i started mining with 2 usb asic for about a day, then i had 6 more come so i have 8 in total. over 3 1/2 days i have had about 4-5 hours down time when i had to change hubs and mess about with the setting.
but i have earned the grand sum of $3 about £2  Grin. even though i have used more electric to run them then they have earned i want to buy more  Grin.
does this amount sound about right.

you've made $3 now!  Imagine though with the increase in price how much that'll be worth in a year..maybe $6!!

Are those USB ASICS useless if you don't use them for BTC mining?

I have a Radeon 6950 and a 7770 in my PC and seems I can do about 500.
Obviously no where near as efficient as the USB ASIC but USB ASICs still costs around $25 each. (in Oz at least)
Can these be somehow made for Scrypt mining instead later on?

Seems like BTC mining is now a little too difficult unless you invest a lot which is expensive. =(

Yeah, but that's really little.. going to drop further more after the difficulty hike in about 1.5 days....

i can see a lot of people start selling of there equipment if the difficulty gets to hard it won't be worth plugging them in.

I thought about this few months back, but still the miners pay only small % of mined BTC for electricity. No need to turn the miners off yet

Yup, if what you get is more then the electricity charges, then its better to just continue mine while selling it on ebay....

its upsetting to see mining dying and the ASIC chip companies destroying it all Sad Defiantly a hobby thing now to just make a few dollars to get into BitCoins. i think USB miners are a good gateway into BTC though Cheesy

It's crazy that people are still paying $1000's on Ebay for asics  Huh I might get me a BlueFury miner when I can afford one, though only as a hobby...
