Bitcoin is a great crypto -- unless you need to transact with it!! It's about three hours at this point, and my deposit at Polo hasn't even been registered.

Hey, Nikehua. Welcome -- you're a Chinese speaker? Stick around: for a range of reasons, we'd love to have a Chinese speaker in our outfit (and I am in Western Australia -- same time zone)

Hello Uno Chick and DLEX travelers!

My 2 pennies:
Regulation crypto2fiat ... possible (but local trading will become like drug trading?)
Regulation crypto2crypto ... foeGitaBoat-it ... not possible.

Succinct, BN! And I will make sure this post makes it across to the Tgram DLX

And: Lightning Network is coming to GRS -- so that will be the fourth corner of our trading triangle

Me on Wednesday

I'm checking out Helium -- have wanted experience with a masternode for ages.

And decentralised exchanges? They gotta be the third corner of the DLX triangle!

And politically: don't overlook the connection between cryptos and the protests going on in the U.S.

Say what? Yep. Although it's a house built on sand,  the powers that be are tightening the definitions of terrorism and of freedom of speech, and this is translating into even more oversight of financial transactions and the media.

On the value of maintaining good wallet and account security discipline: https://www.wired.com/story/enigma-ico-ethereum-heist/
Though honest mistakes can happen at any growing organization, the Enigma community grappled with the implications of the incident on Monday, wondering how a specialized cryptography company could only now be realizing the need for stringent account hygiene.

In other news, you can use bitcoin. But you can’t hide from the taxman...
IRS Now Has a Tool to Unmask Bitcoin Tax Cheats
http://www.thedailybeast.com/irs-now-has-a-tool-to-unmask-bitcoin-tax-cheats

At least, that’s the hope of the Internal Revenue Service, which has purchased specialist software to track those using bitcoin, according to a contract obtained by The Daily Beast.

Uno at 10% of Btc's hash? Yeh okay. That's splendid!

And the shills on Market Oracle? Geeez, they're still pouring energy into cryptos-aren't-really-money articles. Seriously, are the bullion bugs spooked? Maybe it's Janet Yellen writing under a pseudonym.

Uno Chick is here today -- nearly three years old now.

Lots of stuff on Australia increasing regulation. I think the spot to remain focussed is how lopsided the present model is: fiat in thru
(regulated) 'portal' exchanges, then (regulated) automated-exchange-centric trading. But time/patience = merchants/p2p = solution to the problem.

And: dang!! Massive volume!!

I'm preparing to move my small business into deeper crypto territory. Incoming funds converted to cryptocurrency, bills paid via https://www.livingroomofsatoshi.com, books updated to reflect income stream as rising market in coming months will mean greater value for my dollar overall, dips notwithstanding.

Dash Jumps to New All Time High on News of Arizona State University Partnership, Reaches Fifth Place in Market Cap
https://cointelegraph.com/news/dash-jumps-to-new-all-time-high-on-news-of-arizona-state-university-partnership-reaches-fifth-place-in-market-cap

Not directly the point of the article but this Q&A was expressed with clarity:

CT: Many are saying that crypto is in a bubble that's due to pop, and others believe that this is actually the beginning of a multi-year bull market. Still others think that this is the very beginning of mass adoption. Where do you stand?

JV: With all three, as unhelpful as that answer may be. Much cryptocurrency valuation is based on projects which have yet to (and may never) deliver a viable product to end users, and that can certainly be called a bubble. As far as investments are concerned, we are very likely in the beginning of a multi-year bull market as investors around the world are waking up to viability of digital assets. As far as mass adoption is concerned, I would say we are not even at the beginning, not even close. Bitcoin's network congestion hit the pause button on adoption, possibly setting it back years. Dash is taking a good stab at mass market adoption with the upcoming Evolution update...

Dash-centric answer but still, interesting.

Average transaction fees for bitcoin, over $4 right now

Bitcoin and Monero don't pass the 'cup of coffee' test.

Doge's inflation subsidizes low transaction fees, probably.

Not useful to anyone reading this here probably, but a good 'bit sec 101' for new users, perhaps.

"Some of the recommended strategies are using Bitcoin services that ensure the Bitcoin users will remain anonymous during and after the transactions, utilizing a virtual private network (free or paid), and using a new address for every transaction."

' "it's a virtual bloodbath." '

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-06-25/its-virtual-bloodbath-cryptocurrency-carnage-continues

The author is in a flap because -- wait for it -- two cryptos in the Top Ten have dropped 10% in price!! S/he has obviously been following cryptos since about . . . yesterday afternoon.

Seriously though, check the comments at the bottom. I recall when no crypto-related articles at all were published on Z.H. Then it was one or two, but the bullion bugs made The Tired Old 'It's not really money' comments. Now, there are not just articles on Bitcoin on both Z.H. and Market Oracle, but they're talking about the whole Top Ten.
