With all these merchants jumping on the bitcoin bandwagon don't expect the price to be going up any time soon.
Massive downward pressure will come from this.

Was good news but days ago.
Not such good news, well it's good as bitcoin will get more popularity, but it also means more dumping as dell needs fiat to work with.

But don't you think the short term dumps are worth the long term upside of such a well known and respected company like Dell showing interests in Bitcoin?  Isn't this what we really all want to see happen or is their a better option you maybe had in mind?  I've hear people say this is not so good but I'm not sure I understand why they feel that way and would like to understand their perspectives better.

Can't we now go to local shops or the press and say hey did you know xy and z companies accept Bitcoin and you should also?  Isn't the upside worth a few dumps which to me means cheap coins aren't completely out of the picture.

OP, we already celebrated this a while back, so the excitement has died down a bit. But of course I know "normal" people don't camp daily bitcoin news, so you're forgiven  Cheesy. Now just waiting for more large merchants to accept bitcoin.

Yes, this is old new but it's good to reaped because still many people don't know about it.
I hope many other ''big'' merchants will follow Dell and also accept Bitcoin as payment option.
This will help Bitcoin to finally become mainstream and globally accepted.

It is pretty cool that Dell is now accepting BTC, but I haven't bought anything from Dell...ever.   In terms of laptops, I think it would be great for PC users, if Acer or Asus starting accepting BTC because I always use their ultrabooks.

In terms of brand recognition though, this is a major score for BTC
They have actually been accepting bitcoin for ~a month now.

I don't think it is necessarily good for brand recognition but rather it is good that they are accepting bitcoin because it should increase consumer adoption. For every additional merchant that accepts bitcoin, there is one additional reason why someone might want to start using bitcoin.

This is news to me also and was pretty exciting reading the OP only to then read it is old news haha.  Hey old or not it made me happy for the simple fact that it's good news free promotion for BTC.  Not to mention another big player showing interests in Bitcoin is another step in the right direction towards mass adoption..  Ladies and gentleman please fasten your seat belts the ride is about to begin. You're weeks behind  Grin

Old news.
Who cares some people even don't know the thing called internet even exists. How about that?

Well I do know the thing called internet, but didn't know this Dell thing.
Nice news!  Too bad I spent most of my allowance of Bitcoin at Newegg on their 30% off deal.
So many deals, time to get some more cheap coin.

......if only i have plenty of bitcoins. haha.

Yes and I believe you get 10% discount for using bitcoin instead of fiat.
This is limited to only alenware and does not apply to all dell purchases. (AFAIK)
