it just doesn't feel like Plinko anymore.

I never actually heard of Plinko.

I've seen the metal ball game on TV that I guess this is based on, but never understood how to play.

And there was a game around a year ago called bitcoinpinball or something which was pretty similar to this.

I'm sorry if I've stepped all over some ancient Plinko paytable rules of which I was unaware. Smiley

Edit: but since I'm stepping...

How about letting the user write their own paytable?

The 'table design' page lets you pick how many pins you want in the bottom row, and what payout you want for each bucket (sorry if that's the wrong word, omaha - no offence intended), then when you try to save it, the site calculates the edge (or displays the edge with each edit you make) and only lets you save it if the edge is over 1%.

Change the drop tables for your plinko, and a couple other things, to seperate it from luckyb.it a bit more.

I would suggest changing the tables so that the edge is 1% for all three rows.

Your investors are already happy to accept a 1% edge, so why not make the most of your crowd-sourced bankroll and be competitive with the greedier sites?

Here are some slightly modified (I only changed the first (and last) two numbers) paytables which give slightly over 1% edge instead of the current 1.75% edge:

Current:

edge('green',  [ 22,   5,  3, 2, 1.4, 1.2, 1.1, 1,   0.4])         green: 1.750488%
edge('yellow', [111,  38, 12, 5, 3,   1.4, 1,   0.5, 0.3])        yellow: 1.755676%
edge('red',    [999, 130, 24, 9, 4,   2,   0.2, 0.2, 0.2])           red: 1.759033%

Modified:

edge('green',  [111,  14,  3, 2, 1.4, 1.2, 1.1, 1,   0.4])         green: 1.039429%
edge('yellow', [222,  46, 12, 5, 3,   1.4, 1,   0.5, 0.3])        yellow: 1.026306%
edge('red',    [999, 145, 24, 9, 4,   2,   0.2, 0.2, 0.2])           red: 1.026611%

Closer to 1%, but without "lucky" max win multipliers:

edge('green',  [ 123,  14,  3, 2, 1.4, 1.2, 1.1, 1,   0.4])        green: 1.002808%
edge('yellow', [ 230,  46, 12, 5, 3,   1.4, 1,   0.5, 0.3])       yellow: 1.001892%
edge('red',    [1007, 145, 24, 9, 4,   2,   0.2, 0.2, 0.2])          red: 1.002197%

Max Bet is 10X max profit.

I just set up username/password and 2FA and was able to:
  • logout
  • loging in through my secret login link
  • devest BTC
  • placing a bet
without giving another authentication then the initial secret login link.

An 'advanced security' menu in the 'account' section would be great. There you might be able to select which actions (loging in/divesting/betting) require which authentication (secret link/password/2FA).

Your 'plinko' right now is a direct clone of Lucky Bit. Even the pay tables are the same.

They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery; it's nice to see that people think so much of the game there!

Luckybit's awesome! I play there regularly and really enjoy it. I'll get in touch with them as soon as I get a second, should've sooner, but I hope they do feel flattered. We have the same respect for their creativity as we do dooglus whose investment structure we use, the cryptographers whose functions we use, Tesla, Turing, Von Nuemann for the computer architecture and underpinnings. Just as, I'm sure, the lucybit dev's have a great respect for the game of Pachinko. I'm not a lawyer and I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here. We saw a great idea, and coded it one night, it sorta just sat unused for a few months, but after the dicebitco.in thing dmf and I wanted to give players and investors more reason to walk the path of the ninja, so we dusted it off and rolled it out. Also, while a humble contribution, pachinko style betting that supports investment is something that, afaik, has not been done before.

I've been so busy trying to keep stuff rolling smoothly that I honestly hadn't given it enough though: with investment everyone already know's it was doog's idea (Right?). The game of dice is so well known that we can't move the investment display without someone screaming "THATS NOT HOW PRIME DICE DOES IT!!! SCAM!!!1 AHHHH!". Tongue Exposing our users to another method of "letting the chips fall where they may" works in everybodys favor, because it's awesome, and people should know about it.

tldr: You are correct, sir! We do think quite highly of the luckyb.it model we've been calling plinko at dice.ninja Smiley

EDIT: I completely encourage typing as loud as you can in our chat box if you're not happy with a feature or have ideas about new developments to the site, but maybe turn caps lock off before your do Wink

Site went down ?

They are restarting a lot. Updating and stuff.

Hey guys, sorry, seems like the last update introduced some mild instability, we're working on it now ( part of the reason dmf and I haven't been in the chat ) and I think we've got a fix in place, I can't be sure as I haven't been able to reproduce the error inside my test instance, but we've fixed most of the issues causing slowness from launch. Please don't be afraid to let one of us know if you're experiencing any problems, though, even if we don't get it right away, it's nice to have a record of problems people have had.

Thanks!

Are the Plinko bets provably fair too?

It works great by the way. Luckyb.it watch out!

edit: How do I verify bets in general? I mean, where can I find the nonce of my bets? I have requested a new server seed (that worked), but there is nowhere I can see what the data of my old bets is.

I just noticed a small problem:

If I bet 0 BTC and watch the 'fancy bets', it shows me losing whether I win or lose the bet.

That's not really a bug, we figured since that ninja doesn't have any bitcoin he would probably commit the ancient Japanese ritualistic suicide rite known as "Seppuku".

Standing before those that loved and followed him, in the calm shade of the cherry blossom's pink petals, the ninja kneels on to a soft white cloth laid out in the middle of a quiet yard high in the mountains. He utters a haiku, his haiku, in an attempt to refine a life of feelings, experiences, thoughts and dreams, all of the essence of what we may treasure to be a unique human life accumulated such that they might be easily stamped into the minds and writings of those that remember him. He treasures his last breaths for a moment, then pulls the small blade he's carried from childhood, for no other purpose but to end his life with honor, and wipes the dust off the smooth steel into a black cloth so that he may die immaculately clean. Finally he splits open his stomach cutting first across it's width than up towards his heart with a look of resigned stoicism, unflinching in his pursuit of respect.

But just having it spin and fly up was way easier to animate... Plus I don't think ninja actually did that.

Okay, it's a bug.
