I have made a bold decision to start my bitcoin journey. But just like every a new born baby needs close care and attention to grow I really don't want to make a mistake in any thing I am doing. I have this question to ask.
''Is it advisable to to have a mentor who I can always go to as a newbie in the crypto space or I should rely all my knowledge on things I read online for my growth.

I don't think you need to spend more time looking for a mentor who will teach you about the world of crypto, even if you intend to pay for it, but I'm not sure that someone will teach you everything about things related to the world of crypto. So it would be better for you to get used to reading everything you don't know about via the internet. Even though it may be a little slow for you to understand, at least you can maintain your privacy with other people regarding matters related to the crypto world.

In the crypto world, everyone needs to take care of themselves quite well and maintain every equipment they use very well for better security, because it is not recommended for everyone to reveal everything to the public. Moreover, if your goal in learning about the world of crypto is for money, there certainly won't be many people who want to teach you for free, unless you yourself make questions in discussions like this via forums.

If there are free mentors, why not, because it is important for us to look for good guidance about Bitcoin, especially if you are a beginner. This is all so that we don't make mistakes, therefore we need to study the theory because there the mentor will teach us in very detailed and interesting ways about all the processes in the bitcoin field.

However, in my opinion, this forum is more than enough for you to learn about Bitcoin because it is very complete here, there are also lots of mentors here as long as you are not lazy to read and are not embarrassed to ask questions. From my experience, many of the users here are good and many are experts in bitcoin, so make the most of this forum. Because all users have good experience on this forum.

Use this forum as a mentor to start your journey to get to know Bitcoin more deeply, a lot of knowledge has been shared here to make it easier for beginners to get to know Bitcoin. Always take the time to read and use the search button to make it easier for you to find something you are looking for in the forum. Your courage in undertaking the journey will determine your level of success depending on how you start. Discard the feeling of being lazy about reading, dare to ask more senior members about something you don't know and continue to be directly involved in discussions to broaden your insight.

A good mentor is important information that you collect from various sources, then you can also dig up further information here as initial capital in continuing your investment journey. You must rely on yourself and the decisions you make based on the results of your own research. Always trust yourself in every decision you make, other people can only give advice but the final decision is in your hands.
A good mentoring makes it very simple on that point, even without mentioning bitcoin, for anyone who wants to delve into anything. Additionally, you may discover information that is unknown to others. For instance, in Chinese movies, students of kufu constantly submit to the discipline and training of their teacher because they think the teacher will always teach them a unique technique. Therefore, in bitcoin, the danger is lower the better the mentorship.
You can conduct study into any subject you desire, but adding mentorship will make it simpler to take pleasure in the surroundings. Goals for what you wish to archive can then be determined afterwards. being aware of your investment goals and frequency of contributions. People are always scared since it involves money but when they have some to encourage the and guide them then it is finished.

I started with no mentor, and I became profitable investing in Bitcoin. So, I can say that there's no need to have a mentor. Self-study is what we should do. At least we don't need to spend; instead, we can use that money as capital for investing or trading. Try to learn the basics first, understand what Bitcoin and cryptocurrency are overall. You need to understand the risks so you'll be able to handle them effectively and learn how to minimize the risk.

There's no overnight success here, so be patient and keep learning. Eventually, when you really have the skills, profit will just follow.

Yes, you need a mentor but it's not a requirement. If you've one, fine. If you don't, it's still ok. Mentorship will help you stand on the shoulders of giants so you can see far and well ahead in the industry/business you're getting into. It's not just in the crypto industry alone. It's in all facets of life. If you can get one who will have time commitment to you and be willing to impact your journey with or without tasking you financially, stick to such one. I got here by a stroke of luck; never had a mentor. I had to learn the ropes by myself and I believe it took me a longer time to get to the point I'm right now than it would've had I had a mentor. A mentor would've jump started me, I believe.

You do not need a mentor in your journey in Bitcoin just get the experience on your own, or from the people who can serve you as knowledge already, and it's up to you how you manage and grow those skills, common recently there's a lot of pretending person that they are willing to help you but at the end of the day after getting to know your comfort they will start their plan its a common scheme of scamming other people, so don't fall on it easily. Also in decision its on your own, don't let other people decide where to invest, go altcoins, go bitcoin, play gambling and etc. All in your own risk and decision.

It depends on the type of mentor that you can come across. If it is a good mentor, that is fine, but if it is a bad one, you better not. Making proper research can be very helpful, and also making proper personal decision afterwards can make you do better along the path.

Your biggest and best tutor is open source, free resources because Bitcoin is designed for open source codes and it opens a gate, chance for everyone with free resources too.

You don't have to look for people to be your tutors. By chance, you can meet your tutors but before they come to you, stop looking for them but start to learn with open source code and free resources. They are always here for you to explore about Bitcoin.

This is not to say that there aren't some excellent courses and trading techniques being taught, but using them does not ensure trading success.

