The decentralized for exchange idea is a new step. But it has many development problems such as UX and UI that are too sketchy and error-prone. Not only with decentralized for exchange, most dapps have a similar situation. This is a difficult problem for ETH and other blockchain project
That's indeed and it was consuming a lot of fees for each transaction consider any transaction will be directly to the blockchain. But some DEX trying to fix it but the difficult thing is about how to attract the demand for this dex.
Eventually people will be moving to decentralized exchange because the purpose of crypto is to decentralized everything.
The current set up now is not attractive, we've also seen a lot decentralized exchange get's hack or traders got phished on the wrong URL.
It will take time to develop and to satisfied clients but I'm sure one day they can find the best feature that would guarantee safety to users.

A lot of talks, promotions, lunch and execution of DEXes are really happening in this year and I seems that the level of response has really increase.
It is a gradual process. If the use of decentralized exchanges are the ways in which our funds can be safe, then it is much better

Adoption of decentralized exchanges will see an all time high in 2019, cross chain decentralized trading and atomic swaps will start to become the norm Wink

a true decentralized exchange provides many benefits:

  • No need to give up control of your funds
  • Censorship resistant orderbook
  • Impossible to hack
  • No concerns of fake volume and manipulation

This week Binance CEO CZ recommended people store their crypto on reputable exchanges... but what is reputable? If you do not have your private key, well then can you really call it crypto?

What are your thoughts? Will 2019 be the year of DEX?
I personally like the decentralized exchanges because you can carry out all you trading without anyone even having idea of how much you have or worth.

I really noticed a lot of interest in decentralized exchanges. Especially in connection with the news of hacking reliable centralized exchanges, the question arises that DEX is exactly what we need. I agree with you that the number of such exchanges will only grow.

We already have so many decentralized exchanges and I don't think there is need for more. Some can still be scams. What if the server shuts down from the DEX service providers, you can still loose your funds.

I also noticed that some of  my coins can only be traded on Decentralized exchange, and because of what happen to Cryptopia people will have second thought trading on centralized exchange, but we'll have to see if Decentralized exchange can really place centralized exchange this year

The rate at which centralized exchanges are being reportedly hacked or losing liquidity is quite alarming. This might either be the work of hackers or even insiders, even at that, had it been the exchange one is using is centralized, then it would not have been possible for anyone to tamper with the fund of another, not even the creator of the site, because you have full access to your fund.

DEXes have their benefits but still they are not popular and widely used and centralized exchanges. I have big hopes
to Binance`s DEX and I will use it for sure.

I don't think so, as the trend is absolutely opposite. I would like of course to decentralized exchanges became more and more, but it is unlikely to happen.

I am sure that DEXs are the upcoming trend, because I prefer to trade on decentralised exchanges and always when I have such an opportunity I am doing so. But unfortunately there are no so much coins that could be exchanged on DEXs at good prices.

Decentralized exchanges were always on top of my list and it was about time for them to catch value, liquidity , trust and a lot of new volume per 24h. I think 2020 will be main year when this exchanges will come to light.

The only thing I don’t like on decentralized exchangers is the price. Often the price there is too low. Will this affect the cryptocurrency economy? Although I like these exchanges very much.

Decentralised exchanges are becoming popular by the day, except for the lack of volume, I think decentralised exchanges have so many advantages that make me believe that it will enjoy more support this 2019.

For me whether it is a decentralized or a concentrated floor, my hold coin should not be on these exchanges. This is dangerous as there is no need to put all the assets up here. As for non-central exchange, I think it still has too much to do to attract users

There have been very many Decentralized Exchange that I think are good. for example IDEX, Forkdelta. I often use both for trading purposes. Only with a private key, traders are facilitated to trade and take profits.

Decentralized exchanges are not so popular as their interface is not user friendly and they have no customer service.
DEX-es can also be hacked, they are  not an exception. ( EtherDelta was hacked end of 2017).
Have high expectation to Binance  launch of it`s DEX.
