- Change to multiple algorithms for increased blockchain security. Now Scrypt, SHA256, and X11
- Reworking of difficulty adjustments. Difficulty now adjusts on each algorithm according to hashrate on other algorithms. Improves mining fairness.
- Enabling and expansion of OP_Return data storage. Allowing up to 1024 bytes of data.
- Escalating transaction fees based on amount of OP_Return data included in the transaction. Don't know that this has been done before.
- Major improvements to the standard wallet. Now includes exchange viewer, built in block explorer, and embedded irc chat.
- Other minor improvements
Digitalcoin has functioned reliably for a year and a half now. Over 1 million blocks strong and counting. During this time many coins have come and gone. These improvements are not drastic changes, but do set the stage for much of what's to come.
At block 1028000 the first phase will be complete. Expect more in the coming months.
