Now the question: Is there is demand for those notifications outside Telegram?
Yes Smiley

You mean you're going to compete with my notification bot, and improve it? Do it! You're better at it, and your setup is far more flexible than mine.

I never use browser notifications, and won't install any add-on, but I can see a use for email notification. It's easy to create a private email address, and works on any device you want.

I have not used your Telegram bot, but I see that many people prefer this type of notifications. Creating a website inside ninjastic.space would be ideal, although I prefer userscript, as you will get a box between MY MESSAGES MEMBERS called Notifications, where you can customize your notifications.

But easy solution for many people right now is to use a browser like Opera that lets you to have a sidebar with telegram extension. You receive telegram notification on the left, open it and then immediately access the link.

I believe there are Telegram extensions for all major web browsers (like this one for Chrome, or this one for Firefox). Or you can use something like Twitter messenger, which unifies multiple platforms and works very similar to what you have in the Opera browser.

The Bitcointalk super notifier bot created by @ TryNinja have been of great help to forum members over the years as it has made navigating the forum very easy for users because most people ain't too stable or always online to monitor activities in the forum but through the help of the super notifier, it has made the forum more accessible to users over the years.

Just like the OP said, not every one uses telegram simply because some persons doesn't like the use of telegram or maybe their devices doesn't support the installation of telegram just like me, my mobile device doesn't support installation of telegram though I do get notifications through my email address but I think the telegram super notifier bot by TryNinja updates informations about the forum as quick as possible more than the use of email address so creating a website for users that doesn't use telegram to also be a beneficiary of this enhanced method of navigating the Bitcointalk forum would be a welcome development.

Is there demand on Telegram bot? Can you reveal the number of people that use your Telegram bot?
Of course, or else I wouldn't even keep it up. Smiley

I've shared the numbers many times. Now:

972 users
6~7k notifications per day

The plan is to eventually refactor the code and launch a website (inside ninjastic.space) with all features currently available on the bot.

Your telegram notifier is great if it does those jobs you listed in OP. I haven't used them because I am not that kind of a forum popular guy. I could go all weeks without being mentioned by anyone. But if someone quotes me, I have a way to know about it. For merit notification, I don't think that I need that. I can always check who merited me whenever I come online.

Would you use a website, setup email or browser notifications, etc... for all the stuff I wrote above?
Email notification might be spammy.
Website might be expensive to maintain.
Browser notification could be the second nice option after telegram notification.

Is it possible for you to create a whatsapp bot?
I can't see enough demand for that. Also, I would have your phone number, a privacy nightmare I don't want.
Is there demand on Telegram bot? Can you reveal the number of people that use your Telegram bot?
If there is a privacy issue with whatsapp, then I think that there won't be enough demand for it.

No, it's not possible for me to get your IP. All I know is your telegram handle (not your IP, location, telegram phone number, etc).
Okay, that's cool.

By the way, if it's possible for you to create an extension that will let us to view notifications directly on website, that will be great. But easy solution for many people right now is to use a browser like Opera that lets you to have a sidebar with telegram extension. Im using the telegram bot notification since it was released its great help to me get notified of the merits, replies and topic posts created, i guess for enhancement is the SMS but sure I know this needs to pay a subscription if use this feature, other than this it could possible if there's discord? I dont know if Discord has an API many active users in the world of crypto and NFT use this platform another is If a notifier uses an extension I guess it's a good feature too.

Sorry if this is coming late, I just saw it. First, let me thank you for the good notification work done with the Telegram integration, I must say that I'm enjoying it.

But using the notification service on another channel could only mean more compromise and the risk is too high for those who want to keep their privacy. Telegram has been the best shot for people these days when it comes to a thing like this. Not even Whatsapp can be able to compare itself in this regard.

I wouldn't want it in my email for personal reasons, but if it can pop up when I am actively surfing the Bitcointalk is a very good option. I am not a tech-savvy guy, but so long as it's working fine without compromising one's privacy, I think it is a good one.

I don't know
I feel even if you pick another option
Not everybody would subscribe to it
Some prefer Websites
Some would prefer the email
Their preference stems from various reasons
Imo, wouldn't creating another come along with some costs especially in cases of setting up a website
I don't really use my telegram account for anything at part from using your Bot.
But some users are concerned about their privacy
So a website to send the notification would be good and subscription can be based on their Bitcointalk handle.
Something like a web push Notification
This can help protect privacy especially when used together with a good VPN or browser that supports users privacy.

First of all, your telegram notifier is a very good thing but since you want to meet the demand and reach those users who don't use Telegram, then I think that Whatsapp bot will be a very good idea because in Europe almost everyone uses whatsapp, it's the most popular messenger. Is it possible for you to create a whatsapp bot?

I have been using the telegram bot for some times. Does the job like a charm. Pretty satisfied, nothing major to complain. But despite it's usefulness many users doesn't use this. Only because it's connected with telegram. When it comes to telegram many people have an negative feelings towards it.

Maybe seeking alternative solutions can help. Like the one I previously saw, a push notification extension. Or something like that I presume.

Personally I'm using your Telegram bot, but I have read comments that some people aren't using Telegram because it requires their phone number and they don't want to reveal it. So, I guess there is demand for notifications outside Telegram.
I think that browser extension with notifications would be something perfect. Another option would be notifications through email, but I'm not big fan of it as I already getting too much stuff to my email.

Even after that many hurdles, we have to use Telegram and almost every person who is in crypto must have at least one Telegram account so I don't think that would be a problem.
I don't think that Telegram is must use app for everyone in crypto world. As you can see replies in this thread, there is quite a lot people who don't use it.

