I think that it would be better if winner is person with most referred players,not referral comission earned...This way it is not fair competition,even owner could register account and take the prize...Just my 2 satoshis
If according to your rules , I do not think any owner would do it. Because for example, there may be someone has 20K followers on twitter , he can
not lose a penny to play but he will be the prize winner. Even those people who do not play anything and The site not obtained any benefit beyond 20k

You guys worry too much. High rollers wouldn't care about the 1btc prize and they wouldn't waste time to create a chain of downstream accounts to win the 1btc. They bet tens of btc everyday.
But the few high rollers that may not care about BTC1 could signed up directly, not through ref link, if so, they're irrelevant.
It makes perfect sense for anyone wagering big to sign-up under his own ref link, unless you only earn on house profit (player's loss).

Since the contest is new, and new affliate accounts will be created, what is it that will stop high rollers, who anyway play on the site, to register under themselves through another account, and win the prize ?
Good question, high rollers will win this competition easily if he can create another accounts under his main account.

Yes, I totally agree with your interpretation. The issue is not how many accounts , but the issue is how much money you have to deposit into that
account to reach high roller. And of course, more money= more chance to grab the prizes.
Maybe every "Private funded" site should host contests similar to this, People tend to bet and lose a lot more just to be paid from these contests, than they would normally do. And yes, seems the high rollers can take advantage of it, but overall they will still be gambling a very large amount and risking it too, so they deserve it.
