It may work but it may get blocked in certain countries as time progresses.
However getting a license is expensive and hard too. Very tricky.

wouldn't a vpn get around this particular issue ?

License are made to give to any operating business or services to ensure that they comply with the following regulations. So if gambling sites don't have licenses then you won't guarantee that they are implementing the rules like making their games fair to the players.
All businesses run in a country must have a license that indicates that the business is legal and does not violate the law. This also applies to gambling sites, both the use of fiat money and digital money such as bitcoin.
Especially gambling sites have certain rules where each country is different, because there are some countries that do not allow gambling sites to be applied in their area, except certain areas such as the Tourism Zone.

It will depend of which country you belong in which gambling sites is just like facilitating an investments site online. Here in my country, we are required to ask for license to operate in all kind of businesses and investments either they are online only or an establishments as per government policy.

I think gambling websites will use hosting server in the country which gambling is legal, but I don't think that they will make that licenses. But it is better to have gambling licenses so people can feel safety when they played. I think the gambling sites which have licenses will become recommended gambling websites for the people and I think they can gain more member to come to their websites.

I gave you reasons on why bitcoin gambling sites need licenses.

1. For your own security- We all know if you have a license, you always feel secured!
2. If you have a license means you doing all good and not illegal.
3. And last, based on softswiss.com. It is important to understand that a gambling license is absolutely necessary for an iGaming business to pass the application for a merchant bank account and to officially work with electronic payment systems. When the casino website is working with Bitcoin, all of payment processing can be performed internally with no third party services involved that can control the crypto payment infrastructure.

am new to forum, I currently use mainstream sites like betfair but as looking to gamble my bitcoins but wondered if dice sites etc need a licensee, and should I steer clear of ones that don't?
I think the gambling sites need to be licensed to operate. This helps to reduce illegal activities such as fraud, money laundering ... gambling sites have a lot of impact on bitcoins. It reduces people's confidence in bitcoin
In the online world anyone can make a gambling site, you don't need a license to operate it. but for gambling sites to be more secure
and reliable, of course licenses are needed. license is required but not mandatory #imo

gambling site really needs a license to operate because you are dealing money here ( huge amounts of money ) but if you are only making a fake gambling site or free 2 play ( without money involvement ) then there's no need to license it  .  same as when making other websites that are not related to money ( except crypto faucets  )

no it is not correct to giving license for gambling sites. because then all the people try to do gambling. gambling is not easy issue it is risky process. who want to become rich in easy way and they had no ethical values for doing like that business. so like that people interested to gambling. any government not encourage like this activities it is harmful to society so no one can give licenses for this.
nope I think you're wrong, in some countries gambling in legalized and when you want to build a gambling house you have to ask for permission and license from the government, in some countries like the USA (in some states), hongkong, china, etc legalize gambling and certainly have to go through a permit from the government to create gambling houses, as well as gambling sites, although it is not mandatory I think licenses will make them more trustworthy, and of course freely circulated in the country,

its the greyest of areas if I have ever seen any
usually it is working like this: if you split bitcoin gambling sites into two categories, roughly
regular bitcoin casinos with slots, blackjack, craps and all that jazz, you can tell them
by huge deposit bonuses (borderline scammy,if you ask me,always read TOS),non automatic withdrawals, licensed(or stolen)scripts etc.
they do posess some licences, usually from some god forgotten countries like Curacao
but don't think that you won't be scammed or cheated if it is a licensed casino, read scam accusations here and see for yourself

the second category is so called "provably fair" or verified fair sites-the majority of the dice sites, most of the
hybrid casinos developped from scratch (primedice, bitsler, cryptogames, luckygames etc.)
usually, they do not have gambling licences or prefer not to flaunt them
but I would prefer a casino where you can verify your rolls to a random "licenced" casino where you have to trust the operator to be fair and legit

Yes, all operations in the whole world need permit. If there is no permit, then the business is illegal and not proper evaluated by the government of the country.

Yes they do for some countries. Gambling seems to be a touchy subject for people.

Go with ico's that have the licenses because that means they had to abide to some form of standards. UnikoinGold is my choice thus far for esports gambling. I see big things ahead for them.
I agree bitcoin gambling sites were need license, like casinos this gambling sites are license. They apply it because they want to protect their business. Even though they need to paid high amount of taxes they do this because they don't want to destroy their business. Atleast even they paid their high amount they know that anytime they cannot arrested by the police.

I think so,  since not all countries allows the operation of gambling business and I think in order to regulate further this activity it should be strictly implemented.
In order to protect the interest of the botcoiners, it should be implemented so only legit and feasible countries are only allowed in this kind of business.

so the bitcoiner must be careful with doing all activities if doing better gambling activity account is in dead because it will harm the parties who do not do gambling.

I don't think there is a valid license for a bitcoin casino. They are hosting the offshore.they may close at any time.

In the case of my country, yes it is required. Any form of gambling whether through virtual or actual casink needs to have gambling license. Our president today is really strict on this one as many casinos now, even the online and virtual ones, were shut down because of tax evasion and lack of requirements to operate. And now with Bitcoin being developed, the government may see those gambling Bitcoin sites and also regulate it.

I believe yes. The gambling cartel, which is one of the most powerful in the world will not want anyone entering the game without a high barrier to entry.

Liscence is very important in running a business because if you don't have it, expect charges that will be filed against you at the court and it's a very serious problem than acquiring a business licence.