I loved your enthusiasm towards this forum and providing easiness I cannot imagine what my life would become if I didn't have the opportunity to use your bot, and here I am more than happy to use this bot only on Telegram, and I don't think it's a big deal to download telegram because in my country we have to use VPN or have to use telegram proxy in order to use it because Telegram is banned here.

Even after that many hurdles, we have to use Telegram and almost every person who is in crypto must have at least one Telegram account so I don't think that would be a problem.

But if we go with you then I vote for email because browser notification would become too annoying as we do have to use browsers for other stuff too, but if you ask me frankly I don't want it on email too I love Telegram.

There was another website bot before yours popped up. I have used both and I'd say, I find yours/telegram bots convenient than website one.

However, above that, I'd prefer something like this: https://www.talkimg.com/image/tfFfb

You can add an option in Ninjastic.space so that a person can receive notifications by email, which I think is more appropriate than creating a separate website. If there is time, is it possible for it to be in the form of a Chrome extension so that it is next to MY MESSAGES, where the person can access it as soon as he opens the browser and it should be closer to the current PM notifications.

Taking a little from @shahzadafzal's idea and in order to avoid extensions, for those who don't like browser extensions, I would suggest the following:
Receive a PM on the forum once a day, with a list of all the notifications we have configured on Telegram.

For example, we configure that at 12 pm every day, we receive the PM with the list of notifications from the last 24 hours.

It didn't require extensions or install anything. And it could be configured directly on Telegram, or via a website created for this purpose.

I'm currently quite satisfied with your amazing Telegram SuperNotifier. Yes, I would love to receive my Bitcointalk notifications directly on Bitcointalk.org.

I mean, if you're asking for preferences, Yes I would prefer outside telegram notifications, but within the Bitcointalk.org website itself. For example, if there's a Chrome extension like this:

I would love to have it.

But I wouldn't want browser notifications outside of Bitcointalk.org. Notifications that pop up whether or not you're using a specific website can be quite annoying.

If you can do extension like Bitcointalk Extension - All In One - Available on Chrome store - Version 2.5, some forum members will support it.

I think it is for non tech people only as if they are tech guru, they will like to use user script rather than extensions from third party builders and can not verify code in the extensions.

Your telegram bot works great and is on time when it comes to notification, if you're dedicated to discussion on the forum you have to subscribe to this telegram notification, but a browser notification will be great for many of us, I don't recommend email notification because it could mark the email spam if they keep sending thousands of notifications every minute.

I am not too familiar with telegram that much, thus I did not bother to include the notification there because I am not active there. If we can have an extension, an extension for our browsers that simply notifies us when any of the above-mentioned activity appears in the forum, it will be a fantastic tool for people who are not on Telegram.

The OP already have one actually the ninjastic.space so it's one step closer to build something like the email notification settings. Also, browser extension/addons with pop up notification could be helpful too since there are people who uses extensions.

Hi,

I'm the creator of the BitcoinTalk SuperNotifier. A Telegram bot that sends you notifications every time someone:
- Sends you a merit.
- Mentions your username on the forum
- Replies to your posts or quotes them.
- Replies to topics you want to follow.
- Creates a new thread in a board you want to track.
- Creates a new post (if you want to follow them).

etc...

I know that some people don't use Telegram, so this means my bot isn't usable by them.

Now the question: Is there is demand for those notifications outside Telegram?
Would you use a website, setup email or browser notifications, etc... for all the stuff I wrote above?
I think what we need is a dedicated notifications section for stuff like that in the forum directly. I've had lapses with replying to comments made under my posts/replies and that is mostly because there's no reliable way for me to receive notifications when people do so. I wish a feature like such could be made to make it easier for people within this forum, but at the same time the Supernotifier is a good enough alternative that I don't see any reason why we should have a dedicated website for it. If we could create a website that's specifically just for notifications, why not urge the bitcointalk devs to instead make the feature within the forum itself as with any other forum?

Maybe there can be a secondary notification option… Like push notifications through a browser extension. This can work on real time when someone is browsing. I totally support the idea because sometimes I take long to check my telegram messages because I barely use it for messaging every day.

The telegram bots are actually useful. And when it comes to BitcoinTalk SuperNotifier bot nothing can beat it. Without any doubt it's the number one bot I used. Although something notifications may dalay (Due to network issue) but it is doing more then enough.

Apart from telegram bot, how do you propose an alternative solution? If you use a website, will it be able to give us push notification like telegram does. I don't have knowledge in that side so I don't know. And 2nd if you try extension, when the browser is closed how are we suppose to get notifications?

Maybe you should build your own open source app to run the bot. Off course, if you have the skills and knowledge for that.

I'm using it through telegram at this moment and I'm satisfied with it.

I don't really use Telegram a lot and that's why I'm someone on this forum who isn't using your notification bot. But, if you can manage to allow us to use the bot on multiple options then surely. I would be among the ones who'll use your awesome bot. I think it would be much better if a bot like yours can be packaged into a chrome extension so anyone can use it even without Telegram.

The telegram notification is super cool to me; the notification comes faster, provided that my device is connected to the internet, and the bot is not being mute; neither is that if the telegram notification itself is muted.

For those who don't make use of Telegram, I think email notification will be better. Will the person be required to use their personal email to communicate with the bot, or will it be done in any way? I was just asking out of curiosity, although people can just create one email for the purpose of this.

and I think email will be more active than that of the website since they will receive the notification just like every other mail box, but for the website, how many seconds will it take to synchronise and send a new notification all the time, or will the browser need to be open in order for it to come in?

After the telegram, I will also vote for email; those who want to make use of it will know their best choice and what will serve them better.
