I have slightly mixed feelings. I don't support gambling or do it. I have in the past. I would like to say that I believe we all have the right to do as we please with our money and if you want to gamble that is fine but limit yourself. If you do not limit yourself you can very easily gamble everything you have in a single sitting. Hell even if you a millionaire you can lose all of it. The amount you have doesn't matter since you can risk it all if you want. Even Bill gates could go broke if he gambled every single cent.

The other side is that people that win big never regret the gambling they have done and you can never win if you do not play. I think gambling is fine as long as you set a limit. Gambling can be your hobby but never spend more than your allowance and some people such as myself have a personality that just doesn't suite gambling at all. Be safe guys and don't gamble your life away.

First, maybe this is not an appropriate board to discuss with this stuff. You can see more discussions about this matter on the Gambling Discussion board.

Don't blame gambling, they haven't had a negative effect if you know how to control your self over gambling. If you are regularly visiting the Gambling discussion board, you will always see this advice. "Only gamble of what you can afford to lose ". Engaging in gambling as a newbie isn't bad at all if you treat this as a fun activity not just a source of income. Just like spending bucks of dollars to watch a movie in the theater while eating pop-corn.

As a newbie, gambling without calculation and self-control will only make him lose and spend money in vain. But it will be different if you understand what is done.

Gambling does have many negative effects. Expect instant big income without working a lot.

Gambling is an option and should not be made as a source of income, controlling yourself from gambling will be very difficult if you are only interested in instant and large income.

Do you a gambling addict? You give a lot of point here but I just doubt that you've faced those point. I will believe to you if the point that you put is real and you've felt it but if you just find those point on internet then I think it will be worthless. We can't give an advice to someone that we never fell the situation it will be different.

Well said mate, but I think this should be on gambling discussion's section, it is true that gambling has so many bad effects on gamblers but actually it depends on the person who is playing, if you are going to be addicted on it then it will really be harm for you, one of the bighest impact of it is it may destroy your life, that's true because some of the uncrontrollable gamblers do not know how to control their selves while playing, they cannot live in a single day without betting, it is already part of their lives yo the point that some of the valuabke things that they usually have done are now nothing.

Why avoid gambling, gambling is not a virus to be avoided, many people in gambling want to have fun, enjoy, relations and so on.

You should know how to love and take care your health and mental first than money.

The 10 pawns you mentioned have a point, but all of that can happen out there, not necessarily for gambling addicts.
Many many factors besides gambling can be like: points 4, 7, 8, 10. In this life, what else with this situation that is currently sweeping the world.

If we can control ourselves, you will be fine in the world of gambling.

That is why some people advise staying away from gambling before it gets them. Only a few people make fortune in gambling and even those who win big time in gambling end up losing their fortune through gambling too. There are also a lot of crimes that are related to gambling addiction. Never look at it as a light that will save you financially because gambling addiction had already ruined a lot ofnlives and dreams.

This is definitely wrong, every gambler starts being newbie, we just learn from our experience.
Beginners as long as they are educated before they enter in gambling, they should be fine, most of us are losing money but not most of us are having a problem when it comes to gambling, we lose money but we enjoy because our aim is to be entertain and we need to get it.

You can't gamble if your impulsive, easily swayed by your emotions. That's pretty much the premise of every single bad action a gambler could do after all. It isn't really a matter of destroying yourself financially or your family, any type of addiction could do that. Impulsiveness is a characteristic that pretty much turns around your entire life after making one wrong decision after all, and unlike schools, we all know how rl is much much crueler. If you make a mistake, a scolding isn't the only thing you'd get, there would always be a punishment befit for your misdoings. Gambling in of itself isn't wrong IMO. The concept of playing with your money which is most often seen negatively isn't wrong, cause tbh, if it was, even the simple action of buying a toy/game for yourself is already wrong. Gambling is a form of entertainment, just that, most people go beyond what it is supposed to be, leading it to be seen as a negative activity.

If possible, gambling should be avoided. I completely agree with you on that. But these points that you are enumerating are results of gambling going mad, of what is supposed to be just a mere hobby becoming a vice, of what is supposed to be something done for fun becoming an addiction, and so on. These are the results of unmitigated gambling. These points are noteworthy especially to those who have yet to start loving gambling. There are reminders of what will happen to a gambler if he/she surpasses moderation.

I never saw something full of negativity about gambling. To summarize, you simply mean gambling is something that will devour our so-called precious life when it is clearly not in the first place. Fault blaming when it wasn't gambling's responsibility? It is the other way around man, it is the person who can't afford to control his/her self. Gambling isn't bad, it is the addiction that should be addressed, well, if you find gambling as a quick-money generator then there must be something that needs to be fixed with your POV 'cause everything else would be harmful for you. Gambling is merely a game that requires money, your bet must be held as your responsibility so no matter what the result are, it is all about on your own accord on putting such amount. After all, you can back out but you choose not.

1. Gambling: A curse that destroys you financially
It doesn’t take a lot of time to dig up a huge financial hole if you have an impulsive gambling obsession. Gambling can take away hundreds or perhaps even thousands of dollars in no time and add up to your debts.
Gambling isn't a curse, it's a choice.

It will destroy you financially if you are not a responsible gambler and you have no plans when to stop and when to continue. The result varies to your decision and how you do it. Some do really make their break in gambling and as we know, many don't.

No one forces anyone to gamble in the first place.Yours are good advices for people who want to begin gambling to consult with but the problem is that if a person is decided to play gambling he will not be stopped by any advice he is given. The reason is he doesn’t really know what gambling is so he will try out himself first.

The only time I would suggest doing gambling if you know how to control yourself(e.g. not depositing a huge amount of money to try to make back the losses). Me personally, I gamble from time to time, as I like betting on DOTA2 and CSGO games as I personally find that placing bets makes the experience much much better. I only place like a maximum of $20 per game though, definitely not more than that.

Not many gamblers can really control themselves particularly when they are already hooked in the game. Maybe the reason why the OP is suggesting to avoid gambling at all cost. But for me, since I only bet small just for enjoyment and killing the time, I don't find gambling to be of significant effect on me. But if you are one in those mentioned by the OP, maybe you need to re-assess your lifestyle and decide which life you want to traverse in the long term.

All of it are nice warning OP and I understand why you suggesting these cause a lot of people have been drowned on gambling and wasted their life. Fair judgement but of course there are also reason why those people loves to gamble. If this one is really bad why there are lots of it? Of course its all about business and money right?

I cant blame those who are doing gambling cause actually this is their comfort zone or entertainment ro relieve stress from work or business they are running into. It's just some people way over the enjoyment and proceed to addiction level already.

Playing to have fun or a bit of excitement when you watch matches (tennis, football, soccer, etc.) but don't let you get addicted to gambling as well as any other things. Scammers get addicted to scam behavious. Scam fighters get addicted to scam detections. Gamblers get addicted to gambling and betting. Intraday traders get addicted to very short term tradings. Good posters get addicted to quality of posts.

To sum up, whatever you do, you have to take breaks to avoid addictions and keep your mind as neutral as possible.
