Sorry to re-activate an ancient thread.  Can you tell me more info about the Xeon processor?  I'm running a Xeon Nehalem x5570 2.93 GHz.  Quad core with hyperthreading.  48 GBytes of mainboard memory.  Windows 10, 64-bit, version 1511.  I'm using the 32-bit implementation of QT, version bitcoin-0.15.1.

Clean, first-time installation.  Was downloading the blockchain from scratch.  Had to temporarily shut down QT after three days.  Clean shut down.  This morning, tried to restart QT and got the corrupt database message.

Currently running "chkdsk /f/r" on the drive.  Cannot access the debug.log file until this is done.

For what it's worth, an obscure or unknown Xeon errata, not checked-for by the QT software, could explain a lot of my QT issues.
