well you paid ~300 per coin and the price right now is about 310 per coin so you're in the clear with a little bit.

wasnt really a great price to buy at, i would have bought when the price was <250

If you buy more now at these prices, your good price will be even better. Whicj looks like you've already done and using localbitcoins too which is better than the extra $60 vig of whatever it was you used before. So good job. *thumbsup.gif

Although you are in loss right know, hold on to your bitcoin. The thing is, eventually the price will recover.. and fall.

Make sure you don't your BTC locked by then.

Hello, I currently have just over 2.5 btc. I bought one of the btc a few months ago at 240USD but s***ty VirWox fees made the price 300USD. I felt a bit down because the price was not going above 300USD until recently. So was it a good investment? So far I have invested 1292usd in bitcoin and have 2.6btc. I am thinking to buy some more now. But is it a good time? The price may go down after silk road's bitcoins are auctioned off.

Only time will tell you if you've done a great decision or not. But everything think that price will rise within the next year, so, don't worry and wait until price is at least 1000$ !

Honestly 1262 for 2.6 BTC seems to be quite expensive.

Your average price per BTC IS 496 USD, the current price for BTC Is 311 so you have lost 483.4 USD on your purchase.

Even if you need it, I strongly advice you not to sell. There are a lot of things going on, but if after the halving in june BTC will not go to 400-450.. a lot things will changes. Miners will abandon shop etc. So i have a strong feeling 400 USD is possible when the halving occurs.

Here is a nice countdown, so you know when to act Smiley

Good luck mate.

I think it is not a bad investment at all. You can sell above 300 (which has happened recently) for some profit and even possibly rebuy lower. If you mean "long term" well, it is very likely that BTC gets over that price consistently, but nothing is 100% sure.
Just to note that I bought another 0.29 btc at 392USD about a week ago from localbitcoins. So now I have 3.1 BTC Tongue

at this point i think it's better to wait a bit before buying as the price wen't up significantly already. my guess is it will drop to $370 to go over $400 again later.
As you said we have to wait for months because due to christmas and new year all countries will go up in currency rate. In the meanwhile you save some more and you can open savings after this peak period. then only it would helpful for you Else its like wasting your own effort and hard earned money.

I managed to buy 0.12 btc yesterday at 365USD but I wanted to buy more but don't have enough money in my bank account yet. The price has now increased to 410USD at time of writing this post. I'm not sure if I should buy at this price or not. I still need to wait for some money to come into my account.

Hey bro i suggest you to sell 1 btc of yours which you bought at 300$ its a good time to sell and save the rest .. and lets the btc to raise more .
No, I want to hold that because price is still rising. Currently there is no indication that the price will crash below 300USD of what I bought it at

Well then good luck with your investment .. Maybe next morning you wake up and see the bitcoin below 350$ so just saved half of your investment .

You might as well sell your BTC for guaranteed profit now rather than risk it.

If you are a short term trader then I wouldn't buy right now. If you plan to hold your coins for a very long time, then yes, current price is a good buy.

I may be getting a big cash injection (1500USD) next august 2016 from my parents for my exam results. I want to invest it in bitcoin but I'm worried that in august 2016 the price could have alresdy skyrocketed due to halvening

The way it's going you might be able to buy yourself another 2 coins (if you're lucky) Wink
