It is always a plus for Bitcoin adoption when celebrities openly endorse or hype it, their followers will follow their words and adopt Bitcoin. It is a good thing that an influential person in Nigeria, like Davido, openly said that he will accept Bitcoin as wedding gift, it goes to show the level of Bitcoin acceptance in Nigeria, because he knows that many of his guests will have Bitcoin wallets addresses to send BTC to his own wallet address. Many Nigerians who are still skeptical about Bitcoin will now understand that it is not a scam. I can not say the same thing about Davido's scam cryptocurrency, if it were a legit project that he believes in, he would have also hyped it when he was telling his guests to gift him with Bitcoin. People should never buy any cryptocurrency because it belongs to their favorite celebrities or because the celebrity hyped a project.

Not just davido or other influencers, everyone who has knowledge of crypto I believe knows the potentiality of Bitcoin, even those who decide to invest on other crypto assets, even the developers of these so called shitcoins.

The reason I believe why people are too scared or not too interested in actively investing in Bitcoin is because, majority of the investor ls in the crypto space are mostly there for the short-term gain and benefits of the market, and we all know that to reap the actual benefits of Bitcoin, one must consider the asset for its long-term potentials and benefits. Those who choose to go into short-term trading usually end up in lose because of the nature of Bitcoin.

Hence, the reason why most investors rush into gambling with their funds via altcoin investments, even when they know fully well about the risks involved in altcoins trading and that majority of the projects out there are mostly pump and dump projects.

It is indeed remarkable and a huge push for Bitcoin Speculations. He indirectly took to the MC that earning in fiat is a stable commodity but can be devalued by economy inflations.

Probably, he being Davido must had made excessive money in the event through fund raising and donations and knowing quite well that he may not be able to spend it all in a short time, so he decided to stack them in Bitcoin for store of value against economy inflation otherwise, a medium of assets storage potentially to yield income.

Regardless I think he has send a signal out there to the world that Crypto is a way to go. Davido requesting to get Bitcoin as gift is nothing new but rather I see it as a message to the high and mighty, the powers that be and etc that graced his wedding. There was no way he could do that than to make it loud there for them to hear. It is good he did that so that they would have a rethink on their decisions against bitcoin and begin amend their lapses by making necessary corrections they already did in the past.
I believe the government is critically looking at the possibility of making an amend because I saw on one of the online dailies where the EFCC boss was making a positive statement on bitcoin/Crypto currency. I believe the government would act upon it soonest.

Davido was worth more than that amount he sold and even if he had lost that amount it wouldn't have reduced his wealth or his fame.

Like, it’s just how these celebrities are and unfortunately, a lot of people follow them on what they say true and true. It ain’t supposed to be so. How do you own a coin (memecoin) of your own but go ahead to promoting or accepting donations in yet another more valued and scares asset like Bitcoin! We are our own problems and it's a pitty that we don't see these problems or maybe we the minority see it but the majority who worship celebrity status for money doesn't see these problems and that's why when celerity do some things, we don't talk and see that as norms in the society and that is what many of them are doing repeatedly.
