Instead of buying merit try to contribute on the forum by purchasing copper membership, it will also increase your forum capabilities such posting image and waiting time will be more benign/amenable plus wearing a membership is a kindda cool probably that's a self-interest of mine.

I agree with your statement, getting merit in an instant way or buying is not the right thing because it will hinder our knowledge. although it is quite difficult to get merit in a procedure, but it will have a positive effect for us to continue learning in the future.

Newbies don't need to buy Merit, in this forum, there are many Merit Sources, but Newbies only need to stop thinking about rank up just to follow a bounty

I agree, merit must be earned, not bought. This is like corruption, we must fight it. Merit is the right decision, I support.

It makes no sense to me to buy the merit. When guys like me can get the merit naturally from making a post and I do not know the English language well. There must be some small effort from our side. Do not buy merits, you might lose your accounts, guys.

The reason such a market has come to exist is because spamming shitposters and low income country beggars have made this forum their work place and merit has been the barrier stopping them from ranking up because their posts literally have no reading value and nothing worth applauding on. They are thus a prime target for scammers.

Remember that if you are buying merit you are abusing the system and thus will receive punishment since theymos can reverse the merits sent if they wish to. Also any scammer can pose as a merit source and tell you to buy merits but these are frauds, plain scams. A real merit source would never sell their merit because they would lose the post if they are caught.

Let spambies freedom to buy merits, simultaneously with potential red tags.
Give them free options.
I don't see reasons to remind them about this because they all known it (I believe), but simply want to take risks.

If you are desperate enough to rank up you would spend much to buy a merit for you to be able to rank up fast and gain big stakes in bounty campaigns and we cannot control it even newbies will be encourage to buy merits just to rank up especially when you have less knowledge in this forum and you can't share or post some useful topics and replies and in result you cannot rank up fast or gain any merits easily. BUT ... in the end it is still up to those merit donators or let's say merit source if they will sell their merits or not.. We cannot avoid those circumstances because almost (but not all) think of this forum as a money source ! ^_^

Yes, this should things work so that the forum could achieve a nice and clean discussion for cryptocurrency. This is why the admin has imposed merit so as to avoid users to spam here in the forum. As we all know that spamming would likely to happen in a user has a merit and will be qualified for signature campaign. If only there will be rulings for signature bounty to avoid a user to spam for the betterment of the forum then that would be appreciated.

Since Bitcointalk has launched new requirements for Jr. Members (1 Merit) I heard this several times now: Newbies willing to buy one single Merit and pay with BTC (or ETH). It's no surprise, that many Newbies are shocked, when they saw their rank was downgraded. But in my opinion, this is nothing to worry about and after all it’s not worth at all to buy a Merit. I hope some Newbies will read this as Meta is now flooded with posts from them...

This upcoming trend to think about to buy a Merit makes me really sad and there are several reasons why someone should never buy a Merit:

1)
A Merit buy is considered as Merit trade and this is not allowed. If you do so, you risk your account to be tagged red from DT members. If you are tagged, this will mean your account is useless to participate in most Bounties. In addition you have to wear a new signature (or it’s more a personal text): Warning: Trade with extreme caution!
Do you want this? I think you don't, so don't buy a Merit.

2)
Why should you spend money for something, that you can achieve easily? It’s really not very difficult to earn 1 Merit, most likely a semi-helpful post can be enough.
But after all you’ll see how easy it can be if you try and get a Merit. The second one will follow if you keep up posting good comments and you will also get to know how it’s getting easier to post useful comments because you’ll not only earn Merit, you’ll also earn experience how good comments are made and improve your language and knowledge.
My advice: don’t buy your single Merit, earn it! And I’m sure you don’t want to stay a Jr. Member forever, to be a Member you need 10 Merit. This should be your next goal.

3)
If you buy Merit, you will help scammers to enter this Merit trading market and it's well known, that Newbies are not very experienced in spotting scams. You can see this in every Telegram group if some fake Admins PM users and try to scam them.

There are some new Merit sources now and a new bunch of sMerit was airdropped to existing Merit sources a few days ago, the circulating sMerit is now much more than before. It has never been easier to get a single Merit. You see: There is no reason to pay for a Merit.  Smiley

I agree, perhaps due to the rapid growth of new accounts, Bitcoin has launched new requirements for Jabra. Members (1 Merit)

Just walk around buddy, someone buying merit may he has realize, he write a good post but not merited. Meanwhile, who have a Hero, Legendary, write a short post (qiuping, grumbling, mocking post) merited by someone.

Not only merit traded in here, Bitcoin Account has already traded in this forum buddy. So do not to excited.

Maybe sometime, buying a sub-forum will be available in here. LOL

Very true merit is given to the more established account holders "like they pass it back and forth".

Only problem is if you create a "black market" the will always be someone trying to buy or sell merit. Now the forum has probably started a "black market" for merit scammers. Hopfully the forum gets better and not worse.

The topic which published recently by @Theymos, the forum admin, is a helpful one for Newbies.
Writing a welcome message, which should be taken into deeply consideration as a Bibble for all Newbies in the forum.
Moreover, as I stated above, there are bunches of other helpful topics around the foroum.
Strongly recommend Newbies spending their time to read them first before thinking of composing, then publishing any thread.

One thing with buying merit is that it might backfire, because you don't know who you are buying merit from, you could be scammed for it, desperation leads to disaster, I think the best way to earn merit here is by stop been desperate for merit, read more , learn more and enjoy your stay here, merits will come when it comes, you won't even know.

There might even be a far more worse consequence if merit selling happens prevalently on this Jr. Members (or even up to higher ranks). If it will be proven chances are theymos will do another readjustment to the merit requirements for these Jr. Members and this time they might include Members (rank) as well. theymos could easily increase the merit requirement of Jr. Members to 10 or 15 and Members to 20 or 30 if he see things like this necessary, and of course a lot of people will be affected with this new increase but if they will continue to patronize such kind of business I have no doubt that further changes in the merit system will happen.
