My friend just quote this one. I think he is right

Day trading is like having sex.

''Get in and out as much and as fast as possible to get satisfied maximally.''

I think this exactly explains day trading. I am a day trader myself. I rather get in and out of the market 50-100 times a day and take small profits with smaller amounts of my balance than trying to chase a couple percent in 1 trade.

Letterally that's can be compare but emotionally has have a big difference and Personally I can compare this kind of business  into a gambling game which you can earn more money while enjoying the situation and a chance of getting an addiction of it which resulting of your losing.

right, and if you keep in for too long then it might have consequences  Wink
Another side of the story, but for people who loves dealing with short term trading they  always seen the advantage and make sure to maximize everything
favoring their positions, you have to be more observant in order to make a good outcome each time you make any entry and exit from every trend around
the market.

I just laugh at the analogy but I guess it's true in some areas.  Grin

You only don't need a entry strategy, but to mitigate and be satisfied, you have to plan for your exit strategy as well. I mean trading is very dangerous for those who are not familiar how crazy and unpredictable this market is, so if you're not prepared for the worst scenario, you might end up losing your mind as well.

I agree, its funny comparing the two but the point is absolutely right. You have to be fast and dont stay for long because in just one mistake a mess can happen.

Day trading is for people who can deal with this strategy and fast to think what should be the right thing to do to avoid missing out.

I tried to be a day trader too but I cant handle the stress and time you have to spend to be able to take profit on time or else you will lose that trade.

That different thing, because we can loss from day trading and posibillity make stress from it. In this situation of crypto market , day trading can be a activity that make boring because the price of crypto stagnan.
For now maybe a lot of people think about this, because crypto market not really support crypto trading. At least for me because i am not professional, who can take advantage from every situation of market.

and why not ? you can only say those things because you are not good at it but for us veterans and pro traders we can handle every kind situation that will be thrown to us  .  when the market is down we dont feel bored and sad but rather we are happy and verry active to trades  . we can buy low and we can wait for a while and sell it later because the market also shows a small growth from time to time  .  but when it pumps , we are going to be more happier because we can dispose our coins at a high value and we can buy back again when it falls  .  basic  !
That is what my point, because i know i am not really good at trade. And some of my friend maybe only know how to buy and when stuck, we're only can holding. For me holding still be a toughest thing that i can do, because i always panic and sometime cutloss my assets.

Well, I would say that that is a different analogy; a very unique one, I may add. But, I think, there is similarity to it. The trading market is such a risky one that the first chance or instance you get to earn something, you should go for it and not wait a second longer. Many people who have tried the trading market have regretted not jumping on that chance when it is wide open and visible. Just like the sex analogy stated, you should get in and out as fast as possible while reaching the maximum satisfaction. To explain, you should choose a coins to follow up through and once such coin gains traction, you, as a trader, should go for it to earn the best possible income you can get given the circumstances.

Somehow I agree with him. With doing day trading, you need to know when to get in and out and take the profit. As long as you can do that and don't chase a bigger profit, you are safe, and you can take the profit in the price you want.

Perhaps, the only problem traders will have only greediness to chase the profit, and I have a bad experience in chasing a big profit in one-time and now, I realize that I don't have to do that thing if I want to get a stable profit in every day.

Although it is difficult to get a profit every day, I am sure that I can be able to make get those profit and I only need to find the profitable coins and make the order. As many traders do in the daily trade, I still learning on how to make a profit in every situation but still, it is very hard to do and sometimes, I miss my chance to get good coins.

I hope that if you don't make daily trade, you don't get any headache like when you do not make sex in a week hahaha  Grin Grin

sure, quite funny but its day-trading, its all about many quick trades per day by definition
i prefer this style of trading from many, because it allows me to constantly increase my bankroll (reference to bankroll not by mistake, its almost like gambling)

Funny title and agree on it, weird.

I'm planning just to be a trader myself, but one thing is stopping me, the unlikeliness of me being inconsistent in my trades and being emotional. I had found a way to have a job still and keep on trading, and the best part is, I get to do it automatically. Gunbot has helped me make great trades, and I have different kinds of setup to have the right amount of scalping, swing trading, etc. Right now I'm just enjoying the fact that there is already support to margin trading in Bitmex.

Have you seen how a war works? on one side we have an army with generals and soldiers and their war equipment and on the other side we have other generals and soldiers and their war equipment. Whoever won the war will be the army that has the best strategy. It is like in the day trade. You need to have a strategy and you need to know the time to enter and the time to leave.

yes, actually I also feel that daily trading is better because we will not miss the time when the coin price rises, and we will not be wrong in making a decision between selling or buying even though the benefits we will get are only a few.

What kind of sex is "get in and get out as fast as possible" are you drilling for something ? What is investing than ? Having a child ? I do like a good analogy and enjoy comparing two stuff to each other but sex and trading has nothing in common at all. Not even remotely similar.

I understand whenever people see the word "SEX" somewhere it gets attention which is why this horrible example got to page 3 (which I am ironically contributing while complaining) but in all honesty there is no other reason to actually think they are even remotely close, just got attention thanks to the "sex" in the title.

Trading if needs to be compared with anything is like grinding in fifa. Sometimes you play and lose which sets you back, sometimes you play and win which gets you ranked.

This trick has been done by many people, even I did it to buy bitcoin on poloniex and sell it to Bittrex, at that time the exchanger was not too much and I took advantage of the margin from the difference between the selling and buying prices of the two exchangers.

How do you get satisfaction from that though if the price is consistently lower than your entry point when you decide to get out? It applies probably for market movements that are more active than just being pulled down by bears.

We'll we all have different perspectives when it comes to trading but that metaphor is way to extravagant your friend must be really lonely lol. But indeed trading and gaining profit makes it fun and also scary. The excitement of not knowing if you will loss your money or not is thrilling that's most people get hook by it but its very sad to also loss some of your investment. So be careful out there, only invest what you can afford to lose.
