Well at least the bitcoin community can get some publicity thanks to this, mostly bad given the state of everything but none the less.

Looks like TSLA is the newest altcoin, with swings of 20% up and down in under 24 hours. Cheesy

I don't think you missed anything. I've not heard of any major news or developments which would effect TSLA. They are increasing production, but on track to post a fairly weak Q1. The Chinese markets had been closed for an extended period over Chinese New Year, and the spike upwards coincided with them reopening, so I wonder if it was simply them catching up with the recent upward movements that caused the big spike up. Lots of people then FOMOed in (go and have a look at some of the investing or stocks subreddits and see post after post of people buying at $900+). It was massively overbought and corrected, as to be expected.

As usual any thoughts or comments are more than welcome.

Shares will always reflect both the good and the bad news immediately and price in the future impact of that news on the company financials. Tesla and Musk timed it perfectly predicting the future and started to deliver the cars while others are investing and researching on the EV cars segment. More than 200+ patents and industry-leading battery technology with fast charging where the rivals are way behind.

Several countries are subsidizing the purchase of EV vehicles to reduce pollution and global warming all these are reflected in the share price. We need to look into the order size, future cash flows, and fundamental analysis before making fresh investments at this level

Read this : https://finance.yahoo.com/news/tesla-50-billion-edge-reflects-025050968.html.

I'm quite agree with the article said

Quote
“There’s a recognition that Tesla is in a preeminent position in terms of EV technology,” Peter Rawlinson, the chief executive officer of Lucid Motors Inc., said in an interview Monday at the BloombergNEF Summit in San Francisco. “They’re even further ahead than has been reported, and I think the gap is widening, not closing.”

many had predicted that this would soon become a trend, so many began to buy their shares.
