I find it to be a serious issue. I have to factor in HVAC costs. My bedroom is a sauna unless the A/C runs 24/7. and I'm at 45 degrees North.
Vendors: Please add water cooling options to your ASIC miners! Home users don't want to add-on to their homes in order to host mining, and water is much cheaper than A/C. It seriously affects payback calcuations.

Judging by the story, he probably didn't have much of a brain to damage anyway. I mean, how do you sleep in a room that's sweltering hot? To the point of suffering heat stroke?

I agree, I bet he did get confused and felt sick and was probubly on the brink of heat stroke. It'st just a story to let other people know that its not a good idea to this this sort of setup It's probably not true.
