1. Pre-mined? Check.
2. Closed-sourced? Check.
3. Forked? Check.

Well i think it wont and the name they give it was a bad idea.

The name isn't a problem so much as how it's being marketed. "In the black" is a term for businesses that are turning a profit, for example (and is related to "Black Friday"). Marketing is everything.

Honestly, at this point anyone that buys into coins when they are rising at a fast rate deserves to get screwed. This isn't a one-day thing. This has been going on for many months across many coins. It's nothing new.

For some people it is new. There's plenty of people becoming "professional traders" for the first time every day. As we obviously still have a ways to go before mass adoption of bitcoin, its going to be even longer until alts are well known.

Like I said, they deserve it. Too many people throw their money blindly into things and then cry when they lose it. It's called greed and they bring it upon themselves. If people would quit treating every coin like a get-rich scheme, we wouldn't have this stuff happening.

I think it was bold pump, but the quicker and higher they rise, the more bag holders get stuck holding the bag.

1. There is no premine.
2. Source will be open after release candidate phase.
3. [22:26] <@evan82> looks like we're ok now

Now go get your coat.
THE FUD ABOUT DARK COIN

1. released without windows QT so that only dev and pals could mine it.

2. Instamined harder than any other coin out there  12.5% of the current minting was mined in the first day

3. Later they decided to cut the minting by 75% to turn their 12.5% instamine with no windows QT into 50% instamine in 24hours - nice hey

yes that is correct they mined 50% of all the coins available at this time by themselves in the first 24 hours whilst windows users could not mine.

That is the facts.... doesn't matter what else they say... nothing can change what they have done.

Once zero coin, or bytecoin with a decent wallet it released or another darkcoin clone is released.... dark coin will sink like a stone.

Every time they try to spam their coin just post this to remind them of the facts about their coin.

THE FACTS ABOUT Arghhh

1. Is not making riches with alt coins.

2. Is jelly of smart people making riches with alt coins.

3. Small penis.

4. Can't bench 150 lbs.

5. Is now angry.

It is not necessary for anonymity to be built into a currency therefore Darkcoin has nothing special to offer thus the answer is no.

Will it surpass Bitcoin? Shit... with this BS multifork business with the masternodes? I don't think so. Some people at my pool have lost thousands of dollars.

Gotta hand it to the relentless Darkcoin promoters though...

And no merchant or retailer is going to do business with a currency with the word "dark" in the name.  Are you for real?

This. Not to mention people keep pushing it for its anonymity only (which makes people think of illegal purposes, which most reputable merchants will want to avoid due to the risk involved).

The group pushing for its anonymity also helped push bitcoin to where it is now sooo nothing is really impossible, maybe it can avoid regulation altogether, still it becomes hard to explain where you put a million USD when the IRS comes knocking asking for you to participate in an audit.

Bitcoin wasn't pushed to regulation as being a completely anonymous currency though. I guarantee the government would not back that up because there's no way they can instill any type of control over it. We're talking about two different marketing methods, and marketing DC the way people are is the wrong way to do it if they really want widespread adoption. It presents an ominous view and there's already a lot of trust from outsiders in the crypto world.
