I genuinely don't believe most traders care whether it's decentralized, centralized, inflationary, run by mice or hovers ten feet above the floor. There's plenty of money sloshing around and it moves around. That's enough.

^This.

Traders live for volatility - doesn't matter if the action is up or down.
That said, I just opened a short position on ETH, so it will probably go up, LOL.

the funny thing is that etheruem might increase again, because of those that are actually buying in, thinking that it will increase again, not because it will actually increase again for a particular reason

they are the architects of their speculation

buying in thinking that others will also buy in, causing the very same increase strikes me as a valid reason, not an absence of one.

yes but it appear to be the only reason, when it should not be the case, but this how crypto work, minus bitcoin

watching it closely  with a buy in set at ?

Traders who telegraph their buy orders usually have a large bag looking to sell and are merely hoping to delay others from selling before them. If you really were buying the rational thing would be to quietly buy when it dips to a new low.

Voted "CRASH UNDER $5.00" but do to the amount of braindead throwing BTC at ETH It will probably moon as a feature. Smiley

ETH -23
DAO -41

And thats with polo crashing under load from the pansies scurrying from the sinking ship.

stupid is as stupid does...it is an opportunity (for the patient).

I look at this as a chance to buy very low then it will rise after the ½ ing so I am in your camp.

I will mine and hodl my eth from now until the ½ ing.  I did roi already. I can hodl what I mine.

Perhaps, let it go a few rounds (lower) before buying.

Thats true 99% don't even understand the stuff. But if the overall perception is negative than its over.

Miners typically care about the profitability for their hardware and thus dont care about what traders may think. In a sense, good traders can see a crash as a good thing.

Why is it that when mining becomes EXTREMELY profitable there is always something like this that happens and mining profits start going downhill.

Back in 2014, Mt.Gox was what killed mining for both ASICs and GPUs (Litecoin/Dogecoin).

because schadenfreude is strong in man a.k.a Homo sapiens.

my attitude is as follows: barring the whole protocol fiasco, which is also possible, both ethereum and bitcoin are virtually inderstructable units/entities that are useful to exchange objects and produce work. With this premise, an exact current price is less relevant, but what is significant is the steady state value of the unit (in the future).

Explain to us all why Ethereum would go to over $50 a coin when it's been hacked and crashing fast.

Are you just Trolling us or what .. you can't be serious.

Nice self mod too ahhahahhaha  Cheesy

A hater cool.  So your vote is crash and burn correct?

I dont think Eth will Soar to 50. But if they hardfork and thus show ETH is not decentralized, i think it will crash and burn. If it doesnt i think it will recover and 50$ might be doable by the end of the year.

A fix has been made.  WIll the events make ETH coin a big winner  loser or more or less neutral?
You are wrong, there is no fix. DAO is still vulnerable to the attack.

Actually DAO network is hacked but i don't think even ethereum foundation can stop those 2 million stolen ethereum from trading. So when this eth will be released after 27 days (as said in ethereum blog post), i am sure market will be not as much strong as now because there will be always a fear of massive dump due to this 2 million in hand of hacker.
