No, dice do not belong to the most popular game in online casinos, the most popular is in slot machine games and followed by poker. These are more attractive games online especially in the slot games, probably Roulette and dice game are the same popularity altogether as the cards games.
As I noticed here now in our community, many dice site has been closed and one of them is Yolodice which is means they did not gain interest to the gamblers.

Regarding on the question about popularity then this is something a very common story because luck based games like dice is the most popular
because of fast and the most easiest way on making some instant bets or knowing the outcome which it isnt surprising that there are lots
who had been offering this game in default because the demand is there.
