when I used to trade I did not care for fiat , i was just getting that balance up ,I would often lose U$D but would gain BTC during waves/dips/arb
If you ignore fiat , its better off. I dont even check what btc's at these days just focus on the hustle.
I remember when I was helping on Ark back in the day in the slack there was a guy going off fiat. He was making U$D but Losing BTC. He would still argue with us. To each his own.

No one is hashing?

Anyway...

Update 5/20/19: If you provided a hash, now is the time to reveal your prediction!!!

JDBound is selling The Times from 03 Jan 2009 in an auction thread, starting price 0 BTC with 0.25 BTC increments.

This newspaper is the oldest cryptocurrency collectible, 'emblazoned w/ the infamous headline "Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks".' In 2009, The Times had a print circulation of over half a million, however it seems that very few of these highly desirable newspapers survived.

I'm excited to see what  it's worth. I thought it would be fun to predict the winning price.
The auction ends Monday, May 20 @ 2300 EDT.

How to participate:
1. Make a prediction.
2. Go to https://passwordsgenerator.net/sha256-hash-generator/ (or do it on your own computer if you know how) and calculate the SHA256 hash of your prediction. You can add a salt if you're worried about people snooping on your prediction. (Make sure to remember your salt though!) It'll look like this:

I recommend copying and pasting your prediction into a .txt file so you don't accidentally forget the capitalization or something.
3. Post the SHA256 hash of your prediction in this thread.
4. You can change your prediction as many times as you want, until the deadline. At the deadline, I'll archive this thread. Archive: https://web.archive.org/web/20190516055623/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5140169.0;all
5. After the auction is completed, reveal your prediction. I'll verify that your prediction matches the hash you posted.
5. Whoever's prediction is the closest WINS!

To be counted, get your prediction in by May 15 @ 20:00 PST.

Prize: Bragging rights. (Maybe I'll come up with another prize later.)
