From what I read on this page, it appears that there are two ingredients needed for an active and good forum.

1. It needs to have a home feeling. Meaning, that the user needs to feel welcome and at home when he types and writes messages, they also need to feel free and open.

2. There needs to be a good enough financial incentive to make it worthwhile for their time, because as mentioned there are many forum OG's that wont just switch for mediocre pay.

But of course, there is more too this, for example one has to ask how does a forum provide users with that at home feeling?

While, good pay is easily answered, with more money.

Imo that's simply impossible considering that all of us are from different countries, with different cultural background. You can't please everyone in this case. The only thing that is recognized by all the people as something valuable, regardless of their cultural identity, is money. Like it or not, you can't make people work for you without a decent pay nowadays.

Yep +1, and if the people know Bitcointalk and are already earning money with it, it will be harder to attract them to a place without feedbacks, without records and without a good pay ...
That is why op needs to focus on small account here or catch people of other forums

I thought this is about cryptotalk but lately found that its different called crypto forum.Just now visited that forum the interface is quite good and fells like new version of bitcointalk but not many members registered there to get some real discussion.

Read that they also offering pay per posts but didn't found more details about how much they were paying! If its more than 1000 sats then why they didn't have much traffic as crypotalk.

Finally this is the right place for this thread?

Nope it is 2 different forums  Cheesy.
You can say it is the right place for this thread if you think you are gambling on the successor of Bitcointalk (?)  Cheesy
After yes maybe it is not the best place for the thread

ooh competition, that is a good word. I still do not see any of these forums over taking bitcointalk, as this forum has existed for a long time and is doing its job just fine. This forum is basically setting an example for other sites, and how they should operate. But, based on activity, I also think that other sites do not compare to bitcointalk, so it is not just the quality of the forum, it is the quantity too. This forum right now has credibility, is open, fun, informative..I do not predict another site taking over in the near future, maybe I am wrong.

Cryptotalk? Crypto-Forum? You guys are you all right? With Bitcointalk, I don't know why you're looking for something new. I think there hasn't been any other forum that makes as much money as Bitcointalk. I think you need to know some value.

I guess web developers and forum owner wants to have good money from advertisers once their community starts to gather enough traffic. Stepping up to the competition against Bitcointalk is such a courageous act, not to mention the huge budget that was thrown to such risky investment in developing a forum.
Many have tried yet some of them fail.
I was thinking how well their community would be doing if the pay per post reward will be removed.

I like your last sentence, it really needs money to run a successful forum, take the case of Cryptotalk, there's always new sign up and new post and the traffic rank is going up, because members are getting paid in a timely manner and they do not have to wait for the payout much better than a bounty campaign.

Wow, I did not even know about that website until you mentioned it in your post. You say they have improved and are even better than from before? I am going to give them a try and see how they do.  Lately, I got a huge urge to write on some forums, so why not make some BTC while doing it, it helps me socialize and pass the time. I hope I dont sound like a total introvert by writing this. LMAO.

Well CryptoTalk has really upped the game by a notch, seeing they hardly have any issue with the budget.

For new players, this might prove somewhat troublesome especially when attempting to bring in current CT posters.

I personally would remove that "latest messages" type of thing at the top, that kinda looks weird, maybe should start with sections first and at the bottom of the page it should be the latest ones so we can see it, hell I would even go as far as saying you could remove it, who needs the latest messages?

But, if you want to keep it you could potentially put it under the sections right under the locals but above the member statistics part of the page. The homepage and the design looks great to be honest with you but it is not easy to get people to talk these days, there are social medias that gives people their voice already so getting them all to one place becomes a bit harder and harder. Not impossible, reddit is still huge and it is basically a big forum, but it is hard.

Thanks for the response, I did not go over each page to see what every person wrote, so I was not aware that he wrote that. But, even with that being said, that is some time ago, I wonder if the price per post upgraded or increased. Like you stated, the amount before was kinda a little low to attract users or to get users to stay, So If they increased the price, maybe I might give that site a go. It looks neat, similar to this site, just less traffic.

No problem, that's the goal of a forum, helping eachother  Wink

But attracting new posters and GOOD posters is a different thing and a difficult one.
It is next to impossible to attract the top notch of the posters here. Those guys (and girls) have accounts which are often almost 10 years old, they wont give them up so easily.

Additionally, the best posters often wear signatures like Chipmixer which pays them approx 200-300 dollars per week for posting and wearing the sig. If you dont have something similiar (or better) to offer, those posters wont even think about starting over in a new forum.

Yes but now it was difficult to rank up and get a good signature. A lot of people are trying to find forums to get paid because they know they are good posters but they do not have the account to show it.
That's the kind of people you want to catch, not people from the forum with good ranks of course

I doubt that most members on that campaign (Chipmixer) do really aim mainly for money.Even some of them wont still transfer into a new forum even if the pay would be more better than Chipmixer itself.
This forum or place is already a part of us specially for old members.Theres no valid reason to leave this place just for a new one for the sake of money.

Well when we do talk about pay then there would always who look after that than any other things.

So I seen that you can exchange their currency for bitcoin on their website, but how hard is it to earn their currency? You can cash out like 50k of their currency for almost 3 dollars usd if I am not mistaken. But, how hard is it to get the coins from that site. It says you get paid per post, but does someone know how much exactly you earn per post. Yes, I understand that the post has to be coherent and have over 100 words, but apart from that, if you meet that criteria, what is the payout per post?

someone said that pages ago :
Today i just make an account at there because i was so curious how many bitz i can earned and as people says bitz amount depend on from what categories we make posts and i was made several posts from different categories such as gambling section and bitcoin section and the payment per post approximately 80 - 115 bitz and to reedemed my bitz to bitcoin it took not less than 500 posts

maybe now it is higher because we show to op that it was too low to attract people for a long time (or even to attract them).
After I haven't tryied by myself so I can not confirm...

You're absolutely right.

We migrated to the new domain & are currently working on the referral system:
https://crypto-forum.net

A referral contest will be launched next week with prizes up to 1 ETH!

So the more people you ref the more chance you have to win 1eth ?
Except that do you have other plans for the future to increase the traffic or attract good posters ?

Forum is growing and I like dark theme for sure.
I would like to see something similar in Bitcointalk forum.
Is there going to be some campaigns similar like here?
On cryptotalk forum, you can earn some money through your post.it's same like on here (though you need to join first in a campaign before you can get paid).
The different only there are still low traffic on there instead on this forum
