same over here, more stuffs are coming soon too . . . lots of running around to do. bz days ahead building rigs for the local community.

some gpus unboxed, another 80+ more to come . . . unboxing can be really tiring, lot's of different types of screws & hex for building rigs

happy mining to all

One more question about the TB85, has anyone tried the 1x3 PCIe splitter with it? Were you able to run 7 cards with it? If someone has a TB85 and a 1X3 splitter lying around, could you please try and let us know, it would help. The ASROCK H81 Pro BTC V2 works with the splitter and you can run 7 GPU on that board, and if the TB85 can do too, minus the Asrock's headless bug, it would be the new king of mining boards.

yes it will & can run splitter, you can run 7 gpu but you MUST have enough power to power all 7 gpu

@OP yeps they are GB G1 gaming, i have another, *roughly* 100 more coming in abt 2 weeks or so. more stuffs are coming, lots of work to be done.

the 1500 ones are working nicely, fully compatible with the breakout boards that i'm using. less high pitch noise & it does seems to be quieter & not so warm on my 7 mixed gpu rig.

these are some of the previous ones purchased, built & delivered to customers, 1 box/carton = 10 gpus

so far it's 1 of my fav gpu

Curious to know your parameters with this model of RX.
They are my worst RX !

I got 2 G1 Gaming Gigabytes cheap over BlackFriday last year, but they turned out to be so light!! Therefore hotter! Silly me! ;p

But if you have enough 'extra' cooling or higher fan speeds - no problems with them. It is just in my environment they run at 62% fan speed which is much more than 'silent' GTX I had.

Ok, enough, I gotta plug one in with a newly arrived riser  Cool

@yslyung - Why are you preferring the Gaming ver over the non gaming one ? Does the gaming one give more hashrate ? I bought 2 Gigabyte 480s and they are the most delicate cards I have, they are OC but they cnt get to higher temp and trip my whole rig :@ !!

hmmm, so far these are the only available ones here locally afaik & so far all of them works really well for me & my customers. prolly just my luck i guess.

don't have any experience with non gaming or GB's 480 models

i'm sure you are aware that 480's consumes alot more power compared to a 470 but so far based on experience, the 470 do sometimes really kicks the butt's of the 480's especially in terms of power consumption & dollar/cost per mhs.

some 470's even kick 480's butt based on 1 to 1 direct comparison in hashrate except gpu intensive algos, 480=36 CU, 470=32 CU but when it comes to mining ETH & overall BEST gpu to use will be a 470 4GB.

ok last teaser for you guys I promise  Grin

nice ! but . . . 1 gpu goes down, whole rig goes down = lotsa downtime, the initial startup & DAG generation must be loooong. good for enthusiast but imo, it's NOT good or recommended for a newbie. try dual mining & what see it spits out. i won't even goto PSU topic, the amount of mess of cables (heh, except my rigs but still need LOTS of work) & i think 1 of the worse would be to figure out which gpu or hardware is the 1 causing all the issue or the entire rig to fail.

sorry for the -ve points but that's what i think & i hope you take it as constructive -ve points.

nevertheless, HURRY up & share the secret sauce & an awesome job done !

@yslyung - Are those Gigabyte G1 Gaming?   I just got 14 of them for my little LED office.  =)  Let us know how the HP 1500 works out, especially from a noise level stand point.

The PICO is designed for Miners.  Long enough EPS cable, only 4PIN is needed even for 8Pin EPS for the CPU.  You can use the one on the Pico or from the custom cable Finksy provide.  His cables are delayed so I dont have to show.  So I just use the 4Pin from the Pico.  It have MOLEX, SATA, everything you need!!!  I love it.

He will also have the EPS cable split with the 2.5MM Barrel cable to power the Pico but that is delayed.

Cryptowatcher is making me some as a backup plan.  Check it out!!

Time to GO SHOPPING FOR DA BUILD!!!

Get the HD Man to do some Cutting!

Check out this new sexy LGA 1151 MSI Enthusiast MB!  But will it support 7 GPU or will it disappoint like the PRo Carbon even though there's a thread that actually shows how to get it to see 7 GPU but it didn't work.   SEXY!

Many boards have it.  Some are required when you want to power 3 or more GPU such as the ASROCK H97 Anniversary.  The ASROCK H81 BTC Pro have it but it's optional as you can hit the Letter N when it warns you and it won't prompt you to plug in the molex anymore.  For the TB85, you won't need to use it.  It's for back in the days when people were using non powered risers which can put too much load on the MB and fry them.

You probably have a bad board.  I have that board, no issues with 6 GPUs.  Many others have it too.  Return it and get a new one.

P.S TB85 is available on Newegg.com again.  Get it FAST before they sell out again.

Thanks, yea I am gonna RMA it, also just picked up 2 more on newegg.  Have another question about this board, I never come across a board with molex power directly on the board, whats the purpose and is it needed?

Has anyone with the Biostar TB85 had any issues getting 6 rx 480 8gb cards working out of the box?  Seems the 2 middle pci lanes for me dont work and I am unsure if its a hardware issue or a bios config issue.

You don't really need permanent partitioning.  Hot air rise so even if you use TARP to partition without impacting structures, you can see huge improvements.

I agree with that, tarp partitioning will work nicely for a cheap & easy method for non-permanent partitionning
