Let the chips fall where they may.

When I have other things I'm typing / searching through, it's easier to just let someone reply with the answer.  :-)

I will be adding you to my ignore list now.

Also, WTF with deepbit?  my rig is in the other room mining, seemingly no problem, but I cannot access the deepbit website from this comp for love or BTC... I tried flushing the dns even, still nothing...
Should be no problems at this moment.

What's happening when you are trying to reach the site ? Connection timeout, domain name not found, connection refused or something else ?

Removed at the request of Tysat.

myeeehhhh... how long average per block?  120 for confirm?  What's the fee?

Oh also... is merged mining implemented?  If not, can it be so?

You'd have to ask them. Check it out in the triplemining thread.

I've registered and am about to start mining... can you provide a link to the triplemining thread please?

Down from here as well.

Slush is being ddosed are we being hit with that shit again  Angry
FUCK SAKES WHY DOES SOMEONE HAVE SO MUCH GREED! IS THIER NOTHING WE CAN DO TO STOP THE DDoSING!

Ever since OWS started accepting donations in BTC, this shit's been happening... HMMMM I WONDER who's behind the ddossing...

I believe pools were getting DDoS'd long before OWS protests.

I should correct myself to say I hadn't noticed any of it til after the OWS started getting more mainstream attention.  Actually I only started mining at the end of August, when OWS was just getting started.

But either way, the banking institutions still have a lot of motivation to quash the Bitcoin network anyway they can, IMO.

I agree the DDosing was certainly not as coordinated before but it would be hard to pinpoint one specific reasoning behind it without knowing who it is.  I wish one of these big pool admins or someone else out in the wild could get ahold of one of the bots doing this for analyzing. It would be very pleasant to track this(these) bastards down...............

But, one good thing that will come of all this is more mining at smaller pools, which in the long run would make that part of the Bitcoin netowrk equation that much more secure.  As it is now, the pool attacks do absolutly zero to hurt 'Bitcoin' from a technical stand point other than potentially slower confirms, which surprisingly, mostly the small pools have been having all the good luck lately so we'll see.

And, damnit, in hind sight on the DDosing, I noticed the global hash was up earlier today and it didn't smell right....... Someone please, please find out who is behind this shit and PM me...................

Oh, certainly.  But if they wanted to, it'd be a lot easier just to wave a couple of billion infront of slush and tycho to buy them off, merge their hashing power behind the scenes, and pull off some nasty double spends - shattering the confidence of the BTC community. And bribing them is the nice way to go.

I believe the most recent ddos attacks have been from pool ops reporting botnet IP's, pissing off the botnet owners.

We have some problems at this moment and I'm working on this.
Hashrate display is temporarily disabled for debugging purposes, sorry (that's why we aren't on bitcoinwatch).

You may need to flush DNS cache.

Flushing DNS doesn't work.  What is the DNS change that should be fixed by flushing DNS?

I use my own DNS servers so I can clear the cache on everything, both the client and the server.

Nslookups on dns2.easydns.net show the same IP address my client had for pit.deepbit.net:
91.223.77.253

dns0.deepbit.net is not responding.
