I've posted the ANN for WeAreNakamoto. I was unable to compile the Mac or Windows wallets. Hopefully a dev that is familiar with it will assist.

So, the name we're rolling with is WeAreNakamoto. We're also going to pick up where MrBrew left off.

There are 6,234,450,000 coins left to mine on the original block chain,

Here is the breakdown of the original blockchain:
Current block: 550622

Starting block reward was 100,000 coins for 200,000 blocks and then it halved.

100,000 * 200,000 = 20000000000
50,000 * 200,000 = 10000000000
25,000 * 150,622 = 3765550000

I've compiled WeAreNakamoto for Linux (Compiled on Ubuntu). I'm in the process of downloading Qt to compile for Mac OSX and then I'll also be working on compiling a Windows version as well.

The ANN will come out later this week once I get wallets compiled and they are confirmed working.

With this coin coming back to life with a new name, the several people hitting up the WSX thread about V1 coins they can't use, will have a place to go. :-)

I like WeAreNakamoto, it sounds pretty good.

The 3 chain options do have their pros and cons:

1. Using the pre-coinswap chain: Would revert coin ownership to before the swap so people who sent in WAS v1 for v2 would retain their coins; a lot of those people may have deleted their wallets though so they may not be able to use them.

2. Using my current coinswap chain and re-enable block rewards: Basically people who missed the coin swap would have coins, for the most part this is probably people who don't keep up with WAS and/or have their wallets anymore since they didn't complete the swap; so it's probably a lot of "dead" coins.

3. Starting from 0: This would give people the option to mine without an existing widespread distribution and the client could be based on a more up to date codebase.

Well, my biggest issue is, when talk started up about WASv1 on the other thread, WSX saw some stalling on buying and selling. I want to try and be as different as possible, yet still stay close to the roots of what #WASv1 is all about.

I was thinking of names the other night and came up "NakamotoCoin" or just, "Nakamoto". I also kinda like "WeAreNakamoto" which stays in the "WeAre" family and ties the two coins together through the name Satoshi Nakamoto.

That way both coins could thrive without confusion, yet still be relatable.

The issue that we're facing is which fork to pick up from. The earlier (original) fork created by MrBrew(current block: 550,622), or the later fork by MrData (current block: 726,264). There is a difference of 175,642 blocks, with a block reward halving in there.

I'm still trying to figure out how to change the name of the coin in the source and compile. both of my attempts have been thwarted by an error that there is an invalid symbol. Which makes no sense as I did a simple Find and Replace for WeAreSatoshi to either Nakamoto or WeAreNakamoto.

If anyone could be of assistance in the renaming, It'd be greatly appreciated!

for what my opinions worth

Re: Brand
I always liked "#WAS"
Yes there might be some confusion but I think the fact that there are 2 WeareSatoshi causes people to look at it and figure out the difference.  WASv1 will be the #hashtag one, and within is the marketing plan, twitter payouts for tweets.

RE: blockchain
Either fork where/when the split occurred (sometime in early Aug 2014?) or where the chain is right now.
Random date to fork the chain Sept 1 2014.

But yes the value is being a large coin count/supply algo.  We could handout 100 #WAS to anyone (every living person on earth).

Starting at block 0 means a whole new block chain and the old coins mined won't exist on the chain. If we pick up where the other chain over half the coins in existence would already be mined.

Regarding the total coin amount, let's please not change that.  I rather like the idea of a super-volume coin with low mining diff.  It will obviously take several million/billion of them to make a large investment, but after it fully matures at the end of ~1 year (following the original maturation cycle) it will be about 1000x more valuable than when it started.

I liked the concept of this coin because its the fastest mining, fastest maturing coin I've seen so far. In only 1 year, all blocks are meant to be mined.  And after that, inflation is minimal

Should we pick up where the original blockchain was left? or do a full re-launch at block 0?

What are the implications of each choice?  If we relaunch at block 0, what will that mean for all the coins that have been mined already?

The coin is what used to be WeAreSatoshi(WAS) SHA-256. (Original ANN https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-wearesatoshi-was-sha-256-4-exchanges-fast-easy-to-mine-today-506912)

When WeAreSatoshi was moved to WAS2 (WSX), this coin was left behind. I know there were many that felt moving away from this coin wasn't a good idea. I think this coin still has some potential, but it just needs some help. If the coin was re-branded (so not to cause harm against WSX), and relaunched with an idea and direction, this coin could flourish again.

I found a peer that still had the old blockchain from release v0.8.99.7, which was the initial release. I synched up to it and set my wallet to generate blocks to ensure the blockchain was still functional, and it appears it is. I'm no coin dev, but something this coin might benefit from is a decrease in total coins, and slightly longer block time. Currently it's 30 seconds.

I did message MrBrew and he supports the idea.

Ideas welcome and encouraged.

I have both blockchains synched on my side. We should decide if we want to pick up where the original blockchain left off or pick up where MrData left the chain, prior to the WSX conversion

i also have 3 to 5 coins with good potential that need a dev to revive. Just sayin'

Yeah, I hear ya. There have been many coins that have come and gone, many with more potential than others. It  takes a community to make a coin successful.
