too. I got crazy when it didnt recognize my address. I though my account was hacked or something. When i googled coinbase i got this. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-11-10/coinbase-likely-to-lose-bid-to-block-irs-probe-of-customer-gains i hope it helps. I hope coinbase will do something about this

WTF did you think was going to happen on a centralized exchange where you have to give up all your info and a blood sample? They even tell you that they will hold your money for whatever reason that want to make up, and they control your private keys because you have money on the exchange and it's not your wallet it is theirs. So it is very risk using Coinbase I've always despised them.

Same here. I'm pretty nervous about this after reading that the IRS is trying to get records from Coinbase:

Have they locked our accounts?
