Why would a government agency help develop a decentralized currency that be use in anonymous transactions to buy illegal drugs, weapons, good and services in the dark web ? And the ex worker or hacker which is edward snowden that is now a whistleblower didn't mention any thing about satoshi or bitcoins. This isn't what expected that satoshi nakamoto that would be, i expect him as a japanese citizen not american or was part of the mysterious organization cicada that was recruiting brilliant hackers in the darknet in the past few years, will this only a conspiracy theory.

So the secretive and oh so mysterious "NSA" went to the trouble to create a FIAT killing digital currency called Bitcoin but..
Failed to make any effort to prevent China from monopolizing it ?

Plausible.. barely.

Problem is there has never been a shred of proof to back this up.
It's pure speculation.
Bigfoot being real is more believable.. or hell even "God"  Cheesy

Is this where Shelby got this idea from ? He was saying the same here for ages.

I am all for theories.. i will listen etc.
But a lack of proof and some bad context is not helping.
Let me guess this guy mentioned "knows people" and is touring with lectures.. books etc.
Heard that before LOL

Ever heard of David Icke ?
He admitted he makes a couple million a year on touring giving lectures.
These people are conspiracy peddlers because it makes them filthy rich.
Like the guy who said he fell in a hole while doing construction in New Mexico and then landed in the middle of an army vs Aliens gun battle.. he went on lecture too also.
Like the Area 51 guy who supposedly claimed they were reversing UFO ships there.

SHITLOADS of these guys do that.. it's an economy all it's own !

Anyway.. David Icke went on TV in the 1980's in a UK day time talk show and said he was JESUS.
He literally went on TV to proclaim he was in fact Jesus Christ and this was his second coming.
He said he himself was the actual real Jesus.
I seen the video of it my self and heard him saying it..

I imagine the real satoshi should be laughing at these guys who say being satoshi

There can be three possibilities.

1. Real Satoshi is alive, and he wants to remain in complete anonymity.
2. Satoshi is dead.
3. Satoshi is not an individual, but a group of people. And none of them want to shed their anonymity.

It is normal to pretend to be someone else on the internet while pretending to tell the truth. The natural cycle of the digital evolution...

Well the older Bitcoin gets the more conspiracy theory's that will be made because they were not there at the origin.
Although I do like the idea of a bunch of white hat people writing on bitcointalk from a NSA computer.
That would be quite the amusing side project.

UFO-Researcher David Wilcock claims, according to his source Dr Pete Peterson, that Bitcoin was invented by a group of white hats within the NSA. Their motivation was that there should be an alternative to the Federal Reserve in case it collapses or its power gets misused. That would make these people "Satoshi". From a technical standpoint this could be true, since these people would have the necessary skills to invent Bitcoin.

He made this remark in this recent presentation of his:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWHyrvFODb8

Dr Pete Peterson claims to be a whistleblower and insider to various deep black projects (USAPs) of the US government, in which supposedly fantastic technologies have been developed.

Why is people still obsessed with Satoshi? Let the person keep his privacy and away from the prying eyes of the public. (if ever he's still alive).

I also have doubts about this claim. He's a what? UFO-Reseacher? then I would have believed if they said that Satoshi is an Alien. LOL. Technically, yes they have the expertise and technology to create bitcoin because they have are inside NSA, but I doubt that those guys would have made it. Because it will opposed the dominance of US dollar in the long run. Too much conspiracy around Satoshi. He's already a legend for all of us. Let's just leave it like that.

Different versions of the story will continue to be spilled out at any point in time and immediately one is debunked, another one is coming up again and I feel its actually a good thing for the crypto world not be scanty of drama at least to take off our mind away from the current price challenges. I am still looking forward to a time when it will be claimed ''that some genius from Africa created bitcoin and the White just stole the idea and thats why we dont know who Satoshi is'' either way, this is another of those conspiracy.

Who is this Dr. Peterson anyway and why is he corroborating with a UFO "expert"? I just find it unlikely that they'd try to develop a system that is not only capable of replacing the dollar but can actually undermine it. Also, all the alt coins that resulted from the innovation of bitcoin would all also be hard to control.

Christopher Hitchens presents conspiracy theories as the "exhaust fumes of democracy", the unavoidable result of a large amount of information circulating among a large number of people.

Too bad he's no longer around to Hitchslap people. That was a really nice quote from him.

Well, I never understood his obssesion with militant atheism - perhaps bad experience with some backwards believing folk, BUT I liked and respected him as a thinker. I have to wonder what he would have to say today with islamists and social justice warrior running rampant. We live in no less interesting age, than he did.

He was definitely a firebrand. When I see some documentary with him or Dawkins though, I kinda admire their patience when dealing with nutjobs. I mean, some people they've encountered would have already elicited hisses or contemptuous laughter from the general population but most of the time they let the person finish.

He's still probably be furious with the Islamists. I'm not sure about the sjws though I suppose they way those are acting now would probably, erm, trigger him.  Grin Even Sam Harris get pissed off with those people.

I  think David Wilcock is not to be taken seriously

This would be the way to start on this, I wouldn't take whatever he has to say about Bitcoin seriously in the least.

Moving on, I feel as if Bitcoin was made by the NSA they would've already given all the online drug marketplaces the killshot and taken them done when they could, at this point it's dumb to see that they haven't done this yet. That's if his story is the truthful one, which I CANT AGREE with in the least.

Well, the best way to help the American government is by creating a system that allows sovereignty of funds, the development of more anonymous cryptocurrencies like Monero (as well as more accessible illegal goods), and almost complete freedom from banks.   Roll Eyes

The only way they could have made a worse system is by directly telling the American public "start a run on the bank"!

Sarcasm here is amazing, if they NSA is the creator of Bitcoin it would mean they played a part in the rise of all of this-- and I just can't see that being the truth in the least. They probably would've killed us by now if that was the truth.

Here is a forum thread that extensively discusses Dr. Pete Peterson.

On the last page of the thread you will find the transcript of a long interview in which he describes his life.

http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?4417-The-Saga-of-Dr.-Pete-Peterson/

David Wilcock is working together with many people who claim to be whistleblowers of deep black programs in the US government that have been developing very advanced technology. These programs have supposedly developed craft so advanced that they look like they are from out of this world. Therefore this is part of the UFO phenomena. David Wilcock is a well-respected researcher within the UFO community that find Peterson's claims to be credible. Peterson is working together with Wilcock to help him "get the word out" so to speak.

Got your tinfoil hat ready? What do ufologists know about cryptocurrencies? What about Ethereum, Litecoin, Monero and all the other cryptos, who emerged in the wake of decentralized bitcoin network?

A conspiracy theory is an explanation of an event or situation that invokes a conspiracy without warrant, generally one involving an illegal or harmful act carried out by government or other powerful actors. Conspiracy theories often produce hypotheses that contradict the prevailing understanding of history or simple facts.

Christopher Hitchens presents conspiracy theories as the "exhaust fumes of democracy", the unavoidable result of a large amount of information circulating among a large number of people.
