Look at you two in the black already! Good timing.  Cheesy

whether he admits it or not, Proudhon was born to be long.

He was long back in April... he's simply coming back to the good side.

Proudhon, welcome back.

I guess this is as good a time as ever to admit that I went all in back at $2.4 but have had my finger very nervously over the sell button ever since.

Ha! You were trolling us all along!
You were simply a bear so that you could buy more, weren't you? One of the many fake bears on this forum, I guess.

I could grab a penny!

we could very well be on the verge of Proudhon pumping Bitcoin!!!

lol.  I just want to understand how this leveraged trading business works.  It's mystifying the way you guys talk about it.

how u likin this Proudhon!!!? you be makin MONEY!!!

LOL. You guys need to teach me this trading business as well. Seems too damn hard with all these terms. WTF is spread or margin ? I feel like an idiot every time I read the speculation board.

Google should be sufficient to teach you how to trade Smiley

If not, read the drug dealer analogy up there.
Leverage = You borrow money and use it to take a position on the market.  Later on, you return the money.  If you lose enough money, your own balance is wiped out and you have to repay the loan.  It's a way of multiplying returns.
Spread = Ask - bid: Bitcoinica makes a profit by buying low and selling high to you.  They sell to you at the ask (you buy at ask when you go long), vice versa for bid.
Shorting = When you borrow bitcoins to sell, and the market takes a plunge, and then you buy more bitcoins and keep the difference.

gaud, what i'd pay to see Proudhon get excited... Wink

This is pretty cool.  I still don't get what the fuck I'm supposed to do.  Liquidate?  Withdraw?  What's the difference?  I'm sure I'll figure it out.  I guess I picked a ok time to go long.  Grin

LOL, the market is climbing just b/c of Proudhon.  how ironic; after all his trolling, if he ends up owning an island next to the rest of us.

for me is like this
10:1
you go to a drug dealer and you have 100$ he give you another 900$ so you can go and buy a larger bag of drugs  if the value of said drugs goes below 900 you have to give the bag to your dealer and then you need to pay him some taxes

Excellent analogy.  It works like when you get a front from your dealer.   Wink

sold one at .35 and my position now is lower i am at $6.2841 $6.2927

Yup, instead of giving you your profits, it actually lowers your baseprice as you partially close your position. Once you completely close it, you will receive your profit. But why close it now though? Should have kept it! We're currently on our way UP Smiley

Right -- if you want to extract some of your profit that you have made so far, just do a withdraw.  If you sell (or buy when short) any of your position, it will just affect your base price.

Beware when withdrawing though, to leave enough in margin in case of a sudden spike.  Object is to not ever liquidate (mine, anyway).
