[...]

was it the end of the EUR when entire countries and their banking system ran?
 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

and, holy cow, the largest bubble in history was the JPY bubble in the 1990s, yet JPY is still around

[...]

This is true, kinda like how a train can take a corner real hard and people can fly off the roof.

But, who is selling seats on the roof of a train, that's a good question.  Indeed as you say, fiat debt-based money has worked for a while --until now.

The people have been given the money making machines.  So, the old ways will fade.  You are right though, cryptocoin can endure a fair amount of criminality.  The entire fiat money system has been taken over by gangsters as an alien facehugger takes over a human.  So if fiat can endure the gangster-parasites, then yeah, you make a good point, cryptocoin can endure them as well.

I hate to say this because it makes light of Goxs epic fail and also might make me look like a Gox fanboy but..

Once Gox is gone (if it does actually go that is) some other entity will take its place and be blamed for everything wrong with The bitcoin crashes, slow adoption rate, government crackdowns, attempted government regulationlol,  negative media attention etc etc.

I'd be very surprised if it didn't go under. I've been saying it for months. Gox just ran a awfully shoddy business almost from the start.  And we just need an exchange to come along that can operate properly and securely.

Yep it looks really bad I hold very low expectations for ever getting my money back in a way I would just like it over with so  I could get on with things.

What we would all give for the exchange you describe. Well I say that but I kinda made a loose promise to myself I would use my bitcoins as bitcoins we're intended if I ever got them back and that certainly does not involve fiat exchanges..

Sell ur coins and gtfo if you think this is the end. Stupid fck, was it the end of USD when Maddoff ran?

if Gox is replaced by something stronger, we could see a wave that goes from the 400 to around 2000, the last one went from 250 to 1250.  Shocked

I dont think that this scare off a big part of pubilic.... Smiley one part-maybe... but globally people (who previously did not include in BTC world) see chance to buy cheap BTC and earn in the future
Incorrect. The major exchange in the Bitcoin world scammed/stole/lost the customers funds. When you're new to this, and you look at the current situation, what do you think?
I'd most likely stay back if I hadn't entered here long before.

The core of the post is not about gox but about the change expected. Still if you need to rage I understand and thats ok gox does that to everyone.
You've completely misunderstood my post. I don't need to rage. Why? I was smart because I was not trying to be ignorant. I listened. I stayed away from Gox.

Nope I understood you and I know you have nothing in Gox i have seen you post that elsewhere about that. I don't think anyone sets out to be ignorant btw:) . Still your clearly angry about something. You've called me a gox fanboy in a knee jerk reaction to somthing you dont like. Thank goodness we are on the internets because that could have hurt my feelings otherwise  Grin

My view is not only bitcoin but Gox as a company outgrew Mark and he never faced those facts leading us to what we have today. That or Criminal behaviour in my mind it can only really be one of these two things.

I think that it wasn't a matter of if this would happen to them, but when.  I think they had some serious flaws in their business model such as highest btc prices, difficulty to make withdraws, and just all the hoops you had to jump through just to make your account usable.  When other sites came out that made it much easier to buy/sell, and mtgox couldn't keep up with that, it was not helpful to their business.
This isn't the death of bitcoin, I actually think that this will help.

Yes you look like a fanboy. Gox was not blamed because someone had to be blamed, Gox was blamed because they deserved it, because of their mistakes.
Why have we not seen such issues with Bitstamp?  Wink

this part : because of their mistakes. ..I think you're wrong ... i think you try to say: because of their greed.

As a community we are always going to be taking shots at something even if its at our very own community ( which I might add we already do a fair bit).  Ok sure what ever shit shield comes along next will find it hard living up to Gox I mean man Gox I dont know how you can fail like you do but just you wait Smiley

Bitcoins stability is crazy as shit and when gox is gone its going to usher in a new age of bitcoin peace, calm, tranquillity as well as an ever growing up trend ?

Nope? Thats right its going to keep bouncing all over the place (for now I love that about bitcoin) and life will go on but just with something new to blame for everything. Panic sellers will always find something to panic about.

I have nothing to gain from defending Gox personally I just want my money back from them and I'm done with them lol yea I know not good odds. What I failed to get across I guess is that it wont change as much as you think. Something else will always be there to terrify and crash prices in panic sells.  I don't think at any point i Defended Gox in my post because you simply cant defend their incompetence or possibly their criminal behaviour.  The core of the post is not about gox but about the change expected. Still if you need to rage I understand and thats ok gox does that to everyone.

How could this be a new beginning?
In my opinion, we're entering the great Bitcoin crisis.
explain.. why do you think that this is a beginning of the great Bitcoin crisis? Thanks...
This could set bitcoin back, scare off quite a good portion of the public. Add the recent bad news to this major one..the situation is not good.
