There is no doubting the grandeur which is BCX, but I think the drop had much more to do with the IRS and the news surrounding the Chinese Exchanges.

I doubt. Especially that it was BCX.At the exchanges the hashing power is not so powerful and important. But rising hashing power can limit the arrival of new coins to the exchanges, limit supply and by the imbalance of the supply and the demand consequently produce the price growth. All of that is temporary only.
If you suspect BCX's hashing power produce price fall, it is not true. The lack of the BCX's hashing power can produce the fall of the prices
