Was any coins in danger with this attack on Poloniex or just web page went temporary down. I am nto so technically smart. Can anyone tell me please?

To my knowledge it was just a denial of service attack and no wallets were in danger.

No one really knows anything about the supposed pending attack though.

I would not be so sure about that. It is not like Poloniex is a master in security, if you think i'm mistaken just look at Mintpal.

Polo is my favorite exchange...
But they are barely surviving at 200-300 BTC/day volume...
Betting on CryptoNotes just bought them a little time...
And they are desperately adding NXT assets... and anything else with a pulse.

They are probably dead unless they move offshore.

A week long DDos attack would pretty much cripple them...
Except that the MooPal clusterf*ck gives everyone some breathing room for a while.

Poloniex got hacked in the past but they at last had the balls to tell people about that.. lets see what will happen if there is another breach. Last time it almost made the exchange broke.

I guesss they didn't take him seriously as they banned right before they dropped. Probably not a smart move on thier part.

Yep, taking anyone to be another XMR troll is not wise after some Hackers found a serious bug inside Cryptonote coins.
Again this is what you get if you think Centralized exchanges will do any good for you.

Btw, why XMR don't trade on Bittrex ?

Sure, like Poloniex wants to attract the attention of law enforcement . . . dying to give the FB! a tour around their servers . . .

It does not even have to be Poloniex. All it takes is one user who lost money because of the DDOS.

they can unban I believe.

what does BCX gain by ddos poloniex?

A 15 year jail sentence in a lot of countries.

And in some places, a bullet in the back of the head for commiting an act of cyber terrorism.

If Poloniex wanted to play hardball. They have an email address linked to his account which could be used to track him down a la Dread Pirate Roberts.

Sounds like the challenge was on the table

Hard to believe that barely moved the price needle.  Either direction.  I'd figure that little display would chase more people out (not me, of course).  Strong hands!

Poloniex states 20 min ago on twitter that all funds are safe and they are under a ddos attack atm...but why is bcx banned(@poloniex?) and why is he tryna get them down?  Tongue

haha, wasnt he suppose to kill monero?Huh This forum sure is cyber-cowbyspace...lol. Popcorncoin should pop up soon I guess ^^.

Because that is what he did before:

The chain with 1.1 diff will make 12000 first.

I'm going to pull off the other chain and consolidate everything I got on the chain Cryptsy IS NOT on to make it to 12000 first.

Told those bastards not to ban me LOL
