It seems good. But your creative solution also remind me that probably smart contract will be a better solution for the pump and dump issue. This years the news said that smart contracts were coming to litecoin. I'm not sure whether dev will do if for DeepOnion or not. But it's worth to think about it.

This solution may indeed hinder those who are planning to withdraw more than 90% of the airdrop.
I just dont understand why would they still resprt to selling all of their coins for a few amount of money..
If they really need money right away why not just sell the 10% and leave the rest until 40th airdrop.
.
People you are depriving yourself of the advantage and blessings that deeponion wanted you to be a part of...
Think of this please....

To clarify they're NOT giving them to ALL forum, members, only those who chase the signature bounty, hence it's not an airdrop just a low-entry barrier bounty campaign.  I'm concerned how often it's mis-named an airdrop open to all when it's not.

The nature of the campaign incentivizes multiple accounts and frivolous posting to boost rewards as well which actually increases PnD risk.

"the pump and dump" dilemma.
.
For those who are planning to sell a bulk of their onions before the completion of 40th airdrop.
Simply think of what you could lose...
You are not just denying yourself of the weekly airdrop...
But instead you are also gonna regret not being able to be a part of these growing community along with the increase of its coins price.
What you are selling today is just a very ample amount as compared to when you can complete until the 40th...
So why not just stay with us until the end, and together we will reap what we sow...
Cheesy

very well said. if they sell it now, they will likely to regret what they have done. deeponion's community development is the key for it's price to go up. dev team are very industrious making deeponion a top currency in the future.

After 40 weeks, demand can easily buy all the supplies. since in 40 weeks or less deeponion is gonna go mainstream.

What about after the 40 weeks? A little more than 9 months then you can just dump all.

I think we can actually have some control over dump until 40th airdrop, after that as mentioned, people will dump the coin and the value of this coin will take a huge huge hit. I am sure there are many already right now who are reading this post and smiling because they know they will be doing exactly what is being discussed here.

I think if we can come up with a MN function or some sort of additional incentive plan that will encourage people to hold on to Onions and not dump it. I mean that's just my thought.

What you guys think?

Hopefully by the 40th airdrop Deep Onion will have a much much bigger community and audience and most of the holders won't dump their coins because the project really has potential.

100% is even better. making those dumpers hold their deeponion coins. the development team is actively improving their rules which is good.

Why 80% i wonder,  why not just make them buy back double at 100%.  I've got to say that i'm extremely impressed with the Dev's bandwith in keeping up with all these distributions, bannings, unbannings, case by case scenarios etc.  I can only imagine how much time it takes.

I think DeepOnion should start to think of widening the user base beyond airdrop members. For this purpose I think a web wallet would help to get un-technical people involved.

@420_Lord ( lol , what a name Wink) . I think it is difficult to mmaintain multiple accounts eligible for the airdrop campaign. If you have let's say 3 , you must post at least 30 posts per week with at least 100 characters and so on ...

I think this method can work, but there will always be people who have multiple accounts.
I wish i could join the airdrop but they don't allow Junior members anymore!

Actually they accept Jr. Member.
Your account must have been created before July 12, 2017, so it should be good for you  Wink
And it is only the 6th round over 40 so you have plenty of time to participate!

One good thing about the Deeponion community is that it has a unique set of developers which will finally solve the issue of almost all altcoins have a problem in common:

"the pump and dump" dilemma.

Premise:

  • DeepOnion will airdrop onions every friday for 40 weeks. (free onions for everyone on bitcointalk) so after the airdrop, "Dumpers"will immediately withdraw all 100% onions from their airdrop wallet and sell them to exchanges, which would cause a "pump and dump" trend. by these trend, it will signal other traders to dump their onions before the price fell on its knees.

Conclusion:

10% withdraw rule. (Existing)

  • Users that will withdraw more than 10% from their airdrop wallet will be blacklisted. therefore they are not eligible for future airdrops.

This is a good idea it

Penalties (Future) take note, this is the real solution.

  • Users that want to appeal their blacklisted status will pay a penalty of 80% (upon the discretion of the developers, can change every week)

for example:

if "Client A" withdraws all his 1,000 Onions then the dev team immediately detected that he violated the 10% Rule. Client must replenish his airdrop wallet with the amount of 1,800 Onions so that he will be eligible for the next airdrop. If not, he will not be included in the future airdrops to come.

calculations are as follows:

1,000 x 1.80 (80%) = 1,800

This Solution will ensure that people with the strong intention to pump and dump the Onions will not profit from it anymore. Solving the age-old dilemmas for altcoins.

DeepOnion Delivers!

This is a good idea!

It can help to discipline the participants to hold their coins until the airdrops campaign ends.
