what major improvement has bitcoin gone thru other than price fall, expedia overstock accepting btc.
anybody?

Easier to use now which is helping out with wider acceptance.....

1) The Myceilum wallet is easier to use than my banks app.

2) Circle app is self explanatory easy to use and insured against loss.(plus instant buy/sell)

3) Gyft app works great for using btc around town.

It's not that hard for new btc users anymore.....Any smartphone user can quickly understand and start to buy/sell/spend in minutes.

MtGox made a good example for Banks/Governments to see that centralization does not work with Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is still young and developing..... It takes time, just like the internet did.

Currently, there's no way to do exactly this with bitcoin, although you can do something inferior if you're willing to give the raw transaction text to a trusted third party or leave it somewhere for them to find.

There will soon be a way in bitcoin : https://github.com/bitcoin/bips/blob/master/bip-0065.mediawiki (CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY)

Half a year ago, every day, I was Bitcoining 8 hours a day.  Setting up gear.  Ordering new gear.  Selling used gear.  Tuning my gear.  Optimizing my environment.  Buying Bitcoin.  Meeting up with Bitcoin vendors around my neighbourhood.

But my fever has reached its pinnacle.  Lately, while still following Bitcoin news closely, my foot has not been on the gas pedal nearly as much.
Am I the only one?  How can I get reinvigorated?

just like you, I started wondering what I should do now. not excited as ever. no focus should I do. in addition to the results that I get nothing. no one in my town who could be invited to discuss about this. Sad

Nope.

Me neither. I was heavily into BTC before I made the mistake of ordering miners from BFL and got caught up in that whole mess (btw, EAT SHIT AND DIE BFL, YOU DISGUSTING PIECE OF SHIT EATING DIRTY MOTHER FUCKING SCUMBAG DOUBLE CROSSING A-HOLE DOUCHE BAG WHORES, but then again, I digress. I apologize, momentary tourettes. *Ahem*). Since then, I sold all my BTCs and pretty much cashed out right before they tanked...haven't looked back since TBH. I've been keeping an eye on the sidelines every once and awhile (like now) just to keep up but I don't think I'll ever jump back in again. My confidence in the whole thing is shot just because I just can't help this nagging gut feeling that BTC has been bought out and corrupted somehow. I know, I know..."not possible"...but c'mon. Everything BTC stood for no longer applies. Decentralized? Anonymous? LOL! Not since ASICs, corporate mining farms and the fed pretty much killed the concept AND the fact that folks like you and me can't compete anymore. Disillusioned and bitter much? Hell fuckin' yeah. Bottom line? I still believe in the CONCEPT but looking for the nex gen. Until then I'm sitting this one out and stacking silver (DISCLAIMER: Opinions are like assholes and mine stink just like the rest of them).

Hang in there it will change for you. I used to think like you do because for a year or two I lost money to every scam on this forum since MyBitcoin. I bitched and complained about everything until I realized that the idiots selling ideas on this forum aren't Bitcoin. They are shitting on Bitcoin. They are here to squeeze the last drop of milk out of Bitcoins teat. The pool operators, TBF members, exchanges, business startups, new storage gadget makers, online wallets, IPO salesmen, casinos and everyone in between are here to make your btc belong to them. You have to assume anyone that offers anything for sale on this forum is a fucking thief and a liar. I pretty much use Bitcoin now only when I'm standing in front of the person I'm giving it to or at major retailers online that were around long before Bitcoin. If you follow that pattern you can't go wrong. Just remember there's nothing wrong with using Bitcoin but there's a lot wrong with the people selling shit on this forum. Keep a few btc as a memento of the time you used Bitcoin. Lock them away on an old hard drive like you would a photo album and forget about them for years. Some day you can open the file and laugh at how stupid you were back then or run out and buy a new house with a keepsake. Either way you haven't lost much.

I guess the excitement of mining is gone for home miners now. Just read that some large mining operator is targeting large dams for cheap electricity, means even higher difficulty and lower income for home miners

But in finance area, the real excitement has not started yet. I start to get questions about bitcoin from a few friends and more and more people are starting to purchase bitcoin from me. Once they see that this thing will never fall below the previous low, their confidence will getting stronger and stronger

The best moments are when people panic due to a crash or rally.

I open BTC-E trollbox, and while enjoying a beer I'm laughing at fools going nuts in the trollbox.

It's been a few years so the excitement is fading in a manner of speaking, mainly because I'm starting to use them regularly and it's becoming a normal thing for me, but there's always something new in the environment that turns me on again. Smiley
