General rule of thumb, if Malwarebytes doesn't flag it, it's generally OK.

Another general rule of thumb, if Avira flags it, you're probably still ok.

Suspicious of Moon lovers? I am suspicious of Moon Haters. Is it really So strange that there wIlL be People that Support the coin who are just miners? God people are soo.. so.. soo.. welll.. Whats the word... Nasty when they are jealous. Maybe ther is a virus version floating around, maybe ther is not. All I know is the QT Available from the Dev source is fine. Completely ripped from DOGE Coin, but thats ok. If I had the nouse to do it, Id be Making "Jay Coin" (My name is Jayson) LOL. and Coz im a lazy SOB i'd prolly use the Open code Moon used. Every body just relax, start doing drugs or something, coz acting like this you gonna give your self an Ulcer, man you need to take some pills or something. lol

P.S. Many Walletsz, miners and Assoc Plugins etc can give False Positive Virus Alerts too, so Chill! Dont hate stuff so much, esp c oz you missed out for what ever reason.

Merry Mining Everybody!

Jst another Moon Hater Upset coz instead of mining early sat there whinging about how it was pre mined, so what if it was, I only got an R9 280x and mined over 1 million inside a week, almost 4 days after release, now the moon haters know they messed up and are trying to encourage you to leave moon coin alone. they have tried every tactic. Now they think if they can scare you out of using a Moon Wallet, you might just sell off your coins and not bother with moon coin and you might then go support a coin that they got in early on. LOL. Nothing wrong with moon coin, well...erm. it had a few hick ups, but almost every other coin did too, very few can say their launch was perfect. To the Moon!! & Cha Ching!!!

Look I tested this idiots claim.  the moooncoin wallet does *NOT* contain a virus, and MMos before you go accusing people of including viruses, do more than a simple scan.. at least have some proof.  The only proof I have right now is that MMos is a fin Retard.

test your mooncoin-qt.exe
 Shocked

And while you're at it, check the latest bitcoin-qt and dogecoin-qt wallets and see the exact same false positives.

Is Xpajkiller safe?  Shocked
from kasper lab officical site...probably not as safe as the mooncoin wallet Cool

and the worst case scenario is the scan coming out saying your computer is clean

I see I was scanning the downloaded files, but the extracted mooncoin-qt.exe does give the results

is it something to worry about or not ?

I just googled the name used the xpajkiller to scan system, better safe than sorry.
IMO there should be no excuse for releasing even a wallet than contain anything remotely similar to a virus in it.

As I said before, I am only here to inform, you can take it as any other news, I just thought I would share this as it could be everyone's concern.

....funny how normally people would think the updated wallet is all good and well from the official site, and overlook having to do a virus scan on it.

most of the coin qt's get flagged. Sometimes gives false positive, better to check it yourself and see if it is doing something strange.

I believe it's because it has that miner built in. cgminer gets flagged by my antivirus program too.

FYI. I just downloaded both win files from website and scanned it on virustotal. Came back 0/50
http://download.mooncoin.info/

https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/5aed6daf99f66141668b92ba9bf1b7b29028f3336d209d2725e9e514e4e3d574/analysis/1390634810/

Not sure about your file, maybe check the hash and the download location before spreading FUD?

YUP! I AM SPREADING FUD! Look at the file I scanned, and also there were a bunch of random posts that were posted seconds of someone pointing out the virus and I was only lucky to catch glimpse of the virus warning, if you don't believe me look at the part where someone said there was virus ...I am merely warning people of this and the suspicious activity of "some" members to try and hide the virus warning.

I wouldn't be surprised the dev already changed the download link with a clean file...I scanned my wallet and I saw the virus warning, so you can believe it or not, just giving everyone a heads up.

I was not the person who pointed out the virus, I only thought it was the right thing to do to warn as much people as possible...

IF ANY OTHER FORUM MEMBER CAN SCAN THEIR MOONCOIN WALLET AND CONFIRM PLEASE DO! I AM MERELY GIVING EVERYONE A WARNING BEFORE THOSE DEV(S) TRIED TO COVER UP A BOTNET IN THE WALLET FROM OFFICIAL SITE
