Day trading is more than just  "luck" because if you don't have skill you will just be named a gambler not a trader because if you don't have skills you have no insurance.

I'm not sure if I have time to play with charts and trade a lot, like I have seen some youtubers doing.
They make you really believe that is more like a skill and if you are good at it, it works.
My friend told me that is just about how lucky you are, and not a skill.
So, should I stick with holding or playing day trade is a better option?

This is the skill to catch luck) Today a lot of manipulation on this market. If you have time you must read the book "The Black Swan" (Nassim Nicholas Taleb)

It is a combination of skill and being lucky. I have known some professional traders and they understand the market. Although they cannot directly pinpoint what will happen, they have speculation that can help them and always have a trading plan. They know when to enter and exit their trade and they depend more on technical analysis than the fundamental one. Is your friend a professional trader that he knows it is all about being lucky? Well I think not. You still need skills and you cannot be lucky all the time. If you can't take being a day trader since it is so stressful then better stick with holding.

Most of the people depends on luck regarding their investment, they were hoping that the price always goes up so that they will earn. But for me, it can combination of both, Yes there is something regarding investment because you were not sure about the price increase or decrease, however you need to have skill also that in whatever happens you can easily create an action or the plan B once the first decision is ineffective.

For most people, it is luck.
For a small number of people, most of it is luck.
Anyway, I don't believe in graphical analysis, trend analysis, etc.
In my opinion, in most cases, day trading comes from personal emotions rather than rational research.
However, if you believe that the success of day trade comes from luck, it will increase the success rate of your day trade.

Honestly, with the way this market is, I would say anyone who is day-trading cryptocurrencies and making it well is as lucky as skillful as they are because they both go hand in hand.

Sure, skill is definitely a must have, as you will even be more vulnerable to losing everything if you do not have the skills to at least play safe. Considering how extremely volatile the market is, it is a very risky type of trading to do and if you do not know how to use some tools to guide you into knowing what to do at every point in time, then you will be totally screwed before you even realize it.

Mostly they are a very skilled person who is doing day trading because they will act according to the market situation, even they failed they failed to make money through one coin, they won't bother much about other things. They will make the profit through the other coin by doing day trading.

Holding and doing day trade is better but it will become much better if you have some skills. because in trading not luck really matters its like any luck that it happens but you did not give importance so it will only past and you didn't realize that it was a luck. Skills and having a good control in your emotion is much required on this.

This trading about skill with a bit of lucky. Not lucky pure, you must be able to read a chart, news, see the development of coin, analysis of block explorer like rich list, supply, etc. But I'm sure that thrader today is better, especially for beginner

Day trade is just a combination of not just 2 but 3 factors to become a successful day crypto trader these three factors include : attitude, skills and luck. Attitude simply define on how to control your emotion when something got fucked up by your when the technical skills wont work. Skill, this where all about experience and acquired knowledge from the crypto point of view this includes technical and fundamental analysis and prediction plus data gathering from other sources with may help to get the target value the market. Luck, let's cross our fingers if everything else may seems to work.

I do believe it's a skill but here's the thing to keep in mind: consider your competition; you are up against firms and companies and individuals who have better skills, better understanding, and better tools (faster computers, faster internet, etc...) so the house really never looses and the game is rigged against you. your best bet in my opinion to invest in project and coins for long periods of time (weeks).

Investing in Crypto is often based on luck rather than skill. Because the cost of all the altcoins depends on the fluctuation of the bitcoin.
So when the market goes down, we can easily predict the market will go up in a few days. Buying low and selling high is a strategy that is highly valued in this market.

for me , Trading is more likely to be skill ( Knowledge , and experience ) than luck. luck for sure is important in trading but when you study the market you would make sure to not take an emotional steps , you would take strong studied steps

In my opinion day trading takes a lot of risk, time and patience to be good at it. I tried my best before doing day trading without any knowledge or does not even know what I was doing back then but I felt like I need to day trade because it could make me profit more than just hodling my coins. But I end up regretting what I did and now preferred long term than doing day trade. I basically think it is more of a skill than being lucky due to experience and knowledge of course.

For me, day trade is 80% skill and 20% luck. People who blindly trade based on their intuition without applying any particular strategy, are among the loosers. They are such kind of people who scream most after they loose a trade. As you are saying that youtubers use a lot of charts for their trading, there's a significance to it and that is the reason why they use it. It is not a rocket science and anyone can learn it. So if you are too lazy for these kind of stuffs, it better for your to HODL. But if you really want to become a trader, take the pain to learn the tricks and strategies. I am not saying that you will win in every trade after learning the strategies, but at least you can limit your losses and recover it afterwards.

Where is my ring of blades...
it mainly depends on what you are trading!
if it is stocks, Forex,... other big markets then day trading is something like 99% skill and 1% luck. and you can only be successful in it if you have the skill.

but if you are talking about bitcoin then it becomes a little different because bitcoin is still a small market and it is subjected to some unexpected fluctuations. so it is something like 90% skill and 5% luck and maybe 5% timing.

and if you are talking about altcoins then everything goes out of the window because not only they are small but also very manipulated. so it is more like 10% skills 10% luck and 80% familiarity with the market and how manipulation (aka pump and dump) works.

Sure it is a SKILL.If you want to make a whopping 100% profit,HODL until we reach 100%-150%, but it seems we need to emphasize stronger how important it is that everybody HODL until we reach our goal.
It is extraordinary to get a profit of 100-150% a day. With a large amount of capital, that would be impossible. Investment is a job that requires patience and analytical intelligence. To be rich by investing is time consuming. We should not be too eager to invest, it will not bring good results.

If you are a kind of Traders who is more on depend on luck it will never happen to you to become reach on trading aspects here. If you do Trade as a skill, meaning you will learn everything from reading the graph so well then you have a chance to earn here anytime you want.