On the other hand, even if you do manage to find a successful trader who is prepared to teach you, it will probably cost a fortune, and it still won't ensure your success.
Why trading and trader?

Again, newbie talks about trading. I hope you won't learn your hard lesson from trading.

OP is a newbie and should start with investing, holding, securing his wallet and coins safely. Backing up wallet safely for recovery in future.

Trading, I am against it for newbies in Bitcoin market.

In Bitcoin there's a popular phrases "don't trust, verify", since you can't verify human mind, you can't trust anyone.

So the best choice is start to learn from scratch, are you already trust in Bitcoin? if not then watch the video about banks vs Bitcoin. The next step is learn about centralized exchange, decentralized exchange, non custodial wallet, custodial wallet, ways to save your seed phrase, read some basic security etc.

It is not nice for anyone to underrate the power of mentorship. Whoever embarks on a journey with a mentor is slightly going to arrive his destination faster and smoothly. A  Mentor is someone who has passed through the phase of life that you are currently passing through. But anyone that discovers this forum may not have the need for a mentor anymore. Here is  just like having so many mentors and it is now at your own discretion to choose which mentor our group of mentors that you will listen.

Welcome to the bitcointalk Forum. Since you are new to this forum you must first follow the forum rules. If you are interested in learning about Bitcoin and Crypto. So do your own research first because you won't learn anything good when you follow someone else's advice.

I don't need your advice for this. Because observing yourself can be the most experienced. You may prefer Bitcointalk forum to learn. You know the answer as soon as you ask any question. And through that you will get answers to your unknown questions. The more time you spend on this forum the more experienced you will become. Just by your will power.
Doing research first about what we are going to do would be very good because we can find out whether the thing we are going to do is suitable or not, if it is not suitable for us it is better not to do it because it could be a problem and only last a short time no we can't produce anything. If we can observe ourselves, it will be very useful because we can find out what we can do or not. I agree with you that spending a lot of our time on this forum we can get various information that we need.

I have this question to ask.
''Is it advisable to to have a mentor who I can always go to as a newbie in the crypto space or I should rely all my knowledge on things I read online for my growth.
In my personal opinion, having a mentor and not having a mentor will likely yield the same results in the crypto world. Because you need to know, to learn the ins and outs of the crypto world, the key is just the desire you have and never be lazy to continue learning all the knowledge. Because currently information and knowledge about cryptocurrency is widely available on the internet. Such as on websites in the form of writing, on YouTube in the form of videos, and one of them is in the BTT forum. So basically you just need to have a strong intention, then get rid of laziness, and after that you just have to apply the knowledge you have learned to trading or investing in cryptocurrency.

And having a mentor who can guide you in the world of crypto is definitely the same as learning autodidactically. Maybe the difference is, in terms of learning it will definitely be shorter. Because by having a mentor, everything you want to learn about cryptocurrency has been prepared by that mentor and you don't need to bother looking for information first. So in essence, I personally have a neutral opinion regarding the existence of mentors. Because actually, if you look at it from a scientific point of view regarding the crypto realm. Even if you learn it yourself, as long as you have a strong desire, the results will definitely be optimal.

Apart from that, what you need to know is that once you invest or trade crypto, there is definitely one thing that you will definitely learn better than from a mentor. Namely learning from the experience you have regarding crypto trading or investment. Personally, I think an experience is an indelible and very useful lesson to become better at trading or investing in the crypto world.

Having mentor is not too ideal when it comes to bitcoin. You know why? The two of you might have wrong conception about bitcoin and you wouldn't know and whatever wrong thing he tells you, you will accept it without doing further research.

The best approach about this, do your own personal research about bitcoin, paper works on bitcoin is there around the internet, all the pages in the internet cannot be lying, if out of 10 have information about bitcoin, 8 of them will be saying the same thing about bitcoin, the forum is another place to understand everything about bitcoin.

With the silly mistakes some crypto users do make such as storing funds on CEX, storing funds in closed source wallets, clicking phishing links and investing in pump and dump projects. So oh yeah! I think you need a mentor, the forum should be your mentoring ground where your mentorship starts. So stick around, read crypto articles both in and outside the forum, participate in ongoing discussions, ask questions in areas you need clarity. In no time you will be equipped with the basic knowledge you need to go about your bitcoin sojourn as well as other crypto investments.

Not necessarily, but having one will shorten your road towards those knowledge that you will be needing in the future.

Not having a mentor means, you will be going left and right, meaning you might experience some things that you don't necessarily need in the future. Having a mentor meaning he/she will help you to have those knowledge that you will be needing.

As for me, I didn't have any mentor that guided me. Youtube guided me as well as this forum thru different threads. Youtube documentaries lead me to various knowledges. Threads here in the forum added some information that I needed. I didn't have a mentor, since most of the information can already be found online. I mean it's up to you if you need a mentor or not, but as for me, having one is good, but not having one isn't the end of the word because there's a thing called self-learning.
