If you are using Chrome based browser or Brave browser you can do one small trick to enable dark theme without installing any script or extension.

Simply enter code written below in your browser address bar and switch to Enable Force Dark Mode for Web Contents:

Code:
chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark

You can choose between several options, select one that you like the most, and you can always return back to Default settings.

Wow! This is going to change my life.
Thank you so much!

Yes, this one. I am also feel sad by seeing the downloads. Even there are more user has participated to comment in the official BPIP extension thread. LOL

You've forgot/missed the numbers for the Firefox extension. Not that it would change the fact that for reasons I also don't understand the numbers are extremely low indeed...

Chrome 68 downloads and I can see Firefox downloads is only 19. Then also the total is very lower amount. Where there are lot of people in this forum. The reason maybe people did not notice it yet, or who noticed and did not try it means they are okay with the normal version/default night mode by chrome setting.

I agree, the BPIP extension is probably the best browser extension for the bitcointalk forum. Very useful. Also, it has a selection of several different styles including a dark theme.

Is it this one?

Only 57 downloads, why are the stats so sad.

I have been using this for few months. This works well. But I don't use the dark mode. But atleast my theme is not full white like normal and I feel better to watch this forum.

though I don't visit the BPIP site all that often

Me neither, but I do use their browser extension to show me the banned/inactive users, whether an user is part of DT or easy links to loyce.club or ninjastic.space. And I use one of the themes too, but not a dark one.
It's really useful imho.

I am using Dark Mode for every other thing and I would love to get it for our forum as well.

Ok there are plenty of ways being shared by members on how to apply dark mode but do you think it will be better than the normal mode. I mean dark mode looks good but when you have to do a lot of reading and writing, i think the normal mode suits better.  Ok i understand that everyone have different opinions.   Smiley

I will add that the BPIP extension, among a lot of other enhancements made for this forum, also has themes, and the "Dark purple" is a pretty good dark theme imho.
Interesting, I wasn't aware of that (though I don't visit the BPIP site all that often).

OP, I'm not sure what browser you're using but if you've got a dark mode for it, it should work for bitcointalk, right?  I've been using the Dark Reader extension for a while now, and it works just fine on the forum.  I'm not sure what else you're looking for if you've already got a similar add-on.

By the way, this has been brought up before like a million times and I'm pretty sure Theymos isn't inclined to make a dark mode specially for bitcointalk, at least not until that new forum software comes out in the year 3093--so you might have to wait a while.  If you're lucky, you can be melted out of your cryogenic freezer and find that this forum looks slightly different and might have a dark mode option.  See you then, eh?

And it may be much easier to install and set up than the others.

It is possible through installing some extensions for your browser and little bit of css.
There are multiple threads here in Meta that you can follow.
