I disagree. Afghanistan almost won against both India and Pakistan recently proving how much they have improved over time. On the other hand, West Indies is playing horribly except for a few players like Pooran, Cotrell etc.

Almost winning is not a win,if they want to make a statement that they are better then they need to cross the line. But they evolved as a better team comparing to the previous years but they still depends on players like Rashid and Nabi who got the advantages from playing on IPL.

LOL I had a small bet for WI to score over 3.5 runs in the first over. Mujib bowled the over and Gayle was like I am not gonna take run from the first over no matter what ball you bowl :-P

Anyway, I think WI will win this match and they will score over 300+ runs.

ICC must be thumbing their chest or maybe some of them pulling their hairs after checking point table -reading following statement. It sums up why ICC opted for only 10 team format, and an argument is good on both side though.

What an irony! The top two teams from the qualifiers are lying at the bottom of the table in the World Cup and are playing a dead rubber. So much was expected from these two teams but not to be.
Well WI failed even having some good player in the squad but Afghanistan is no where near (strength wise) to any other team in the current world cup. You do not count upsets, do you?

If Afghanistan would win any match than that would be upset.

Gayle is gone! Final World cup match is a disaster, in fact the whole tournament.

This is not a conspiring theory but a reality.
Let the Saturday matches finalizes who will play against whom in the Semi final and then we can further discuss on it.
Pakistan is literally out and they have no hope now unless they bowl out Bangladesh within 40-50 runs which is insane. All these conspiracy theories and fixed matches stuff is pure bullshit and nothing else. Pakistan and other teams need to focus on improving from now and should focus on the next World Cup instead.

But WI is lot better than AFG but they need to play to the condition then only they can win matches,we saw that they were playing ODI matches like T20 matches which caused them to lose many matches, hooefully they learned something and will play better this time.

Yes, that's a sad surprise.  But i have one more analysis to make here
NZ lost their last three matches and down in confidence and yet qualifies
PAK Won the last three matches and better in confidence and unable to qualify.
It is a really unfortunate situation, the rain actually spoiled some matches and now the net run rate will determine who is going to the next round, it would be fun if we could see Pakistan getting a spot in the semi and then they are facing India in the finals  Wink.
Today we have Afghanistan vs West Indies and i am thinking about a comfortable win for West Indies but will be glad if Afghanistan can defeat them as they played good cricket but no wins so far.

I don't think West Indies will win comfortably, Afghanistan and West Indies match always nail biting. Now Afghanistan getting their mojo back after started playing some good matches against India and Pakistan.

So don't underestimates Afghanistan, before World Cup started, everyone was sure, they will do 2-3 upsets, but because of their internal politics they ruin whole world cup dreams.

6.17pm Handshakes all round ... and here's official word from S Rajesh, our statsguru-in-chief. Pakistan will need to beat Bangladesh by 316 runs at Lord's on Friday to oust New Zealand. "That is, if they score 400, they need to keep Bangladesh to 84 or less. The exact margin will change depending on scores." It's not over yet!

See the last words, "It's Not Over Yet" .  Lolzzz  Cheesy

In addition to that, if they Bangladesh wins the toss and chooses to bat then they are eliminated. So right now Pakistan hopes of getting qualified is very very hard.

Good show by Bairstow yesterday.

The Big 3 have decided that since England has not win any world cup, they will allow England to Win this world cup.

Bro, conspiracy theories are a waste of time tbh.

like i mentioned before (Bold part)

England, India, Australia are top teams and can beat each others on their good day so nothing surprising or major upset here. Kiwis winning the world cup might be surprise for me.

@Vishnu.Reang  Chances are low though.

@Little Mouse Yeah, I believe the same, but history tells us that there is always some chance for upset in cricket. Chances are thin, but we should not close our mind with any possibility.

Yeah, I believe the same, but history tells us that there is always some chance for upset in cricket. Chances are thin, but we should not close our mind with any possibility.

haha, and the most upset was for NZ, you know they never reach final despite having a blast performance in 92 from Martin Crowe, no one thought NZ is not going to be the champion. But they weren't. Lol, but they are playing so poor this time, will they be the champion this time?

Their top batsman still didn't have any good performance in this edition. Will he be able to act like Gilchrist in 2007?
I can't wait to see champion of this edition.

New Zealand started the world cup with a crushing 10 wicket victory over Sri Lanka. I think I was the only one in the pool who predicted it correctly. During the second match, they struggled against Bangladesh but managed to beat them. And then they were able to beat Afghanistan in a decisive manner. But their performance during the last 2-3 matches have been poor. Had a very close match against West Indies, followed by a defeat against Pakistan. And then crushing defeats against Australia and England.

No, Kiwi will surely be eliminated in semi finals. Hopefully !!!

The Big 3 have decided that since England has not win any world cup, they will allow England to Win this world cup.
So India or Australia who ever will play in Semi final will lose against England.

In the Final, England will win against India or Australia  . The only threat is NZ, if they qualify in final, they will try to beat England (as NZ are not the part of this plan)

My post  may seems foolish right now but we will come back at it later.

Ah Cheesy

Means you say that England will surely win the WC as per the plan??? Let's see then and hoping the plan misfires Cheesy

Kiwi isn't going to win, at least that's what have been proved till the beginning of their world cup journey. In this world cup, their batting performance is more than poor. Only Williamson alone was struggling most of the matches. So, they aren't going to final unless a miracle happen.

Kiwis need to win just two more matches to lift the trophy. First they need to defeat Australia during their trans-Tasman duel and then they need to beat either India or England in the finals. But considering their pathetic form during the last 2-3 matches, I would say that any chance for that happening is really low. A more realistic possibility would be England winning the world cup for the first time.

What do you mean by Fixed or Not Fixed ?

Here already people are claiming India's matches are fixed so it's for them.

I do not think Indian matches are fixed but there is a lobby (The big three) who have decided that who will win the WC.

We might see a big upset in one of the semifinals.  Wink

Pakistan are officially out now of WC as NZ not only lost, their RR also is positive. The best 4 teams are now in the semis fixed or not fixed Cheesy

Excited for the last matches and hoping India wins their last one before the semis. I can see people bet on semis too without knowing the team?

I don't think that Pakistan is capable of beating Bangladesh by 300+ runs. On the other hand, there is a real possibility that Bangladesh will pull off an upset.

Doesn't matter now if Bangladesh triggers a upset or Pakistan win by 290 runs.  Smiley
